  • The Hungarian Soviet Republic existed for 133 days in 1919, but got invaded by all their neighbors, with a kingdom being established in the nation. Sadly, when Hungary got defeated, the flag also changed from one of the most creative designs, to the Hungarian Tricolor. After Hungary’s attempt at communism, they became communist once again in 30 years later, after the Second World War ended.
    What would change if Hungary managed to remain communist in 1919, how would that change the Second World War, let’s find out?

    Personally I think the Entente would probably treat Germany a bit differently if they see how easily a country like Russia and now Hungary with Soviet aid (under Trotski) fell to an extreme ideology like Communism and might be more lineant with Germany to have a Bullwark against the Soviet Union

      @@rewriting-history On 31 October 1918, in the midst of armistice negotiations, the Aster Revolution in Budapest brought the liberal Károlyi, a supporter of the Allies, to power. On the 1st of November, Mihály Károlyi's new Hungarian government decided to recall all of the troops, who were conscripted from the territory of Kingdom of Hungary, which was a major blow for the Habsburg's armies.[37] King Charles had no other option than the appointment of Károlyi as prime minister of Hungary. The Hungarian Royal Honvéd army still had more than 1,400,000 soldiers[38][39] when Károlyi was announced as prime minister. Károlyi yielded to President Wilson's demand for pacifism by ordering the unilateral self-disarmament of the Hungarian army. This happened under the direction of Minister of War Béla Linder on 2 November 1918[40][41] When Oszkár Jászi became the new Minister for National Minorities of Hungary, he immediately offered democratic referendums about the disputed borders for minorities; however, the political leaders of those minorities refused the very idea of democratic referendums regarding disputed territories at the Paris peace conference.[42] Disarmament of its army meant that Hungary was to remain without a national defence at a time of particular vulnerability. The unilateral self-disarmament made the occupation of Hungary directly possible for the relatively small armies of Romania, the Franco-Serbian army, and the armed forces of the newly established Czechoslovakia.[43][44][45][46] After self-disarmament, Czech, Serbian, and Romanian political leaders chose to attack Hungary instead of holding democratic plebiscites concerning the disputed areas.[47]
      On the request of the Austro-Hungarian government, an armistice was granted to Austria-Hungary on 3 November 1918 by the Allies.[48] Military and political events changed rapidly and drastically after the Hungarian unilateral disarmament:
      On 5 November 1918, the Serbian army, with the help of the French army, crossed the southern borders.
      On 8 November, the Czechoslovak army crossed the northern borders.
      On 10 November d'Espérey's army crossed the Danube River and was poised to enter the Hungarian heartland.
      On 11 November Germany signed an armistice with Allies, under which they had to immediately withdraw all German troops in Romania and in the Ottoman Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Russian Empire back to German territory and Allies to have access to these countries.[49]
      On 13 November, the Romanian army crossed the eastern borders of the Kingdom of Hungary.
      During the rule of Károlyi's pacifist cabinet, Hungary rapidly lost control over approximately 75% of its former pre-WWI territories (325,411 km2 (125,642 sq mi)) without a fight and was subject to foreign occupation.[50]

      Hungary certainly didn't exist in the borders they claim for over 1000 years. The conquest of the Pannonian and Transylvanian basins ended fairly late, somewhere in the 13th century when the Teutonic Knights were invited to expand the borders inside Transylvania. Then in 1526, Hungary was conquered by the Ottoman empire and stopped existing as a geopolitical entity until the 19th century, when the Hungarians revolted against the Austrians in 1848, which unfortunately failed and were put again under Austrian rule for 70 more years.

So, you should learn some history. And, at that time, there was no war between Romania and some comunist state. So, no double capitulation in WW I from Romania. The alliance with USSR was in WW II. So you should study more. 😉 This is adressed to the video creator.

    I honestly think that this is one of the most likely scenarios for a Soviet victory since at the end of the war, even if the Americans joined the allies, the Soviets would be able to conquer all of Europe and with Trotsky not being able to, perhaps they would try to expand militarily into India and Africa with In the end, the Soviets took all of Eurasia and Africa while the Americans created an alliance with all of America and the United Kingdom

    Learned from the turkish mistake, now atleast acknowledging what the *literal topic of the video* would be doing.
    However, you really just want to play around with a trotsky and a really strong soviet union. Also, that little mention of Japan happening as you said, would make much different korean borders (because of the much stronger communists).
    But for how little the allies did, they probably wouldn't be given that Rhineland germany thingie you didn't talk about.
    Look, I'm not trying to be an asshole, pointing out every little stupid detail but those said little details are kinda the point of alt history, no?

    • @rewriting-history
      @rewriting-history  Před 5 měsíci

      I appreciate this comment and getting better. I do agree with you, except the allies not getting the Rhineland. It's true that they didn't do anything, but the balance of power needs to be preserved. This should avoid a conflict between both sides, which I think they would want, at least initially.

    I don’t think that the Axis would do that badly in WW2 considering that their technology was superior and their ability to completely neutralise the Soviet Air Force. They wouldn’t push to Moscow but most likely would be able to reach Riga and or Kiev if they’re lucky. Kiev is a stretch but you get the idea. Great video though!

    • @CipiRipi-in7df
      @CipiRipi-in7df Před 5 měsíci +1

      I respectfully disagree. German technological superiority over USSR wasn't that overwhelming even in our time line. But tactical, operational and doctrinal experience was overwhelmingly superior in actual time line. But with Great Purge and Holodomor off the table, Red Army would keep its best officers and commanders. And under Trotzky, political commesars won't get that much power as under Stalin. So, IMO, Red Army would act more coherent ans sharply in opening stages of WW2.

    • @jenskuipers4598
      @jenskuipers4598 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@CipiRipi-in7df It was somewhat overwhelming on a smaller scale being out manoeuvred due to radios and no air support due to much superior air technology. Overall though, i wouldn’t have called it overwhelming or a major reason of German success in 1941.
