    Excellent walkthrough video, thank you for sharing your thoughts! I just received this deck and book and it's the most incredible deck I own so far! I adore it. Uusi did a great job creating this deck.
    Bless.

    Im so glad you made this video. I'm looking forward to an update down the line! I was also surprised it wasn't as Marseilles as I thought it would be and a bit shocked about the Christian hints in there. They were SO close to perfection; I hope they listen to some of these critiques and make a FULLY pagan 2nd edition, and also make a more coherent choice over RWS versus Marseilles. It is beautiful, and I've enjoyed the extra cards for timing, spiritual tips and the significator. But, yeah. Juuuust missed the mark.

    .i ordered this deck a few weeks ago. So expensive to get it delivered to uk. And the guide book is separate 😕 but the art work looks fantastic. So glad you did a walk through.

    Such a thorough review, thanks so much for taking the time to do it. I have the deck and love the imagery. Currently I'm trying to get the hang of remembering the pips and how they do/don't reflect the imagery of the RWS.

    I love your videos! I almost bought this deck last night as an impulse buy, but at 50$ the price is kinda steep so I'm happy to see such a thorough review! I don't think I'll end up purchasing or using this deck, but I love love love their Pagan Playing Card deck.

    The butterflies on the King and Queen of Swords are in the RWS. There are carved depictions of butterflies on both of their thrones and on the queen's crown.

    Hello and thank you for such a thorough insightful first impressions. I wonder if you could say more about the use of animals that you were unsure about from the beginning? I apologize if you did say more and I missed it.
    Also, taking another look at the Page of Wands,.....it looks like he's wearing a panther coat? The 2 legs with the paws on the left?
    Thanks again, Anne

    I watched your walkthrough of this deck because I wanted to hear what your impressions were and if they matched my own. I was thrown off a bit by the same cards you singled out. Then I read The Circle of Ceridwen by Octavia Randolph and the discordant cards made a bit more sense. The Circle of Ceridwen is a series of 9 books (if you count Sidroc the Dane that should be read first) and takes place in the late 800s. Just as Christianity was beginning to push out paganism so you have that blend of belief systems working throughout the story.
    You have given me so many good book tips and now I realized that I could pass one on to you which made me feel really good! The above mentioned series is the kind that leaves you in a bind when you finish because nothing that good is at hand to read. Octavia Randolph has a website where she takes you to many of the places mentioned in the books.😊💓

    Loved hearing your thoughts on this deck. Uusi is Finnish for "New" (I know this because I've been re-learning Finnish since October. Oo-see is how it is pronounced but with the oo sound being extended slightly.) The more I see this deck, the less I like it and I've come to a point where I actually don't want this deck anymore. It feels it's a bit too "meh" for me. There are gorgeous cards but don't get me wrong.

    New babies are born...naked. I read sun card as fertility, new child coming into ones life, children come into our lives in a variety of ways so it does not always mean "pregnancy" bt could mean close friends child, child visiting, grandchildren, aunt/uncle, niece, nephew. When I see the sun card i remember when my children were born. that beautiful pink glow & yes we do look to see if it is boy or girl. we naturally examine our brand new infant. As for your distaste that is because of the child porn --psychopaths & this sick society we are currently in. One must not ignor though the beauty of a brand new child & the happiness of that joy. Love your videos --truly you give great analysis so we can shop wisely for our decks. all my love, tarot reader.

    • @TheTruthinStory
      @TheTruthinStory  Před 5 lety

      I love the way you describe this card, I think my bigger problem is that I actually read the Sun card as very strong, masculine, happiness that comes from mastery due to my first and only deck for many years so it throws me off when I see a (often strangely portrayed) baby there but I love your definition and will sit with that! :D Thank you so much for sharing!!

  • @lizevans4708
    @lizevans4708 Před 6 lety

    This deck has beautiful artwork, but it seems confused as to what it wants to be. Is it Roman Christian? Roman Pagan? Is it more rider Waite? Is it trying to be Marseille? What's with the moon cards? Is it an oracle deck as well? It seems the creator was inspired by many things and decided to throw it in the deck. In my opinion, tarot needs structure, whether the theme is pagan, or if it is Marseille, or Thoth or rider Waite, or a whole new system, it needs to have some kind of consistency in my opinion. Thanks for the video!

    I recently got this deck. Has anyone figured out how to use the luna cards?

    • @TheTruthinStory
      @TheTruthinStory  Před 7 lety +1

      +Jenifer Putnam I just use them to set out on shelves, I mean you could certainly shuffle them in and take the energy of the moon and add it to the reading like an oracle card if it showed up but I'm not generally one to add one extra card into a tarot deck let alone all of those!

  • @annerobinson2288
    @annerobinson2288 Před 4 lety

    I have taken the full moon extra card to substitute for the Sun card with the baby which I do not like. That's the one card that i don't like. Also, I don't feel great about the Page of Wands with the cat legs and paws and catlike mask. I am pretending they only used "roadkill" so to speak, to make their clothes out of. Haha.

    Any recommendation for someone who doesn't want to purchase the guidebook?

    • @TheTruthinStory
      @TheTruthinStory  Před 2 lety

      If you don't want to purchase the guidebook (understandably) then I would maybe make a journal guidebook of your own and look up each of the concepts on the cards and set some keywords and basic ideas down to work with! It would be a good project that would help you really sink into the concepts :)

    off topic but what do you think about adder stones or hag stones? I've had one for years but never knew it had mystical properties. i just found it on the beach and thought it was cool, a stone with a big hole in it

  • @waldfrauke
    @waldfrauke Před 7 lety +3

    I do have the pagan playing cards from uusi and I love them, but this tarot I do not like. I am less forgiving as you are for the christian slip ups and I rather use my druid craft :-)

    • @TheTruthinStory
      @TheTruthinStory  Před 7 lety

      Aha, nothing will topple my Druidcraft :D

    • @waldfrauke
      @waldfrauke Před 7 lety +2

      to clarify: I have nothing against the christian symbology in other decks (I also have the Llewellyn Tarot, wich I used before I found the DruidCraft), I used the Rider Waite for the longest time, but in pagan decks I want pagan symbology. I also do a "three voices" reading, I use a nine card spread of DruidCraft Tarot, then put nine cards of the Keltic Lenormand on top and the again on top nine runes. Great "big picture". :-)
