You would probably LOVE the channel "Polyphonic Tarot". He hasn't made a video in a while, but he reads mostly with Thoth. It is AMAZING to see him read! The playlists are only for the card definitions. You'll have to search the videos section for what interests you. He has studied Thoth for years and even talks about what books are best. He made me want to learn Thoth, but I haven't taken the plunge yet. You're brave!!

It's quite a plunge indeed 😜 sort of a never ending swim 😍 There are a small few channels I've found that delve fluidly into Thoth and those that do are committed...guess that's what sets Crowley's Thoth far apart from others...can't clone this one, lol

+purr bugaloo I did explore & read with Thoth but haven't learned enough be at ease when I "read" with Thoth. It's quite a long commitment to study & learn Crowley's Thoth. I can lay cards down and do my own thing kind of read like with any other deck just as anyone can do. So get the deck :D it's gorgeous and just use it like any other deck. Not to dishonor Crowley, but people can use their decks however- No rules, unless you want to belong to the cult or if Magik is your chosen path. I prefer Magic (with a "c") at this point in time. . i got distracted last year and swept away with Tarot Deck fever 😝 and at some point I'll end up full circle and get off the ride. I haven't read with Thoth for over a year..it was too detailed and at that time I was starting a downward spiral and couldn't bear to see it in the cards, So I switched to RW & then light n fluffy decks til I found the way back to my path :D Its a great deck to own, no matter how you read it 😊

I was about to ask what version of the deck this was and then read the comments. Amazing job done by whoever modified the deck. I love my thoth deck. I feel as if I could study it a lifetime however.
I read a great article by an English teacher who encourages writing in your book and being interactive rather than just receptive. I love it!!! Also, I love to see what other people have underlined or notes they've made.
I've only been attracted to this deck. Could never get into others.

Awesome Thoth deck btw. Love what your friend did with the trimming & gold edges. I also bought a large deck that I have waiting to trim too. I just been seaching for a proper gold maker or pen to edge with that will pop the most.

Thanks for the recommended books, managed to get them all. All ready have a book called "The Tarot Handbook: practical applications of Ancient Visual Symbols" by Angeles Arrien which specifically deals with the Throth deck.

I love the Thoth Deck it was my first tarot when I was 8 and I just starting useing it without any book. later on when I got older I got to read some books.on this
It's a deck I know I want to come back to and just do some using, I read a lot on it but I think the next time I come back I just need to give it its time on the table! :)

I have so much passion for Crowley's Thoth that I'm to afraid to leave a comment about my favorite Deck of all time & of all the "systems"...would most likely be misunderstood and don't want to fire up any haters or get banned 😱 I would, however suggest to use the whole deck...all of the cards for a reading...if you want to be amazed :D

I just wanted to be clear on the background of 55:54 on behalf of my culture. Nut is not a pagan deity nor is Horus for this card to be a "pagan" card. Pagan and Christianity are more relation to each other.This is an Ancient Egyptian card.(I'm learning a lot from you,thank you for your time learning all you can.You make people great)

I would recommend practicing awareness of where the deck is or projecting feelings upon it rather than using amulets.
People who are going to trim it should make sure they have memorized that first. If I was to do that, I would definitely save the borders for other usage.
A king can still be very active.
The Thoth seems about as real to life as a deck can get.
A little white book might be enough, but every person working an oracle needs more than prosaic traditional meanings and uses.
The name is shadow and the category in light works well with me.
The outer forms may be very Christian seeming in some decks, but Christianity really did not bring any unique messages; when the names are removed.
I thought that is literally a version of Thoth deck with golden edge. Knowing it trimmed and added the gold edge is so making me envy. I wanna have one...

I'VE JUST NOTICED SOMETHING!
In the Adjustment card, the lady is holding a sword. That sword looks exactly like the Ace Of Swords. It looks like the same exact sword that's on the Ace Of Swords card. The difference is that the color is slightly different but it looks exactly the same!
Some Gay Guy it is indeed the same sword, and the charioter is also holding the ace of cups. Those little things and themes are woven through the deck
It's the Sword of the Magus.
Godddddssss I have always loved the imagery of the Thoth tarot, and hopefully mine will arrive soon! When you posted that you were getting the Thoth tarot was around the time I ordered my own copy after having it in my wishlist for at least a year. We seem to be starting our exploration around the same time! I look forward to seeing more videos about this deck from you. Who knows, I may even do some myself

There's a fb group called Tarot With Scissors. People post pics of their trimmed decks. It helps convince you to take the plunge. ;)

It the large thoth deck in the green box. You can find it a Barns & Noble or ebay. I found a bunch on Ebay, but you have to remember that it's going to need a trim & you'll need to buy a gold marker to edge with, hehe. I just purchased that thoth deck, a paper trimmer, good pair of scissors, coner puncher & a gold & silver maker /piant pen to edge with so it comes out like the one in this video.
Imagine creating life, carrying it, birthing it (or giving life to it), and then sustaining it with your own milk, and calling that "passive" or "receptive", lol. Mega reversal.
I only wanted to get one of Banzhaf's Thoth handbook and ended up getting the other one because for some reason a lot of thoth readers do not like the keyword book. But now I might get that too :)
+Nobody Here Well I am by no means an expert clearly, but I like it quite a bit. NOT that I would recommend it as an only source, but in conjunction with other texts, I quite like it.
The reason most people who study Crowley & his Thoth deck are apposed to the Keyword books is because they are not based on Crowley's work which is not a quick learn or quick study...but are rather someone else's short cut, their opinions and their own simplified interpretation which are misleading insofar as understanding Crowley's Thoth. Many people have no understanding of tree of life or Thoth (the God) etc and Crowley somehow infused that as well as others & numerology, astrology & more to devise a totally unique system...and I recommend any one wanting to experience Thoth to buy Crowley's "Book of Thoth" BY Aliester Crowley and research his other works...it's not for everyone..I'll be quiet now 😨 I do not mean to offend anyone, it's not your average pick up & read intuitively sort of deck (if indeed you want to "know" Crowley's Thoth), but of course you can do that too...it is, after all, just a deck in the end. :)
+melissa.m I heard about that and I can see why :) Really. Which is why I have three Thoth "handbooks" (not sure what you call it) while I feel you only need one for Waite's. His book of Thoth is a bit too much for some :( I really don't want to get into his whole Thelema thing..... But if I have to it is OK too but his Thoth book is just..... :/ BUT I know I will have to take a look at it one day. I so far have DuQuette's book, the other book by Banzhaf, and Snuffin. Those seemed to be the three books most Thoth readers can agree to recommend for beginners....

How many cards are in the Thoth deck? Are there extras?
I have a set in a box with an Egyptian eye on the lid. I just want to know if I'm playing with a full deck. I have repeatedly counted 79. Is a card missing?
There should be 78, but I have heard of some decks having a single extra Unicursal Hexagram card and then other decks having 2 extra Magician cards :)
I feel like such an idiot. I was counting them out face down. I count my cards after readings to make sure I didn't lose any cards. You are right. There are 78. There were just two extra cards that had nothing to do with the deck. I'm new to the Thoth tarot, so live and learn I guess. I appreciate your kindness. I make stupid little mistakes like that. It's just that I get so excited! I'm sure you can relate.
Why is it that people just describe each card... Of the thoth deck. And I hat wasting money on bad books.
Why does it say 22 when there are 24 paths in the Torah?
There are 22 major arcana cards in the tarot, also 22 paths on the Kabbalistic tree of life, and 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet.

You should not be throwing these images at people Willy Nilly like this! This kind of open display you are doing degrades the strong effect of the images on the collective subconscious within that guides our hands as we shuffle and deal out these cards.
You should take this video down for the sake of all those that use this deck. You are undermining the effectiveness of this deck with this video.
