- Copy & paste this link urlgeni.us/amz... for the full list of supplies I used for this art deco Eliel Saarinen mahogany dresser! Eliel is the father of Finnish-American architect and industrial designer, Eero Saarinen, who created a wide array of innovative designs for buildings and monuments, including the gateway arch in St. Louis! Crazy 🤯🤯🤯
Here’s how I flipped it!
+ scraped with carbide scraper
+ sanded with 120 grit
+ cleaned off dust
+ filled in chipped veneer with wood filler, sanded smooth once dry
+ applied oil based wood conditioner, let it sit for overnight
+ applied @myoldmasters gel stain in fruitwood
+ used my @mohawkfinishing blendal sticks to hide veneer repairs
+ sealed with Mohawk satin lacquer
What do you think?!? Such a crazy piece of modern architectural history! I’m so shook! Now… would you pay $3,000 for this crazy mid century modern furniture flip???? Let me know in the comments!! 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

You're SO respectful to your craft. This is why I keep coming back to your channel.
Don't worry about lack of experience. The fact that you want to keep it as close to the original as possible without slapping paint here, there and everywhere for the sake of it says a lot.
Oh my gosh thank you! I appreciate it so much! ❤️
This is so cool! I’m interested in woodworking/restoring old furniture and flipping but don’t know where to start. The pieces that you’ve worked on already turn out so beautiful! It’s very satisfying to see what an old piece of furniture can become with a little work and passion for the craft!
ik its not true to the og but i personally prefer the contrast of the rich red version
Ahhhh I did like it too but I just wanted to restore it to its original condition! Maybe the next time I come across mahogany I’ll keep it red!!!
I have a mahogany desk which my parents had made for me in the late 60s. It's reddish. I wouldn't recognize that type of wood if it wasn't red.
ME TOO! 😢 ... but get the logic of "original".
Pupper: "... and I helped and then we had snacks and cuddled! It was a lot of fun!". Kidding aside - yes, this piece is worth the investment when one has appreciation of irs history and the restoration effort. It's something the owner will see every day and get a jolt of "Aahhh...", "Ooh..." and actual conversations. Better than a piece of jewelry IMHO!
Thank you, that is very well said!
Love it and nope, aint got that kind of money to spend on a dresser. But it is one fine looking dresser!!!
Thank you so much!
This would be a lottery purchase for me. If I hit it... I could afford it... So I would get it.
Yes I would!
🥰🥰🥰
👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!!
👍👍👍👍👍
I don't like that all your videos are one minute long. I think it'd be nice if they were longer and you explained things in more detail
Thats on my list of things to do!
Nope
😂
