      Actually most of the influencers doing that does get caking but the videos all have filters and you don't see it. It does have some that actually shows the reality. Same happens to 20s too as it's natural with laughing and smiling

    • @Yutamii
      @Yutamii Před 2 měsíci +1

      They're all doing too much to sell the products they're using so they can get more money, dont watch influencers watch experts, skincare over glam makeup, influencers exist to sell you products, experts actually have skills. All of those people use filters and lighting to make the makeup look good. Less is always more those 15 layers they apply make no sense and they probably break out for a week after doing a video like that. skin care before you do any makeup its way too important

    Kind of off topic, but related, as a gal with oily eyelids, I like to wipe eyelids with a cotton pad with micellar water on it before applying my eyelid primer. This helps remove excess oil to prevent creasing. I have also found that it is essential to use eyelid primer vs concealer to prime the lids. 💞

    I love your videos because of the thorough way in which you explain things. What I would love, as I seem to struggle with this, is what kind of primer works best for the various types of foundation you are using. I am 52 this year and I find that my makeup base usually looks beautiful immediately after applying it, but as the wear time goes by, I find it begins to look cakey and to sink into every bit of my texture and wrinkles, making everything more noticeable. My skin is normal with very little discoloration. Just a dark spot that is somewhat faded and an occasional blemish. I was never a person who did a lot of tanning or partying and I never smoked, so honestly, I am pretty happy with my skin and how it looks. The dark circles and tiny wrinkles are my biggest issues and I just can't seem to figure out the whole layering process and what works best with what. Or what, at my age, is the best type of foundation there is for me anyway? CZcams is very informative but is so full of varying information, it can be a little confusing and overwhelming at times. So basically, HELP!

    I’m sure you hate it because I do as well, but I love that you have some bags and wrinkles to show the before and afters. It’s hard to take it from someone who has smooth under eyes.

    Thank you my favorite makeup artist. 😬. I am 64, and don’t have darkness under my eyes. I started adding a pin point of highlighter to my eye cream and it gives such a pretty luminous look. The key is just a teeny tiny bit of the highlighter. But, the effect is luminous and beautiful! Love it! And, I don’t need powder after! Yay! ❤️

    Hi Wayne, Using the tissue to blot off the excess really helps. I found a very moisturizing eye cream that has urea in it. Always get lazy about using a setting powder at the end. 😉 The key for me is to use the least amount of concealer as possible, and to press it in using using my pinky or ring finger like you demonstrated. The warmth from the fingers, I think works better than using a brush, but that’s just a preference. Thanks for all of your tips & tricks. I’ve learned so much from you ! ☺️💜☺️

    My jaw is oh so attractively hanging open - you're showing my exact routine 😲 from the urban decay eyeshadow primer after 2 coats of moisturizer to the dabs of powder using a brush. I swear it could not have been more than 2 months ago that I felt I had finally gotten this down to a science. Yes, I feel all braggy & proud, but no worries, I'm well aware that any self attempt at a 5 minute tutorial will put me right back in my place 👊

      Would it be helpful to use primer on eyelids. My issue is concealers creases on my lids and collects into a line which looks bad.

    • @TheRealMerBer
      @TheRealMerBer Před rokem

      @@saniaz680 I've definitely had better results since using a primer (specifically eye primer or a mix of my own primer & concealer) but you MUST let it completely absorb/set prior to concealer. If you're willing to try something different, I've recently found something that works even better for me that I had seen somewhere on CZcams. This was more for dark circles or discoloration but it's made such a difference that I've been able to keep a lighter touch on my lids (there's no applying the concealer directly on my lids as it eventually gets blended out from the inner corner) After my normal skincare routine I use a pink or red cream blush or even lip color (the video I watched said to use pink but it looked to me like a dark pink so, although I have light skin I tried darker pinks and even red & was pleasantly surprised to find they worked for me...but stay away from the usually recommended peach or orange ) I apply it just inside the inner corner area, including the upper and lower inside lid corners 👉

      Can I ask do you do this with primer and concealer straight after applying eyecream and before foundation or do you let the eyecream dry in/absorb do your foundation then do the primer concealer?

    • @TheRealMerBer
      @TheRealMerBer Před rokem

      @@ashleighjohnston9725 I apply my skincare and I don't purposely wait until it absorbs, but I think for the most part it's absorbed. As for foundation, I mix my own with a primer so it blends very easily - I'll put that on as if it's moisturizer and that includes my eyes, and I do that before I do the color correcting bc I don't need as much correction after my foundation mixture. Honestly, I would play around with some of the tips you've heard and see what works best for you. All of these tips on CZcams are great, and I'm sure they work for many people, but you'll find them most useful if you go in with a flexible mindset. Good luck!

    Hi Wayne I just wanted to share what I do. I follow everything you say here but the only thing I do differently is I use a clean make up sponge to absorb the excess concealer instead of tissue. I found with some tissue, it can leave an imprint or lint on the concealer making it look textured as it dries. Using the clean sponge (preferably lightly damp with water or setting spray or even dry) helps prevent that. Sometimes I even roll the sponge within the wrinkles to remove excess product. The ELF concealer sponge is perfect for this. Thanks for all you do Wayne 😁👍🏽
