The kinetic manifesto was actually the first video for the song. The official video was a complete surprise. We had no idea that it had been filmed. Both of them were filmed in LA while BTS was there for the promotions for the release of the Map of the Soul album. It was just before the lockdowns started.
Fun fact... Jin's jacket is originally just plain black, but he felt that it needed to stand out more so they spray painted the front of the jacket.

A couple of fun facts:
1. The beat for the dance break for On was created by Suga around 11 years ago. ARMY first heard it when they posted a video in BangtanTV of Suga doing a review of a Maschine mk2.
2. The title ON is the reverse of their first comeback song, N.O.
Regarding V’s “tattoo”: He had a an extended drawing of a thorn bush hand drawn from his chest and up his throat. Under his right eye was written a sentence. Forgive me, I’ve forgotten what it says since it’s been such a long time since I saw the “making of” video - which I HIGHLY recommend! 🫶💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 💜💜

Yes, there is document on "On" it is called "On documentary" it is like 10 minutes... It is mostly about music and musicans that take part in making this song and album.
It was very hot when they did that dance video, it is LA all this concred... It was avrually very hard to film 😋
Also this was first video that we got like, so we had dance and music and it was great, do actually everyone was like "how they beat this with MV, what have to be in MV to stand next to this superior oerformance video" everyone was wating and it was like 2 weeks or 3 that we waited for official MV.
And it was very interesting video in the end totally different too.
(It was fun time bc when MOTS7 was coing come theu give us comeback trailer "Interlude Shadow" then little overvweek later we got "Outro Ego", then they give us "On .... minifesto film" as first single and album promotion, then they give us Black swan second single but in the form of Art film, so song was different then the one on album later, then next few weeks we got ON official MV, and album come out and we found that Black swan has titally different music then video, that audio for ON dosen't have bance break part and Shadow is 1 minute longer and tgere us full second verse, then like two weeks later as suprise we get official MV for Black swan, the promotion for MOTS7 was creazy, like we were suprised an every front 😋)
Ahh it is very nice look at the MV, that story in video is look at it as their fight and survival in industry, there is actually a lot exolanation that are connected to religion this also made sens like you do "wow" when you see some. I watched a lot of them and even viedo where priest reactes to this mv and this was interesting too. But there is even more movie references then you catch haha 😉
On is my all time favourite especially the kinetic manifesto film mv when I need an energy boost. It's a bummer they didn't get to promote/perform in front of live audiences when the song was released because of the covid hit right at the time

Turns out that Pride Rock is based on a real California rock formation near where they filmed the official video.
Also, ARMY is around 10 years old, so that's why they use a child to represent us.
No More Dream was the name of their debut single.
First person you see in the Kinetic Manifesto version is the (then) 19 year old choreographer, I'm sorry I've forgotten her name. She also did Dionysus.
There's not only a "making of" video for these videos, but a video about the musical collaboration, i think it's called "Dialogue", that is very worth watching.

The Kinetic Manifesto was my first video I watched of theirs and I was hooked immediately. I had a hard time taking my eyes off of Jimin through out the video,he just caught my attention from the moment he started singing.

There are different explanation videos of ON here on yt, but it's been awhile which one is good, so someone else might recommend which one to watch... or search & watch all of them, idk. As far as which ON version I like, I prefer Kinetic because of the `kinetic` energy choreo & the marching band aspect, since I used to be in junior high & high school orchestra bands (sousaphone/tuba/baritone/keyboards), which was all 6 years, & at one point for a tiny bit we had to march on the football field, heh. As far as the marching, I was awful, lmao, but that was because we didnt have much practice. And the Official ON actually reminds me of the movie Maze Runner. There was also another version of ON with Australian singer Sia, but many have said it was not necessary, which you may understand if & when you listen to it, heh.
