  • Mexican Olympic Marathoners Jesus Arturo Esparza (2:11 PR) and Jose Luis Santana (2:10 PR) are preparing for the Houston Marathon in 8 weeks time. Training volume is currently at it's peak and on the program today is 7 x 2km intervals - the first 5 of them at 71sec/lap pace and the final 2 a little faster.

    Thanks to sweat elite to have come to México and Watch those guys doing their workout for 2022 Houston Marathon. Although some of them will be in the México City Marathon in November 28, 2021.

      Oiga profe pero no le parece que repeticiones de 400 a 1.11 como que esta lento, yo me acuerdo que Arturo Barrios jalaba repeticiones de 400 a 1min, una opinion personal nomas! Saludos profe Martinez!

      @@diegovanegas3962 son series de 5 vueltas (2,000m) a 71 seg por vuelta (2:58 por km) a una altitud de 2,200 m sobre el nivel Del Mar. No está mal ese trabajo

      Diego Vanegas sr. A la altura de la ciudad de México!!! Correr a 2:48 por kilometro! Y dice que son lentos!! ?? El trabajo es específico para maratón, no para romper el récord del mundo en 10.000 metros....ese ya es otro mundo!!!!

    The athlete at 4:36 with the blue jacket Is Brenda Flores, she won the Panamerican 10,000 title in Canada against Desire Linden, she's also an Olimpian. Too bad you couldnt see Juan Joel Pacheco (2:09 marathon) & Daniela Torres, Juan got an injury after Tokio 😣.

      At least you guys have public tracks, or that’s how it seems.
      In California (and most of the U.S. I believe), all the tracks are on school properties, and as a result, VERY few of them are open to the public.
      Don’t need rules on the tracks when nobody can access it in the first place.

      @@yourunclemaurice6234 yeah I found that surprising too. In Australia we have public tracks. Our schools don't have those facilities. Footy ovals, soccer fields, tennis, basketball and net ball courts but not athletics tracks.

      esas reglas no son "extrañas" son las reglas para uso de una pista de atletismo, si gustan pueden leer el reglamento de agrimensura de cualquier lugar del mundo, y se deben aplicar especialmente en un pais como el nuestro en donde la quieren usar para ir a caminar, a platicar y trotar por el carril 1, obvio en USA esas pistas que usan para esos videos, son pistas practicamente privadas y hacen lo que quieren en ellas, pero las bicicletas dañan el tartán

    ¡Super padre que te toco ver a los atletas profesional de México! Not quite what I expected as far as conditions around the track, lots of joggers and others training. Different facilities around the world reserve them for elites only.

    Who else noticed that between 20:28 and 20:39 they seem to have used the wrong footage, right at 20:28 the marathoner in the Nike blue singlet is wearing spikes and then the footage shows him wearing alphaflys, and then spikes again.
    Still great video from Sweat Elite, and kudos for showing some awesome latinamerican athletes!

    I guess static stretching before a workout is still a thing there! Very interesting to see the differences in philosophy.

      Yup! Coaches here still think that static stretching prevent muscle contracture and stiffness, but science says the opposite.
      I discuss that with my coach a lot 🤣
