  • Just a simple little install of some Kenwood 3 1/2's in the front dash speakers of my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. these will replace the factory dash speakers that come with the factory amplified Alpine system. These Kenwoods have a nice 2" tweeter and a full coverage 3 1/2 mid bass speaker and will greatly improve the sound of the factory system.

    Dude this was one of the best install videos I have seen. Straight to the point and do a great job explaining everything.

    I ordered one a couple weeks ago It's called the Coverking Topliner! It just came in the mail so it's not installed yet! Do the speakers improve the sound alot ? Awesome video Thank You.

      Yes I have my install video on the cover king top liner I just installed on mine. I also laid out sound deadening material as well. Just wish the adhesive was a little better with the top liner kit I had to get them to send me another set of adhesive.
      Yes, More than I thought they would. Made the phone through the stereo sound better also since all sound for that comes from the front left dash speaker.

    i suggest to others jbl 3 ohm for fronts adds volume no need for amp. i also used jbl club for the sound bar. made almost zero difference. the sound bar points straight down. waste of 500$. i was advised as much by local installer. he was correct...that money could have given me a better amp and sub although mine is fine. installer also suggested the lower dash speaker upgrade is a good idea if not getting a sub....

    Hello, can you please get your comments one year later if everything its gonna be ok with the Kenwoods?

      Many people have had them in for years without issues. I have since sold this Jeep.

    I'm getting conflicting information; some say to install WITH the capacitors still attached to the speakers to keep the "lows" out of the speakers and others say (like you) say they aren't needed - pull them off and wire them directly into the OEM harnass......

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  Před rokem

      I guess that depends on if you want the lows to come through or not. I didn’t use them and it sounded great for me.

      @@KnightsGarage I removed them as well. Then asked crutchfield about it and they "yelled" at me saying not to use them without else the speaker could be damaged. I dunno

      @@Usafle Crutchfield says a lot of stuff. But there are a bunch of people that have remove them and haven’t had any issues. There’s already a crossover built into the radio for those front speakers. They’re not gonna receive any signals that will damage them.

      I’m going to be doing 35’s don’t want o go too crazy. Thought about another 1/2 to 1 inch lift also.

      @@KnightsGarage I have 35s now with 2in caps on stock and I don't like the ride quality

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      @@MrMsnickolson mine rides pretty good. I’ve heard good things about the Gladiators readability after small lifts and bigger tires. Only issue is anything bigger than 37’s or 3 inch lift you get issues. Need gearing and steering upgrades.

      The speaker? The dimensions are listed on Crutchfield website I didn’t measure them they fit with plenty a room under the factory speaker grills.
