- I just received the Atomos Ninja Inferno and wanted to take it for a test drive with the GH5 before a big upcoming project. What better place to test than a park with the fam! I must say, it's a really amazing little monitor. A bit power hungry but it produces such an amazing image. Great for anamorphic shooting too. The prores codec out of the Atomos can handle a strong grade really well. Specs below.

Quick follow up ! I just bought the setup without the anamorphot for now.
Did it fit easily on the lens ? Because resellers are telling me there's a good chance it doesn't fit (even though i showed them your vid) Which step up ring did you use?
Hey Mr. Butterfly. Sorry about the delayed response. I'm not sure which anamorphot you got but I have the anamorphot-50 1.33x. It works with any lens that has a 62mm or under. I use a 52mm to 62mm step up ring. I've also heard of people using a step down ring allowing the use of larger lenses however, I have no experience doing this myself. Hope that helps. Really beautiful footage. I have the gh5 and normally shoot Vlog L, but after seeing your video and going to try CineD as you have done a stunning job. Can you elaborate on some of the settings? I've literally been sitting here all week while on vacation with the manual learning settings. I'm a videographer but aspiring cinematographer.
Things like picture profile, custom settings, etc? I brought this camera knowing that if I couldn't make cinematic looking footage it was my fault. But, I just can't seem to get quite that filmic look.

Thank you so much! :) Nope. I shot this in standard 16:9. I don't think you can record 4:3 with the Atomos. I hope they offer that in the future.

Also, do you use autofocus at all?
The GH5s anamorphic mode is just unsqueezing the footage when using anamorphic glass. Two different things there, hopefully that helps

Good job man! I actually have an upcoming project considering using SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33 on RED Scarlet-W (EF) camera. Do you have any recommendations on EF mount lenses? Does RED Scarlet-W hold up a good quality image like your Panasonic GH5 did?

might be a dumb question... but youtube is giving me an option to choose "5K; 2880" quality. does this have something to do with the camera or the anamorphic adapter?
Hey Visual Anothony. It's because this is actually shot in 5k. After I desqueeze the footage, it's new resolution is 5k.
did u use rangefinder?
I did not use a rangfinder on this one. Had to dual focus. It was rough. ha!
the image still sharp at high aperture based on reviews above f4 it will get soft imagery.. thanks man!
