The Badlands of South Dakota \\\\ Sony A7siii \\\\ Sony 200-600mm
Every time I experience the badlands it always leaves me amazed that places in the world like this exist. We only spent one day and night in the badlands yet we still experienced so much nature. The bison were such powerful animals to witness so closely. Just to simply listen to them wallow around on the silent prairie was an experience in itself.
The A7siii still proved to be such a perfect camera for this short trip. The autofocus worked terrific, especially with the Sony 200-600. If you are starting to dive into doing anything nature or wildlife related, I can't recommend the Sony 200-600 G enough. Link in the description. This is the best footage I seen in this camera and it goes to show that you don’t need the newest body I believe as long if you have some sort of raw at least 4k you can make a beautiful image

Beautiful! Can you tell me if the focus ring on the Canon 35mm is good? Is it smooth enough to use manual focus?
It's not bad, but it's certainly not designed with video in mind. It doesn't have hard stops, but the friction gets harder once it does hit the edges. The grip is also nice. It's still one of my favorite lenses, and I've managed just fine with manual focus.

Still amazing even in 2023-2024 standard. And even if you crop to make it 16:9 aspect ratio, it still better than most 1080p 120p camera.

It’s center focus blurry with “character” . Just do it in post to regular footage. With blurs, etc. U can get the same luck. Distort the image as well

Why not just use a wider angle lens? What is the point to use cheap glass in this booster with the superb quality of my zeiss lenses? That would not make much sense to me.
Is your question, why not use a "wider angle lens" instead of using a speedbooster? - I much prefer the compression from larger format sensors. I get more focal depth from a scene and I also have more flexibility in low light. I usually prefer super 35/M43 sensors when shooting telephoto (wildlife or sports). I hope that provided some clarity... It's true, I didn't have access to "your superb quality zeiss lenses". Are you suggesting I should have used your zeiss lenses for "my" project? That's a bit of an odd critique, wouldn't you say? 😜
