How To Sync Multiple Video & Audio Tracks In LumaFusion

  • In this LumaFusion tutorial, we are taking a look at how to easily sync and edit multi-track videos in LumaFusion on your iPad or iPhone. There are some tricks you can do to help you line up and sync your b-roll footage or perhaps a separate audio track that you have recorded. Sometimes B-Roll footage does not need to sync up but there are those times when it must especially when filming a task with an A and B camera so you can edit in some different angles. In this video I show you how to import and sync your B-Roll footage to your main timeline.

    Thanks for this tutorial! I went with my family to a parade. While I filmed from one side of the road, another family member filmed the B-roll from the other side. I then used some of the louder noises of the parade as clappers.

    Good stuff! You probably already know that you can also “triple tap” the clip with good audio to create a copy of the audio track from that video. That way you can have a completely separate audio track and mute all video tracks.

    I have a question about the WD My Passport Wireless Pro drive. I recently bought one for the purpose of using it with Luma Fusion. I put a bunch of files on it from SD cards and the iPad with their app. Then when I plug the drive into my Windows computer it says the drive needs to be formatted before I can use it. Do you know anything about this? Thanks.

  • @VictorSteiner

    Is there a way to turn the behavior at 5:27 off? I want to re-align the video and control-listen at that second but whenever I release the pencil after dragging one of the video to the spot where I think they are in sync (clapping wasn‘t possible on this recording, it‘s a singer and then the same guy plays piano to it so it didn‘t happen at the same time, we needed it on two seperate tracks) it jumps back to the beginning of the video. In your video it wasn‘t as bad because your sync point was right at the start, but mine is 50 seconds in.

  • @bennielaars
    @bennielaars Před 5 lety +5

    It would be nice if Lumatouch could include a function to just search for a short audio section on basis of the waveform and vertically align that, a sort of Shazam sequence. Then it would be 100% in sync and no need for this clapping.
    Until they do, this tip is helpful.

    So would this process work if I recorded myself playing the drums and I had an audio track I would use for reference to sync with the clean audio coming from an audio recorder? Once I have everything in sync, would I be able to delete the reference track and keep the clean audio track for the final edit with this process you shared? With Final Cut Pro, I used a program called Pluraleyes to do all the syncing but I am using LumaFusion more and more these days. Thank you!

      @@cre8tivity06 Yes, I would love LF to work like Adobe Rush here - no snapping. But LF snaps to the next frame. So I use at least 48 fps to make sure the snapping isn’t so much of an issue. I might use 60 going forward to be honest, the problem disappears at high frame rates. Maybe LF will address this in the next version.

      I think that’s LumaFusion snapping to the next frame of your video. The only solution is to up the frame rate, I think. Try 48 or 60 and you will be able to adjust more precisely.
