  • The Lower Great Range in one of the best and most fufilling Loops of my life! 16.5 miles and 5500 feet of elevation gain! Not bad for bagging 5 highpeaks in one day! Numbers 23-27 towards our 46er journey! 2 am start! Intentions of catching sunrise from sawteeth but was a little overcast. All the clouds were very high so we had clear views all day! This story is amazing! totally worth watching especially if you plan on doing the lower great range loop!

    Just did this today and enjoyed it. Thanks for making the video, it gives an excellent idea of what the trail will be like. Going from the Sawteeth intersection to Pyramid is just behind Seymour for me as the most grueling section of trail I’ve done.

    Fantastic video! I absolutely love your enthusiasm too. It’s really apparent that you found what I call “it” out there in the wilderness. It’s something words cannot describe, but it inundates your soul with pure joy and you’ve never felt more alive. I always get “it” each time I get back to the ADK. ‘Going to return to do Gothics and Sawteeth for the first time in a couple weeks. I’m beyond stoked, especially after watching this. Again, great work!

    Worst part of hiking the High Peaks is driving back home 😔 You two have fun together! I can't wait to traverse these this week's end! Your winter vlog on this was very helpful too🥶. J.Z. and company also made it enjoyable.

    I absolutely loved your video of this breathtaking area! I also subscribed to your channel because I want to watch everyone of your videos along with future videos. I'm from Pennsylvania and I love landscape photography. Starting some time this month I want to get up in the adirondacks a lot along with the other northeastern states. I was up in the Lake Placid region for the first time about a month ago. I was really struck by the awesome landscape beauty on my entire drive so I will be getting in to car camping and visiting that entire region many, many times. I really do appreciate the amount of time that you put into all of this to share and help others!
    Thank you so much Brian!

      @@BrianHikesAllDay I have hiked all over the adirondacks, but have still never done a high peak. I probably hiked about 250 miles in the high peaks region without ever doing more than about 1500 ft of elevation change on any hike.

      @@BrianHikesAllDay I’ve done a few. I personally like weekend backpacking, and I don’t really no anyone that does day hikes on the peaks, because we always want to camp, and we usually go places away from the crowds. Planning on doing the Northville/ placid this summer and the long trail in the fall, if covid doesn’t take over everything again.

    Legendary vid as always dude planning this soon do you remember by any chance how many miles it was from the start to Sawteeth? I’m planning for sunrise also trying to figure when to start

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
      @BrianHikesAllDay  Před rokem

      It was 6.7 miles to the summit. This was taking the easiest and most direct route to the summit. There is also a scenic trail that is extremely slow going and time consuming. If you’re going for sunrise I wouldn’t even think about taking that trail. But considering you’re probably taking the standard trail up that goes into the coal between pyramid and Sawteeth and making a left to go up to Sawteeth. 6.7 miles

      @@BrianHikesAllDay one more question brotha I know you guys hike pretty fast but from the car to the summit of sawteeth do you roughly know how long it took and isn’t most of the beginning of the hike on a road? I’m getting out of work late and have a four hour ride up there so just trying to judge how much sleep I’ll get in my car and when to wake up haha thanks man

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
