I went to see Joe Sample in downtown New Orleans & his backup was Gerald Albrecht. Never had heard of GA but WOW DOUBLE bang for my buck. Never forget it! And I’m 81 now.

I'm glad to see George's performance, which I like the most, on video. I've only listened to this performance on CD so far, but I was very moved by the expression of George's performance.
Just superb👍. George is an amazing guitarist, simply a master. Although rooted in traditional jazz standards, GB is able to inject just enough pop, funk, and blues to make his sound unique. and appeal to a very wide audience. He's the reason I play jazz today.

Yes George Benson has a big toolbox of performative tricks, but Joe Sample tread with the gods. His record as both a performer and a composer, stretches from Steely Dan, Michael Franks, The Crusaders, to Al Jerreau, and Bill Withers and many others.
Both of them are legends. In a class of their own. Totally awesome!! Love it!!

I'm so pleased that two of my favorite jazz musicians had a chance to get together to jam. My dream came true. With the passing of Joe Sample, this video is very valuable in memories and for the genre. Just at the way George is just feeding off of Joe has he just set it up. Just pure jazz magic.
