Solo skiff seems like a really good competitor for this at a much more competitive price point
But a Skiff can only hold 400 lbs. compared to 500 lbs on the BOTE.

What’s really neat about this is the ability to get up and move quickly to get on the fish. I’ve been fishing a predator min Kota and it takes a while to get anywhere. I cannot just get on the birds working. By the time I get to them they’ve moved and the fish as well. If I had this I’d be fishing under the birds all day and covering some serious distance. I just bought a center console flats boat or I’d consider something like this “board”

Man... Having one of these bad boys here in Sweden would've been amazing, the versatility of it is amazing for our wild lakes and most archipelago nature ramps... too bad shipping larger things like this to Sweden is crazy expensive... We just don't have motorfitted paddleboats or jon boats here...

I have a solo skiff, but it's cramped and it doesnt have much to any detachable accessories. Looking for a new Alternative and I think the Rover is the perfect fit.
I'd imagine this is probably $6,000 with the engine. I paid 4 for my pre-owned jet boat that went 60, room for 6, swim platform, 9 speaker stereo, bow cooler...

It's about the freedom most state don't require registration for small motors and paddle board float tubes ect....many people are building registration free watercrafts of all sizes I think it's great
One non negative comment from an engineer. This is what happens when you let engineering and drafting keep the project on the board as long as necessary. Too many companies (China) take the project away from engineering too soon and we end up having to work with junk.
hey just wondering what you think about the design and it was only in R&D for few months before icast 2018... im still on the fence about the tiny skiff idea ... solo skiff seams to be built tough with a purpose

Chad Collier if you get a small boat you need the register the trailer and get a boat license and not to mention a small boat is normally a v hull and doesn’t have a flat floor and towing the boat you need to buy a hitch and the sportspal is a lot less stable then the rover
Ben Ennis a sportpal is very stable. I stand flyfishing in one regularly.
for that price buy a small jon boat with a motor

try it with a 13 hp mud motor.. Now that would be fun... a long tail on it would really make it move a lot faster and better...
Video is definitely professional. But what about the storm? In the waves... In winter... Then it is really more practical for that same price a small boat...

An electronic motor is a better choice for this board. It's lighter, quieter and doesn't pollute the beautiful, pristine areas you are enjoying paddling and fishing in.
Ill be sticking with my Gheenoe.

i gave it thumbs down . proprietary accessories are the catch with money cause they are Non compatible with anything.
Buy tubing and a welder and make your own...
This would be sick for flyfishing on mountain lakes! Would have to stick with an electric motor though.

My 12 foot by 4'10" wooden boat is around $200 bucks of materials so far, and that's a gross over estimation, and I still have to put another 90 bucks or so, also a gross over estimation; of materials into it still.
Great product but u could just buy a Jon boat and motor for that price. More room and you can take more people.

Yea they should have priced this item for 1999... this is way too high priced and you still got to buy the motor and the attachments. I think it’s a very cool item just too expensive for the average person.

It would be the same as launching any boat. Depending on what motor you go with you would just flip it up out of the water until you were deep enough to lower and use to its full capacity.

I am making my own I have brought an outboard for £100 and I fetch a windsurf board without the sail used tomorrow for £20 it is a cheap way to get on the water

Very expensive for a craft like this. I don't see there being a big market do to the cost. If it was loaded in the 2500 to 3000 dollar range I think a huge number would sell. At this price I see the market extremely limited.
