Hey mate, how did you manage the rego & insurance in QLD? I'm thinking of similar build but not sure if rego / insurance of DIY boats is allowed here in NSW. If you can refer to some site that provides details would be great. Cheers.

It's cool! Super flat. I think having the rods under the deck is better than a rod stand. I really like how minimalist it looks. Super robotic and sleek.

    Totally cool craft.
Someone may of said it in comments but I think a seat mounted ahead of where you stand with a backrest frame and handle to hang onto while motoring instead of the rope. If you take a buddy they could sit in the seat or by yourself you could sit in to fish or if you need a break. Some people do not have good balance and are older and need a seat.
    Really liked the craft though.

So glad I followed this video set from start to finish! I enjoyed it, and learned quite a bit. Wonderful boat and the fact that you do not need much motor to get her up on a plain is wonderful. You look over the top excited about it brother, good for your! You put the work in and you got what you wanted for about a 10th the price. Way to go!
At about 14 min you showed some trailer damage in the front. Maybe something like a keel protector could prevent that. If you got a black one (and cut it to the size you needed) and ran it from left to right (on the lip of your boat), I think it would match your color scheme pretty well, and protect your pretty boat from that pesky trailer. ha ha
Cant wait to watch your adventures, so I can have proof to show my wife that I need to build a custom boat for myself. ha ha

Nice project! i always make up a bracket on the electric motor shaft to mount the transducer, just use some 20mm x 3mm alloy flat bar, bend into shape "round" to suit the shape of the shaft, make sure you leave enough room for a "tag" that the bolt will go through and use a stainless steel bolt to tighten/clamp it onto the shaft. point the transducer forward so you can scan whats coming up in front of you, always works a treat!

Had a thought on your seats. If one or two of your hatches you redo them so they are like they are now flush and all but when you open it it is like a scissor lift in action so it pops up and locked in place for a seat but when not needed or fishing and walking around you just push it down and it closes. Hope that made sense my friend. I can see in in my head just hope I explained it enough. Anyway thanks again and good luck fishing.

It would be cool if you had another one of those seat frames on the other side and used it to make a wrap around grab bar that folds out of the way. It would be like a little driving cage during transit with the gas engine. A bit safer than the rope Incase like stayed you hit a sand bar. Either way freaking awesome build man!
