    Koyna comes in Satara district, this region is very dense rainforest which comes in Sahayadri mountain range. Common soil here is black soil mixed with red soil, red soil common in downward region which is at sea level called Konkan. This region has many natural gas chambers under Shiv Sagar Jala sthan.

    महाराष्ट्रा का जो लँड है वो बेसोल्ट खडक से बना है, और कोयना ड्यम के नीचे भी बेसोल्ट है और वहा कि बेसोल्ट कि मात्रा कम होणे के कारण बारिश के वक्त वहा ज्यादा पाणी कि मात्रा बढ ने के कारण प्रेशर आता होगा
