सरकार को 2017-18 SGB सीरीज का पेमेंट करना है, कस्टम ड्यूटी कम करके मार्किट रेट 5% तक कम कर दिए अब सरकार को पेमेंट भी कम करना होगा। इससे सरकार को 9000 करोड़ का फायदा हुआ है।कुछ समय बाद कम हुए टैक्स को gold पर GST बढ़ा कर compansate कर लिया जाएगा।😂😂

It is misleading to tell people that Indian govt. has to pay the difference between buying price and selling price of SGB. To the best of my knowledge govt of India buys gold equivalent to SGB bought in market. They only have to pay the the interest amount which is no big deal until and unless they know how to use that gold or money properly. And this is how staking platforms works, we stake our assets and in return we get something and also our asset irrespective of price of asset. Just tell govt of India is incapable of handling it.

I didn't understand why government should pay increased gold amount on bonds, when the tenure comes to end another buyer is ready to purchase that bond on increased amount ??
2.5% PA interest rate applicable on bond ticket price and date of bond issue. Government has to pay 2017-18 SGB series. The gold price was 31,000 during 2017-18. It's 70,000 now. It means the bond holder is getting approximately 8.5% CAGR return.
No, interest of 12.3% for 7yrs(2017 june to 2024 june).

There is an other way of seeing this. With the uncertainty of world order, RBI and other governments are buying gold recently. The problem with RBI buying the gold is there is a limitation of fund. I see with reduction in duty - government is pushing people to purchase gold ( not paper gold ) and save it for long term. War is brewing, I certainly see this step a chance to buy and accumulate physical gold.

Honestly, I really appreciate the SGB initiative. Even though there have been some losses, the government seems to overlook a key point: gold prices tend to soar during economic downturns. Whenever stocks plummet for various reasons, gold prices typically rise. Precious metals like gold have consistently held their value, backed by over 500 years of data. Always remember, invest in gold and grow old bold!
Intelligent people bought these bonds, no bank or person will tell this.
This was way better than FD and could be started with 5-7k.

Nothing to worry. These things come n go whenever there is a change.
The reduction in custom duty will promote more gold imports as Govt. Is ready to forego 9 percent of its earnings in favour of citizen. Govt . Still has not discontinued Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme though the target issue of the fund might have been reduced. This proves that Gold continues to be safe investment even in the eyes of Govt for Indian citizens, as compared to investments in foreign securities. So Existing Gold owners are not put to loss by the reduction in customs duty. Rather they are encouraged to invest more at a lower cost. It is like offering HAL or BEL shares to retail investors at a discount.
Till date it is miked that Rajan was best governor of RBI . He has introduced it .That is why Govt has kicked from RBI.

Actual reason is to manipulate Gold price and reduce outflow to expiring bonds. 5 to 10 % reduction in gold rates, means huge savings in outflow. And SGB is any day beneficial to government than physical gold, as its a paper bond. They might reduce the 2.5% interest but SGB will continue.

Acha Sir you didn't include inflation in that period, you should calculate the actual loss of Govt after adjusting inflation.
If you lose in gain it's not called lost . So 10 lakh cr. Lost was the majority in gain value lost not capital.

Even the 5% loss is notional as no one is going to sell gold just because the price has dropped. Gold is one asset that people only buy and never sell. Going forward gold has tremendous potential as an asset. Hence price will go up in the future and thos who hold gold will anyway benefit. Hence this is unwanted sensationalism.
Customs duty coming down is good as gold becomes cheaper - which if good as our people simply love gold and consume huge quantities every year.

Its Gold bond not actual gold which can be stored for as long as needed and sold anytime
They have reduced custom duty just for redemption of bonds. Once Bonds are redeemed at reduced price they will again increase it. Wait for 3-6 months.
SGB holders are being fooled.
SGB they have paid that huge amonut but on PPF which has 15 year locking peroid they can't pay even 8%. For last two and half years its 7.1%. Whereas Employee PF is paying 8.5%.
PPF rate should be aligned with EPF rates.
Day by day this Government is turning into the most unreliable one. Be it GST, be it SGB, or be it NPS , probably in every sector.
I regret voting them, but what to do there was a lack of options. The competitor is still not ready to take the responsibilities.
Not only SGB, every rupee collected by the Government or companies can give attractive returns only if it is used for productive and profitable works. If you use an investor's money to pay your debt, interest on loans taken how can the industry or the scheme be profitable? And how will it give returns? The whole economy is made volatile by the Government in the last 10 years, resulting in huge corruption. So no much hope. Now be ready for FD interest rate cuts.

SGB issued against physical gold stored in government's gold lockers.
And if i buy SGB worth 1lk then government must buy or invest in gold instruments available in international markets. This way Gov reduced extra load of import charges n taxes.
For this saving,Gov decided to give interest of 2.5% .
Further, if gold rate was 30k/gm in 2015/16, so govt must hv invested in gold only, and withdrawal at current price if the SGB buyers want withdraw.

Gov will get into trouble if these bonds aren't backed by real gold stored in some gov vault, bought for purchase of each sale of bond. If gov is taking risk by not buying gold parallelly in order to make money from money of investors, then risk and reward are associated with risk-taking 🤷
How are they facing loss, we are paying money for gold, they should buy the lateral gold for it. No one is facing loss

Unless and until you sell your gold, there is no loss. Indian households did not sell their gold so there is no loss at all. Considering the reduced custom duty, the demand will pick up and prices will be back to their highs in 3-4 months.

Price Pluse minus is part of investment. Only price gets high and high is not possible.
Second now gold is cheap so many people get benefits.
So it’s not like 100% of Indian people buy gold and price drop 5%
So many more also buy on lower price and if anyone hold gold for some time price again go up.
So there is no any loss only benefit due to reduce custom duty

Sir jee....At 6:05 sec your calculations are wrong, because you said sarkar ko 9-11% and then you said after adding 2.5 % of interest it's 14-15%, but The 2.5 % is simple Interest which Cannot be added to Compound interest of 9-11%.

Sir आप सही तरीके से नही बता रहे हो जिनके पास gold है उनका क्या नुकस्सन हुआ मुझे ये बताओ किसी ने 6,7 साल पहले 35,या 40000 per 10 gm लिया था वो गोल्ड गोली की रफ्तार से भाग कर 80 पार गया था अब 4,5% की temporery गिरावट आई है जो 5,6 महीने भी नही छेलगी ओर gold 90,000 जाएगा।। इस 6% की गिरावट के कारण सुनारों के दुकानों लर जो भीड़ लगी है 4 दिन से वो भी एक अच्छी बात है।।। नुकसान उनको बोलते है जिसकी भरपाई हो नही सकती ये तो अभी फिर भाग जाएगा रहने दो घर पर ही है पड़ा हुआ😮
Sovereign Gold Bond का नाम सुना है बच्चे ? उसमें 5 साल का lock-in period होता है और 8 साल के बाद maturity हो जाती है यानी 8 साल के बाद जो भी रेट चल रहा होगा उसके हिसाब से पैसा तुम्हारे बैंक अकाउंट में वापस आ जाएगा, सरकार ने अपना दिमाग लगाकर सोने का रेट घटा दिया अब अगस्त में maturity का पैसा जो पहले ज्यादा देना पड़ता वो कम देना पड़ेगा क्योंकि सोने का भाव कम हो गया है।
