- James Patrick Bulger (16th March 1990 - 12th February 1993) was a two-year-old boy from Kirkby, Merseyside, England, who was abducted, tortured, and murdered by two 10-year-old boys, Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, on 12th February 1993 Thompson and Venables led Bulger away from the New Strand Shopping Centre in Bootle as his mother had taken her eyes off him momentarily. His mutilated body was found on a railway line 2+1⁄2 miles (4 kilometres) away in Walton, Liverpool, two days after his abduction.

I live over road to this cemetary visit his grave often n wish him happy bday n happy Christmas. He wasn't much younger than me when he passed.RIP little James 🙏❤

My relatives lived over the road & I believe I also have relatives buried there.
Although his mum & dad are no longer together, events not too long ago illustrated the torment & distress they still feel even after almost thirty years. My heart bleeds for them. Sadly there is no closure for them just horrific memories at the loss of their little angel.
I mark my calendar in order that I can say a prayer for him . God Rest his gentle soul…..💔💕❤️

Every parents nightmare. What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful boy. I had the misfortune of Venables moving into a house behind me, when he was released back into society. As a nurse I was unable to tell my neighbours, who had 2 small sons. Made me ill with worry

They are out. Venables got recalled to prison , but he's probably out again now.
They are out walking amongst us with no shame they should have got life without parole

Nobody will ever forget James or his amazing mum Denise ❤
You can even to this day, see the pain etched on his mother's face, I always think.

People still let their young children run around unsupervised in the strand shopping centre now
James wasn't left to run around. He wandered out of the butcher shop as his mum paid for her purchase. Had she gone after him in the other direction she would have reached him with the two boys but sadly she didn't.
To many parents think a supermarket or shopping centre are play grounds for their children or let them go look at the toy isle or the toilet on their own. James bless his heart was out of his mother's sight for seconds those seconds she has lived again millions of times. You are right people still do short memories they have.

When James name is mentioned I see the short black and white clip that was shown on the TV of James walking out of the centre. Reading James's fathers book from the first to the last page the tears keep on coming. How they managed to live after James is remarkable God Bless them. These monsters didn't just take James life they rip a family apart

This beautiful baby boy´s name still haunts me.. The 2 EVIL boys who did this, still make my blood boil.. This has to one of the saddest cases in British history & they walk free, amongst us! Free to breathe, free to live, free to have a family, be a family. Where is the justice in that? They may have been Children when they decided to take that action that awful day.. If there is one moment in time I wish I could go back to it would be to rescue this child from the cruel fate he suffered so pointlessly & needlessly. I cannot begin to imagine the agony his parents have suffered.

Much of what they did to poor James was kept out of public domain. Absolutely dreadful. In Norway a few years later a similar murder occurred of a little girl by two boys - the way it was dealt with was very different. I am so confused as to what is the most effective form of punishment, since there is no doubt that James and his parents could not have been punished more. Is revenge a healthy option? Yet I know if this had happened to my family I would be as embittered...which is why perhaps the law doesn't deal with emotions. RIP James, may your spirit live in your younger brother...x

Both boys did this aged ten and will be out when they are 25 years of age. How can any child be capable of committing such cruelty. What kind of childhood must they have had? Horrendous beyond comprehension. As a mother I cannot imagine what his mother lives through - daily.
They have been out for years. Only locked up for 8 years. One is back inside but both have new identities.
They both been released years ago.they are about 40 years old now.

Terribly sad. I looked up this cemetery because on Findagrave it said in an email I received today, that Kirkdale
Cemetery in Liverpool had more photos added than any other. So, I looked it up wondering who had been laid to rest there. I also see that some of the crew of the Titanic are buried here. You never know where your genealogy work will take you. RIP James.
