You guys love to quote whatever fits the narrative but never tell the whole story. He also said Jared was having success in the fight & that he was fighting a good fight up until that 3rd round.
Dana has always had the same opinion on 3rd round decisions, go for broke in the 3rd and look for a stoppage. He even didnt give a prospect a contract on the contender series because he coasted in the 3rd and won a decision. He hates that shit. Its consistent across all fighters, not just Paddy.
Lastly, Paddy was the one being controlled so even if he took the round off, Jared was in control of the engagement, he couldve made Paddy fight. Instead he allowed to hit just sit and defend meaningless takedown attempts. With that all said, I had Jared winning the fight.

The third judge, Douglas Crosby, somehow gave Sabatello every round! He watched the bout and had the losing fighter shutting out his opponent. The best part? Crosby was one of the judges for the Pimblett/Gordon robbery.

This is exactly what our section thought in the T-Mobile last night. Everyone here was cheering when Paddy came in, and we were all booing when Brunce announced that he won. It was shameful, going into he third we were like, he’s down 2 rounds and needs a knockout or sub. And Paddy got dominated 3rd round and I was saying I can’t believe he lost. This was a BS win, much respect for Gordon. He walking in thru all the boos and actually got a lot of respect after from the fans.

Paddy got round one because of pressure , his knockdown and he made jared go for a takedown. At O'Malley said in the post fight interview (paraphrasing) 'it was a close fight, honestly I'd have to watch the fight back again', which respect for him for saying that, compared to this Pimblett clown. And Sean did win on the feet, and arguably just edged out a victory (admittedly he also cheated...). Jared DEFINITELY won this fight because he beat him on the feet, in the clinch, and on the ground.

Dana needs to stop with his go to stance "Well don't leave it in the hands of the judges" for decisions like this. If the only way to win a fight is by a finish then call all fights that go the distance a draw. Otherwise he has to bear so responsibility for investigating judging errors, cause we've had lots lately.
He says “don’t leave it in the hands of the judges” when he is satisfied with the decision. He wanted Johnny Hendricks to beat GSP, and we know what he said about that result. When the “wrong” guy wins, he lets his displeasure be known.
I agree 100%. In some fights you have to finish your opponent and in some fights you have cruise to decision. This is beauty of game. Every fight is different. You can't finish every fight.
Every fighter has different strength. Some are good at wrestling so they mostly win by decision. Some are good at BJJ so they mostly win by submission. Some are power hitters so they mostly win by KOs. Its Dana's responsibility to ensure that if fight goes to judges, the decision should be made on merit not on popularity contest.
Dana believes that if you can't finish it in the octagon then you don't deserve the win, and at that point whoever is better for the UFC should get promoted.

I used to think they should take their time with Paddy cuz the top 10 is gonna wipe the floor with him, but now I just want him to face RDA or Ilia. Maybe Fiziev. @@AndreiLucaa You've gotta imagine that most judges are subtly influenced when punches from fan favorites receive extra loud "oohs and aahs" from the crowd. The judging's also happening in real time and there's no slow-mo post-fight analysis allowed. I think fighters need to take these things into account when crafting a fight strategy and realize that when fighting a star it's basically an "away" game, and you won't win if the fight's too close.

Its a shame really because of Paddy's attraction in the UFC Jared could have decapitated Paddy and Paddy would have still won, Dana should be careful because once people see the UFC is fixed they will leave in droves, each fighter must step into the octagon and have a fair unbiased decision and not based upon a fighters popularity.

No body makes a big deal about other fighters getting robbed when they were dominant the whole 3 to 5 rounds. It is what it is, Paddy is not a judge and he showed up just like Gordon. It was a phenomenal fight and props should be given to both fighters. Do a rematch for next year or let it go.

From the tv we arent as effected by the crowd... jared blocked a ton of paddys strikes, but from certain angles it still looked like contact, be it on the arm not the face, this combined with a SUPER pro paddy crowd is bound to make paddys shots seem most siginficant live than in person... everytime his punch landed on jared arms the crowd made the same Ooooooos as if.it landed... this has an effect and shouldnt be forgoton
