Good morning Simon. Lovely beer.
Nice review and a good choice for a beer after a hard day's work. I have to be a German know-it-all though. You said Dunkel is a Weißbier with some dark malts thrown into it but that is not quite accurate. Dunkel is short for "Münchner Dunkel" (Munich Dark Lager), which is brewed with large portions of Munich Malt and Lager yeasts. What you mean is "Dunkelweizen" which is really a Weißbier with dark malts. Probably the fact that this is unfiltered gives it some resemblance to a Dunkelweizen but it's definitely a Lager. Other than that good review. Makes me miss my local brewpub's Dunkel out in the sunshine on a summer's evening.

@@sebass8464 Sorry, I was not precise. I meant the style of Dunkel is perfect after a hard day's work. I've had some stellar examples of the style from the Munich region and as I mentioned, my local brewpub makes a good example. There's something pleasing in their maltyness but they never go overboard like a Dubbel or a Doppelbock which makes them digestable. Simon being so happy about this beer made me think about a very fond memory including a shitty day of business travel to Munich, a trip with an old friend in a Mazda MX5 convertible to a small pub in the countryside and two Augustiner Dunkel with a large portion of Currywurst which was perfect in this situation. I probably got carried away a little... ;)
About Krombacher and Beck's I agree with you. I am not a huge fan of either. Most large-scale industrial German Pilsners or Lagers are quite boring to me. But taste is subjective and Simon certainly seems to like them. I probably would not have picked up Krombacher Dunkel Naturtrüb in the store if I saw it because in my opinion most of the large breweries in Germany produce an unfiltered version of their usual stuff with old-timey labels and think they are craft and I would have thought that's what's happening here. But Simon's review was so thorough and sounded seriously good. I am tempted to try it.
@@sebass8464 Oh and did you check Beck's craft beer range? To me (again, subjective taste) the Amber Ale and the Red Ale were surprisingly decent.
Awesome review Simon, I also recently sent you this beer along with the Bellheim DoppelBock and left no note in the parcel when I sent it..and I certainly loved a few of these after work they certainly went down a absolute treat absolutely love a dunkel 👍hope to see you review the DoppelBock very soon stay safe!!!

Hi Simon. You said at the start you really like their pils, but you only gave it 6 out of ten. You gave Carlsberg pils the same score! You might of guessed I'm a bit of a Krombacher pils fan. I just think u need to give it a better score. Btw love your channel.
Tried the Paulaner dunkel at the weekend there. Wish they did kegs of the stuff
Had many occasions to try this, their Landbier and their Keller bier but never bothered. Damn it.
Trouble is I can't haven't one beer,so its a once a week thing now a days 😂😂
