  • The Second World War is a period filled with intriguing stories of espionage, treasure hunting, and rescue operations. Covert operations during World War two were a common occurrence but not every story of heroic extraction is available for the public to read. Some of these heroic tales are still shrouded in secrecy and one such untold story is of a secret mission to seize Nazi map data.
Today at Nutty History, let’s find out who and what was HOUGHTEAM and how they helped Allies to win the big war.

The 2014 movie Monuments Men has a similar plot of a US team tracking down Nazi looted art treasures to keep them from falling into Soviet hands.

Coordinates, numbers for locations are what artillery, and bombers used to killing targets.
80% of soldiers who died, were killed, are killed by bombing and artillery.
Canons and mortars, air plane bombers.

As a private in the Civil Defence we used old maps cut up as cheap paper for drafts etc. Seeing that they contained extreme detail of Soviet territory, it was pretty obvious, exactly what had happened.

The Nazis ammunition at the end of the battle was defective. Every other 3rd round would miss fire. This was one reason the America succeed but there was multiple downfalls of the German troops. Although the Germans were tuff as hell, their vanity and delusions ultimately made them venerable for defeat. The only reason Hitler succeeded on the home front is because he robbed every Jewish person he could find. American troops scared the hell out of the German coward. We use to fight for the good of all mankind. What happened 2 U.S.?

The picture on 8:38 does not belong to General Wilhelm Vollmar. It belongs to field marshal Wilhelm Bodewin Johann Gustav Keitel, Chief of the Wehrmacht High Command. He was the one who signed the surrender terms for the German Army in Berlin, 8 May 1945. He was tried in Nuremberg and was hanged in October 16, 1946.
Keitel was one of the most famous German war criminals and head of the army.
I am surprised that you made such a big mistake.
Wilhelmina Vollmar was a German general in world war 1 and did not participate in world war 2. You can search his name and see his service records online. He was born in 1881 and passed away in 1964.
I was really excited to find your channel, however I am now very disappointed.
