Kenwood TH-D74/75A vs Quangsheng UV-K5 SSB RX Comparison. IJV Firmware mod Version 3.

A quick video stacking a legend in the game vs a new and rising up and Comer. In one corner we have the Kenwood TH-D74a who needs no introduction and is world renowned.
In the other corner we have the new kid on the block the Quangsheng UV-K5 with the latest firmware upgrade coming from the IJV mod version 3 giving the Quangsheng UV-K5 SSB and meat on the bones.
So let stack these up RX HF signals and we will let you decide, comment below and get into the discussion.

Sir what antenna were you using on the quansheng?

An old CB /11m portable antenna I picked up at a hamfest. BNC so I used an adaptor

That is like comparing a Rolls Royce and a Kia. They will both get you there but one does it with more style.

I'll take the Kia-sheng. At less than 1/10th the cost it gets me where I need to be.

Most of the time Kia’s are all we need . Rolls Royce while super nice are not really practical for the daily use in my opinion.
