- In this video, I share 3 more reasons why a PS4 might be overheating ranging from the games being played, to analyzing the inside architectural build of the console itself. If you haven't yet watched my original video yet on this topic, I highly recommend you watch it along with this Part 2 video. After receiving a ton of helpful feedback and opinions in the comments of that last video, I did a further dive in researching all the ways the PS4 could be overheating and made this video sharing another 3 crucial reasons.

1. Playing a game with corrupted data (delete and redownload the game)
2. Dirt and dust (clean out ps4)
3. The thermal paste might be failing
(repair thermal paste)
I can't even play a game long enough without it showing that red light of death. Just installed a new game recently.
Room temperature can play a big role

As someone who has Jailbroken a number of PS3s to me breaking open my PS4 was no issue and those who say the thermal paste is shit arent wrong my TP was literally crackling off the chip so getting new stuff on has helped it quite a lot!
On another note a thing most ppl can do running a low risk... well aside from breaking the warranty sticker but really who has that anymore. You can access your Fan from the bottom (or at least for mine idk bout the slims or whatever I have a BO3 release ps4) but my fan is on the bottom and I had to void warranty but that is what it is and every month I'll get 3 quetips and clean out the fan of dust which is usually Black to grey and ill use a duster can and spray the rest out thats possible and spray it from the back where the battery exit is and then once more from the fan BE SURE TO HOLD DOWN THE FAN OR ELSE YOULL RISK BREAKING IT!!!.
Lastly every once in a blue moon ill throw my console into safe mode and defragment it (edit: rebuild database is the option you'd choose to 'defragment' your ps4). Its nothing big and grand but doing a defragmentation to me at least gives it a noticeable speed boost and doesn't make my console run as hot so hopefully this helps some ppl the last step for defragmenting anyone can do its safe the fan one is up to you and the TP reapplication as well is up to you but as John said its safer to go to a repair shop that knows what they are doing if you don't. At times you just have to turn off your system completely for a lil while. Cause at times when you leave it on rest mode it causes it to get over-heated at times..

Its probably because fortnite is a big game which has alot going on at once so the console is working heaps harder to run it. Eventually you probably will start getting overheat messages and turning off problems if you dont keep it clean and stuff.

Btw 3: I am in another country and in this country is hard to find repair shops
Just wanted to chime in and say that changing your thermal pads for new ones make a big difference, as well as changing the thermal paste to a good one instead of the common brand like Arctic MX4. If you ever attempt again to fix, get 1MM thermal pads and high viscosity thermal paste like Thermalright TFX. Made a big difference on my original PS4.

Just brought a ps4 pro. Like a idiot I put it on shelf area causing it get hot and fan was running wide open. It's used but was cleaned inside and out. I moved it from bottom shelf to top in open area it runs way cooler and the fan doesn't run wide open any more no matter what game you play. My question is this because it got hot couple times should I be worried about internal damage. Never got the red light or console shutdown on it's own but I did msg about it getting hot so I quickly turned it off then moved it to open area. Just worried I might have caused damage and don't know it. It's the last generation and mode before Sony discounted ps4 pro so it's only about three and half year's old.
No you shouldn’t be worried about internal damage that much, my ps4 has overheated over 20+ times when I first bought it and it was a ps4 pro as well, and there was no internal damage, but if the ps4 is unusually overheating even when it’s in a cool area then it might be internal problems or you need to re install the game you want to olay
@@sammy1895 once I moved it into a open area the fan doesn't get loud any more and it bearly get hot any more. Been like that for almost a week now. So pretty much good now.

Daus Try deleting and reinstalling the game fresh on your hard drive and see if that helps

When I play days gone it sounds like a jet engine & when I played gta online with my friends it overheated.

Here’s my problem my ps4 used to overheat we cleaned it and it’s very quiet now the thing is my ps4 is still getting hot when I play like 30 minutes is that a normal thing and will I brake my ps4 if I keep play on it while it’s hot ?
Troo Is it while playing a certain game. As long as the system doesn't run too hot (just warm) you should be fine. When I play Modern Warfare my PS4 gets noticeably louder and hotter but is not to the point that it is overheating.

Recently my ps4 Input and audio just cuts out for a few seconds every other 10 seconds and it’s not my controller or mic because it happens on 3 different controllers. Does anyone have a fix for this. Sometimes when I put an ice pack on my ps4 it works fine for a bit but then goes back to doing it

You can upload your game save data to the cloud through PSN so that you don't lose your data when you delete the game itself. I published a CZcams video here showing how to access this feature within your PlayStation czcams.com/video/8-vN7L98Qps/video.html
apex legends "stuff" is saved on the server so as long as u have the same account it won't matter you'll still have your stuff even after you uninstall it.

Deleting a game and downloading it back only works 1 time after I close application and open it back up it’ll turn off

Why do PlayStation overheats a lot because you're downloading too much video games that's reason why PlayStation burns up data nothing. Good for your PlayStation. How to keep it safe is do not download. Too much games
