Wild swimming my arse. When I was growing up in the 60s and 70s it was called going for a dip in the canal, lake or river. The only wild thing about it was, we had a bloody good time of it 😊. My elder brother who's 70 going on 12 took it up again last year, and went 'wild swimming' up near Frodsham way. Went wild swimming came back with the wild shites 😅.

This is great. I enjoy swimming in my local rivers. I wish more people in the United States would get into wild swimming again.

When I was a kid, everybody would go swimming in the local river. Didn't do us any harm. Damn sight more fun than a pool.

Only the UK could make swimming illegal. I really must get back to NZ

the people who own this country would tax the sodding air if they could. The idea that i have to get permission from another human being to use a lake in the country i was was born in really irks me!

It's not illegal in most rivers and lakes, some councils and authorities try to stop it but the right to roam gives a lot of rights and access, If you go to the Lake District you can legally swim in most rivers and lakes and if you go into one of the reservoirs you might get someone shouting at you, big deal!
