Her not allowing him to paternity test is ridiculous! I feel sorry for his mother & what she is going through.
I bet you she has doubt that he may not be the Father. She scared that's why she declined the DNA.

She probably had another mam convinced it was his and was supporting that child financially. She probably felt that Mam she convinced was a better financial fit. Usually, that is the case. I say that bc we all have seen that too many times. Why else would women deny a man. Usually, it's bc of money or bc of another man or bc she deems him unsafe. Regardless of the reason, it's sad for the children involved.

It was 87.5 because they couldn’t test her son, obviously. They tested from the genetic makeup of the grandmother which is only a certain percentage of her sons makeup.
I watch alot of paternity court and the percentage are always about 98% I don't think that's her grandkid im thinking that's her nephews daughter

It only comes out to be 98% 99% when the actual dad is tested, but in this case obviously the grandma had to be tested so that's why the probability came out to be 87% which is still pretty high. This means there's only a 13% chance that she's not the grandma, and a 13% chance of the son not being the dad. So umm yeah that's definitely her grandbaby
This is untrue. Grandparentage DNA results can also show 99.9% grandparents with both grandparents.

I see this too often on Paternity Court. I couldn't imagine being pregnant with someone's child and boom they're dead. Then to not want to prove who your child's father is when you slept with multiple men. To put your child and her potential father, family through mess.
Don't you thing Ms. Perry was still involved with the "other man" and thus didn't want to have a DNA test so it caused her trouble with that man? She didn't need this child's father in her life then. I'd think now the "other man" left her and so she wants the child to know her GM.

To be fair, the man could have petitioned the court for the DNA test as well. I understand that so many men run away and this young man wanted to step up and he could have. The thing is our men do not always know their rights and in this case he had a right to take her to court to find out if he was the father.
I'm glad the judge told the mother how wrong she was. Too many of our children don't know their father and this mother was wrong on all levels especially since the potential father wanted to know so he can have a relationship with his daughter. Just like the judge said, look at all the things the daughter missed all because of her mother.

Yeah the mother was crazy for doing what she did by neglecting the child the opportunity to know her father...like you said you knew the child was his but he didn't so why the hell wouldn't you do it for his sake. And I see a lot of comments about the 87%. Apparently common sense isnt all that common because how in the world can it be 99.9% when they tested grandmother. It can only be that percentage if they did the father which they cant do because he is deceased, so his mother is the closet thing they can do. And the percentage will naturally be lower since the son only has half of his mothers DNA.

I think the "other man' knew the child wasn't his as she said they weren't having sex then at all, but she just didn't need this child's father in the picture back then. I thought the "other guy" might be an older man. Now she may be looking to get Social Security benefits, which the little girl deserves.

Although I do not agree with the young ladies choice of denying the father paternity testing , I felt for her by her reaction or lack there of . It appears to me that the young woman was hurt by the assumption that someone else might be the father. If you've only slept with one man, then you know who the father is. For some women, if that is questioned then bye. She never asked for money or nothing. But at least now they know.
Judge Mathis REALLY went in on this potential baby mother! I think she may have refused the paternity test possibly due to the 1 night stand issue or she may have wanted her boyfriend to automatically assume he was the father. The deceased was popular, already had 2 sons & the fact that 4 other women(possibly more) came fwd claiming that he was their👶🏽's father(which he wasn't)meant he was indeed "VERY popular.😏 She may have simply been embarrassed. I understand the judge's analogy but who could've known that he'd be killed at 24? He was so young, may he RIP & may God give his mom strength, endurance & peace.

And now the Grandmother has another piece of her Son. This is being stated by a woman who has 17 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
