I wouldn’t have pressed child support on him if it was me, I think spending time with a child is more important than money, but like I said she’s not me, she did press child support, and that was his choice to lay with someone like that, right?

It's heartbreaking the young girl had to sit through all this. Hearing your mom confessing to cheating on your father whilst 7 months pregnant and then hearing your father quit his job to avoid supporting you is just devastating. Hope she heals from this and only uses her pain to better herself!

I agree it is heartbreaking. However, the state receives the funds collected from the father first and takes majority of the child support whenever the mother is on government aid, as she stated. Employment of father becomes negligible in many scenarios where a man is paid poorly but has multiple child support judgements in effect which are all divided amongst each woman depending on the number of dependents, subsequently reducing the amount each woman receives. By the time the state deducts funds to recoup for whatever gov programs the woman most likely is on. its really negligible. Shit is designed for underprivileged blacks with poor decision making skills to fail if they don't get abortions for unplanned pregnancies. At this point 1 of the best hopes for black family restoration in the US is obviously polygamy.

They quit their jobs because they feel they will "fall off the radar". Unfortunately some feel that the custodial parent, grandparents, etc. will handle taking care of the kids. I know, because it happened to me.
On the flip side, should we lock her up too because she couldn’t take of the kid either. She had to go to the state for help..

But here you have a man who is perfectly capable of working for a paycheck and his only explanation for quitting the job is because he didn't want to pay child support. The man has always been responsible for providing for his family and the woman takes care of the home. I do, to a certain extent, feel that taking the 'provider' to jail is removing him even further from the picture. But the law is the law. I truly wish him well and hope that if he's able to work, he will keep the job next time.

Some of those who choose to be a single mother can not afford to take care of the baby without government assistance; ebt card, housing, child care assistance, etc. They don't risk going to jail because they had a baby they can't afford. They receive help. There are no programs that help men who were force to be fathers.

I know someone who did the same thing. Quit so they wouldn't have to pay child support. Left a good job to work about 15 hours at a dept. Store. The mom already had her nice luxury apartment with a brand new luxury car. Once that child support dropped drastically, she lost everything. She went from getting over 2000 every 2 weeks to about 100 a month. So sad. ☹ people, child support is for the children. Not for our own luxury.
