Le col de la Bonette est un col de montagne à 2 715 mètres d'altitude1,2, où la route de la Bonette passe pour relier la vallée de l'Ubaye à celle de la Tinée.
This mountain pass reaches 2802 metres of altitude at its highest point, just below the summit of the Cime de la Bonette which is 2860 metres high. As a result, due to very cold temperatures, high snowfall, and overall pretty rough weather, it is actually closed to traffic for most of the year, as it would be too dangerous - if not buried under metres of snow anyway XD. It is entirely forbidden to access from October to May, meaning you can only climb it in late spring and summer before it closes again...
