PLEASE KEEP RELEASING FULL PLAYOFF GAMES FROM THE 90'S THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL VINTAGE!
And the 80's, largely betters.
Big facts. The younger generation will never have what we had in the 90's. Didn't even matter who you rooted for
Sooo glad that already im have the full series in HD 60fps!!!!
90s basketball!! That’s real basketball.
That is 100% true.👍❤️
Was at its peak that’s for sure. This series doesn’t get the credit it deserves, two of the greatest centers of all time going at it. When looking back EVERYTHING doesn’t have to be about MJ.
@@myronwilborn6561 Exactly! The media acts like 94 and 95 never happened!
Yes. But thé 80's were way better.
yea, physical and tough. They took that out of the game.
Gosh they use to tell a story so well on the nba on nbc Even the regular season intros were 🔥
That’s why half the reason the NBA was so amazing. It actually had a storyline with great intro like nba on nbc that made it breathtaking.
By far the best theme song in any sports
I love being able to watch these old gms! 🏀
Ed, did you really sit around and watch a 2 hour basketball game from 1994?
@@JT-xp3in no, to be honest I feel asleep at night watching it. Every night until I finish it so I would start the next night where I remember leaving off.
@@ed-roc2054 and you think this was time well spent? Lol
@@JT-xp3in fallen asleep at night which we all do every night. Is just that sleeping. I wouldn't call it time spent. Just something to help me fall asleep. A gm in which I saw as a kid on TV
@@JT-xp3in Lmao I've been enjoying the 1998 Finals and was going through the channel and saw 1994 and really like the pace while defense is still being played (too bad the Knicks lost the series...)
Basketball has been trash since after the 2016 season outside of like maybe the 2019 Finals, and these 90s games are what I've been looking for (there are still some gems from the 2000s, plus Knicks Bulls Easter 2012 is still a classic that the modern game should try to reflect but likely never will)
90s were different ❤
the vibe in the arena, the real tactical game, the intensity....
Every bucket was like a touchdown or a goal
Very well said.
Hakeem was so skilled, maybe the best footwork in NBA history.

Theres something about 90s basketball that sets it apart from all other eras. So many superstars, hard in the paint action, every match like telling a story. They were great times.
I thinks it's your nostalgia, this era was terrible
lifetime houston rockets fan and native houstonian, the city has changed so much since then, but will always treasure this series as an awesome moment in time as the first championship for the Rockets
Mannnn I used to get goosebumps when they did the intro on NBA teams when they were playing each other. And the theme music used to be my favorite
Isn’t this the same music the Bulls used?
Got chills watching the Rockets intro!!! The Summit baby!!! Clutch City!
One of the most underrated NBA players in my opinion is Big Shot Bob a.k.a. Robert Horry
He definitely was the definition of clutch and has 7 rings, right? (or was it 6? ❓)
@@peterspa2252 I think he has 7. Two with Houston, two with San Antonio and three with the Lakers.
@@pepstalynn Nice! And he had his nickname for a good reason, that's for sure 👍☺️
This was my favorite series post Jordan
I was so happy the Knicks made it... I was so crushed they lost the finals. I felt so horrible for Ewing. That man is a legend and no ring hurts him a tad but i watched every game 93-2000 and recorded them on VHS . . . I go way back.
I love that 3 Carolina players met up in the Finals. I bet Coach Smith felt really proud of his guys.
Kenny Smith and Hubert Davis are the only UNC players in this series.
@@bolebole161 Pete Chilcutt!!!!!
@@MrBmick79 Chilcutt wasn't on the 93-94 roster. He was on the 1995 team.
Thanks God for this games that I can watched in the 90’s . THE BEST NBA 🙏🏻🏀🎊🎉
Let's not overlook Houston aka "Clutch City" from '93-'95!🇺🇸🏀
All I remember about this finals was OJ and the white bronco
"And I wanna go back and do it all over, but I can't go back. I know."
This is wonderful !
This Rockets team was perfectly defensibly assembled, and had the perfect offensive philosophy. Ironically, nobody ever mentions how this was what got them over the team Jordan liked to own as his foe.
Love that theme music... Iconic.
Man! Nba on nbc is apart of my being . I remember hearing it play through the window growing up and I would know it was time to go inside to watch whatever the double or super rare triple header was on.
90s basketball is so fast paced, I like it
It was more physical back then today's basketball it's soft.
Not true, mid to late 90s was literally the slowest ever. Knicks specifically this season were one of the slowest teams in the league. The Finals were even slower the average pace this season but I will say to your point Game 1 was the fastest game by pace in the whole series at around 93 possessions and the rest of the series was well under 90 so relatively this was a 'faster' game by 90s standards. Today's league (last 5 seasons) has about 98-100 possessions per 48 minutes. Funny enough the 80s were faster and the 70s even faster
@Josh Medeiros not soft though
You should see some late 90s Heat and Cavs games. They were sooooo slow and every possession was a struggle.
@cupertinoish good defense slows down offenseses
This one still hurts and will forever be the one that got away … - a diehard 90s Knicks fan 😢
He should have gotten a head coaching position years ago
Let the memory of the slow bronco chase and the rectangle view of the game in the corner of the tv ease your pain.

On paper, this may have been the most evenly matched NBA Finals ever. It all boiled down to Olajuwon getting the better of Ewing that year, even though they both had dominant years historically. It was just that in 94 Olajuwon had Ewing's number.
@Nicholas Zeman
Olajuwon, had Ewings "Number for years already (regardless of which team won the game)!
Ewing and some of his teammates, even admit that.

I think rockets were a slightly better scoring team than the knicks but both were equal defensively
Thank you very much for this. It brings back so many memories for those who experienced it. It was Houston’s first major championship… The summer I graduated high school …a very special time
The Knicks were exhausted after playing two seven game series
Houston Rockets had a 7-8 days off,who had not played a week ago since May 31st memorial day, when they eliminate Utah Jazz in the conference finals series
I miss these days
Kenny did a good job getting Hakeem some water in this game
From the production to the actual game, the NBA was unquestionably much much better then than now.
Back when defense existed in the nba. And not watching a 3pt shootout the whole damn game lol😂
My brother thank you for these! Game 5 of this series looks like it's hidden on your channel, I would be eternally grateful if you made that game visible! Lifelong Knicks fan, that's our last win in a finals game and it's the OJ Simpson car chase game! Cheers brother.
Arguably the best series of the 90s. The storylines were a plenty

I agree 90s basketball was real basketball
What a great upload
I used to be a huge Knicks fan. In all honesty, this series set the NBA way back. Both teams shot 40% or below for the series!
I still believe that if the Knicks kept Xavier McDaniel, the Knicks would have won the 1994 NBA Finals!!! (and I am a Chicago Bulls fan)
Look how Alpha Patrick Ewing was at 39:40. Damn, intensity
Real Basketball
It’s so unheard of for Hakeem to go off towards the referee, in particular Dick Bavetta. He definitely deserved to get T’d up.
Please re-upload game 4,5,6 and 7, as they were all copyright blocked.
Thanks!
there is also the 1994 rockets documentary with the legendary hakeem olajuwon on you tube
Hakeem the dream was a monster.
Pat Riley was outcoached in that series, he didn't use his bench, he didn't use Blackman or Bonner enough. Yes, Hakeem scored more but Patrick had more rebounds and blocks. The Knicks didn't lose that series because of Patrick, they lost because of Riley.
The ONLY reason NY lost this series was the wide disparity between Hakeem and Ewing in scoring and efficiency
“use 8, rotate 7, play 6, trust 5”
With the way the Knicks played, it was surprising this went 7 games.
This was their best chance to get that ring. They had all the equations filled out to get it, they just ran into a dude named Hakeem.
1994 Knicks were all physicality and heart
@@AbdiqalisMohamud010 Okay but nothing to show for hanging in the rafters of Madison Garden

At the intro, I was surprised to hear Bob Costas say that Houston was heavily favored against New York. I don't remember this matchup like this, but as an almost completely balanced finals series - even before it started. The Knicks had 57-25 and the Rockets just 58-24, and the previous two years, New York had given the most trouble the Bulls ever had in the first 3-peat, while Houston was just a 2nd round team that never had a 60 wins season or reached the conference finals since 1986. Also, the Knicks had a difficult playoff run, as he said, but the Rockets had a hard run too. They won Utah in 5, but in the 2nd round, they beat Phoenix only in 7, after being 0-2. So, Bob Costas, you seem somewhat biased there in 1994 .:)
It was probably the fact Hakeem was just in a different level this year Ana talent wise Knowles only really had Ewing and nobody else!
The Rockets had beaten the Bulls during their 3-peat years 5 out of 6 times, and they also had better shooters and Hakeem was as dominant as ever. And also, let's not forget that these 94 Knicks benefitted from Hugh Hollins calling a foul on Scottie Pippen well after the ball had left Hubert Davis' hands in Game 5 of their second round series, as it looked like history would repeat itself. And then the Knicks had to rally from 3-2 down against the Pacers in the conference finals.
@@pomerlain8924 The Rockets beat the Bulls in regular season games, and then in 1991 they got swept by the Lakers in the 1st round, in 1992 they didn't even make the playoffs, and they were contenders only in 1993 but still lost in the 2nd round to the Sonics. In 1994 they had their best season, yet only no.2 seed in the West, and 3rd in the league. The Knicks had two hard series, and benefited of a call, but also the Rockets had a hard series with Phoenix, and benefited of the Sonics' stupidity, who were the best in the league with 63-19 and failed to close the Denver series. Anyway, I didn't say Bob Costas overrated Houston, which was indeed a great team, but that he underrated New York, as the series itself would prove.
@@yuriykhasidov1626 The Rockets were great, Hakeem was amazing and I still have his jersey from those years, but the Knicks were a great team too. Not just Ewing, also John Starks, Oakley, Harper, Mason. Best defence in the league and tough to beat.
The Rockets had the rest advantage with a week off and also swept the regular season series.
That last Hakeem 3 was the coach killing em go rocket's
In the intro he said the bulls dynasty was history little did he know. Jordan came out of retirement and they got a man who likes to wear dresses as a defender.

And....before the end of the story of the man who came back and the man who likes to wear dress, they detoured into another three-peat. 😂
@@joseaaronleojeruta2122 Pfft what any of that regarding Jordan gotta do with Hakeem/Houston? They were up 102-94 with less than 3 minutes left at home and couldn't close the deal. Houston the same time was down 3-1 to Phoenix on the road and rallied back.
They still lost to the team Houston swept in the Finals and it officially counted in the record books.
They got Rodman for relative "pennies" (Will Perdue) because Hakeem/Horry abused him so badly he didn't even wanna come back on the floor as they were running up the score lol.

This is finals man. LeBron , KD , Steph , embidd , jokic will never survive in this era 🤣
The funny thing is nobody mentioned the rockets in the 90's when talking about legacies. They were just sideshow.
That's because they were in the conference where it was more difficult to get to the finals consistently. Plus they were a lower seed in the postseason more often which made the odds of them winning the West even tougher, this was the last time they even won their division with Rudy Tomjanovich they never won it with Drexler and Barkley when he joined later on.
It's amazing with all the context.
Hakeem Olajuwon vs Patrick Ewing
The 90's Knocks was a shame. They had a terrific team. They played the regular season at high level. But in playoffs they werent like an abandoned dog. And its a unfairly moment of the history of basket.

In 93-94.I’m sorry we win the chip with that frontline intact. Trading Mark Jackson was a big mistake also.
@@stevenwheeler7999 Against a player like Pippen who handled the ball often in the offense you would have a good point it might've made a difference but with the Rockets that's more debatable the matchups wouldn't be the same. Mason by this point was Riley's go to guy at SF in the 4th and he had to be on the floor the majority of the quarter so Ewing wouldn't have to be the primary low post defender the entire time and keep him out of foul trouble. Like I said before Ewing not scoring a single point in the most important quarter of G6 with a 3-2 lead is what cost the Knicks more than anything else.
Also Derek Harper had a great series on both ends against the Rockets he was the most consistent player on the Knicks throughout.

Starks almost single handedly won G6 for the Knicks, Ewing going scoreless in the 4th quarter of that game actually played a bigger factor in them not winning the championship than Starks 2-18 shooting in G7 did.
