Thanks man, that was a genuinely good review. I'm deciding on the S/T/M16 and this has been super useful. Hoping I can play some old school MAME games on whichever Haute42 (pronounced HOT42 btw.) as well, as this will be my first leverless controller.

I actually just grabbed the Haute42 board mini. It's the all WASD with keyboard keycaps on every button. Been using it with tekken and personally I'm loving it. It's super tiny, fits in my steam deck bag so I've been doing lab work on my lunch breaks. It's so much bang for the buck at 35 dollars off of amazon. No way I could have built one myself for that price.

I wish they offered a smoke black version of the same keys

great review! I just bought the Haute42 S16 and I love it! I also have the fightbox B1 but this S16 feels so much nicer
Is the S dramatically smaller than the B1?

@@drjones694 it's about the same size as that smaller leverless stick you showed in your video, I feel like the only real drawback is lap playability, but since i just play at my desk on pc it's basically a non issue! Also the S16 uses the slim mech keyswitches vs standard mx style ones so the button travel is really shallow compared to something like the b1 (which i prefer, kinda reminds me of a slightly stiffer sanwa obsf30)

@@drjones694Hello my T16 arrived last weekend! I think this is such an awesome controller. For Tekken 8, I notice I sidestep a lot more and this is so fun to learn. My question is about the keycaps. I had rare occasions the caps pop off and I have to place it back on the switch. Its only the triangle and L1 buttons. Do you have any advice? That said I now want to get T13 later just so I have back up keycaps. Thank you for your content on leverless!

I haven't had any fall off of mine and my kids use mine sometimes too
It was probably just a bad combo for that button also check the discord support the team is there and may be able to gets thing updated there also link in the description

If you don't want to learn how to use Gimp, you could also just jet a piece of art printed on glossy paper and just use the pre-installed artwork as a phyical template for drawing the lines for where to cut.

I just bought the T16 after watching your video for Tekken 8. I couldn't chose between a stick and a leverless, but I just pulled the trigger ! :)
Can't wait to receive it. I just don't know how I'll play with it since I've never played with anything elkse other than pad, except for a few times at the arcade when i was younger
Your gonna love it
And hate it the 1st week at the same time lol
But once you get used to it it's really nice and precise
I recommend playing a 2d fighting game if you have an older game or a free older fighting game also it will get you used to moving and blocking back and down back before adding the side steps
But once you get used to it your gonna love it
I plan on making another quick video showing the mods I made and the commands to change settings

Got today my haute42 t16 and first thought was tbh buying this as a mistake. But I connected it and started to play UNI2 and was after a few asjustments in my muscle memory it was very unique experience. My backhands hurt but I feel good about doing stuff. It takes time to learn this thing, but if you do fights against low level CPU and try beginner combo trials, you should get used to the feeling.

The 1st week or 2 honestly like controller to joystick
Will suck.... LoL
But when you get passed it your going to notice more precise movements and it's going to get fun
Then when you learn the command shortcuts and get used to your L3 R3 you'll be off to the races LoL
Hopefully catch you on some fun Tekken 8 games on the Sunday live streams

As a mishima player, I can confirm that T16 is better than T13 for advanced movement/execution, those extra buttons on the right side can be set as an extra left and right and it allows for some crazy techniques

I think you will be happy having the 2 up buttons on the T13
I love the T16 but the 3 extra buttons are not required and sometimes get in the way but I'm still getting used to it and plan to use them as action buttons soon

I got the T13 and I love it, and after I updated it to the last firmware 7.7, it doesn’t work on my xb/s immediately, i have to plug it and unplug it a couple of times, im using the mayflash magic x as well
Not sure if your doing this but
On the web config web site
check your boot console buttons
forgot what they actually call the page
But make sure you set for example
I set RB button to be Xbox One not Xbox 360
And left the other buttons to default
Then plug in the Mayflash to the side of the controller
And hold the RB button
Then plug the controller into your Xbox series
And it works for me
That's the steps I took
And I see Xbox one on the screen when it boots

@@drjones694 Yeah I have the same setting, RB is for xbox one but I don't know why it doesn't seem to work all the time , I have to pulg and unplug it several times and sometimes I even have to restart the xbox

How did you get your artwork under the plastic so clean

basically i printed out on A3 paper
NOT 8 1/2 x 11 paper
Didnt use any special paper
it prints glossy
then i wiped down the plastic and put it under the plastic and the plastic shine makes it pop like that

Pro tip: Remove the buttons and only cut smaller squares for the switches. No need to cut big circles, which is much harder to do. The button will cover up the square hole and it'll look cleaner.
The controller is literally designed to easily be customized with artwork.

The key switch sits higher than the paper you don't need to cut so wide
On the fight box it was different it sat higher and I had to cut a lot
So when I did this controller I just did the same but I like your point how they did the board on this controller
