  • On this video, I show you all how to properly season the stainless steel griddle attachment from Yoder Smokers. Very simple process that only takes about 30 minutes to complete but very important to keep food from sticking to the griddle.
    Thanks for watching!

    I'm new to stainless steel griddles. Your season was so simple and clean. I was advised to have the season become golden brown over high heat. My food will stick if it's not fully seasoned and golden brown. Thoughts?

    • @SmokinJoesPitBBQ
      @SmokinJoesPitBBQ  Před 2 lety +1

      I don't think there's any truth to that. I've worked at restaurants with stainless steel griddles and after cleaning them, they all go back to the same stainless color. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

    This doesn’t seem right. Everything I’ve seen is to burn in the oil to create a brownish black patina. Is this not required on stainless? Thanks!

    • @SmokinJoesPitBBQ
      @SmokinJoesPitBBQ  Před 3 lety

      Correct, notnon stainless steel. Carbon steel is the one that needs cured that way. 👍

    So after you cook with it, do you care for it like you care for cast iron? Like don't ever wash it with soap? Are you suppose to do this with stainless steel pans as well?

      Hello Sarah, I just clean up the ashes and wash the outside of the grill. As far as the stainless steel grill. Throwing ice on it while it's hot really cleans it up good. 👍
