    The fact that it is not poe1. Is really exciting.
    It was never going to be a good merge anyway. So they grew some balls and did what was nessecary ❤🎉 - a standard player

    The possibility of a proper scaling UI and/or being able to easily choose the fonts used, so I can play for more than an hour without eyestrain. :)

    Great listen, my biggest hope is that the gameplay pace goes back to something closer to the early days.
    Also Mors was right fuck lab 😅

    I just want some gateway nodes on the passive skill tree. I'm excited for poe2. But still pretty focused on Poe as it still has much plenty of potential to evolve.
    However, I think spirit is going to be great for aura and minion builds. No longer hard locked into a quantity of minions especially.

      I can't wait to actually use mana as mana! I'm so tired of investing in mana reservation efficiency and reduced mana cost of skills on literally every build. Spirit is going to be a breath of fresh air.

    I'm interested to see how POE2 will affect Standard players on both PC and Console iterations of the game. For me, I'm a console player and one of the big reasons I play and maintain characters in Standard is because I work full time and am attending college part time. Because of this, I can't afford to spend the required time necessary to build a character, from scratch, that can complete end game bosses and endgame content. Fighting difficult endgame bosses is what I enjoy the most from POE and this is only possible for me when I have access to my stash tabs in Standard. I was so excited when GGG announced that POE2 was going to be an expansion of POE1. I thought to myself; "Wow! I get to fight all the new content and try out endgame versions of the new character classes as soon as I install the expansion. Heck Yes"! However, this is no longer the case. The super massive horde I've collected will no longer be accessible to me if I choose to play POE2. Yes yes, I know most POE players are on PC and most POE players play in League. This concern only affects a select minority of POE players. I'm only voicing this point of view because I absolutely love POE. It's brought me so much joy and relaxation over the years and I know that a split of the player base will drastically affect how I currently enjoy POE. I'm either forced to play, essentially solo, on POE 1 or I'm forced to grind for several months, or even years, just to be able to fight shaper. @G3Iron, you bring up an excellent point in this video. The question of "will I, as a new player, or in my case (a player with little free time), be able to make a build that can replicate the power level of the build guide I just watched on CZcams" is a very important question needs a realistic solution. Your suggestion of implementing a purchasable character level skip would greatly help the predicament I'll be in with POE2. To be clear, I'm not an advocate for pay to win and I'm not saying it should be super easy to replicate the overpowered builds that are posted on youtube. This in my opinion would ruin POE. There still needs to be struggle and triumph to achieve a good build. What I'm saying is that there needs to be a solution for new players and players with little free time get to the endgame. (Endgame meaning T14+ maps and pinnacle bosses, not just getting to maps in general)

  • @WesternHypernormalization

    I'm pretty down on the announcement in general, but I've always enjoyed the characters and narrative so I am excited for new stuff on that department.
    Also, going off pausing the trailer for the brief second they showed the passive tree, it looks like everyone starts in the center, hence the absence of Scion. While I'll miss the Scion from the character/narrative point, I kind of sorta like the idea that you'll be able to do off-spec things without feeling as crummy.

    i think its not many people mentioning this. we need to appriciate ggg letting mtx and stash tab we bought in poe1 still goes to poe2 and vice versa. i dont know if there are other game company who does this. you bought your mtx or stash tab 10 years ago and you can still use it on their newest game? thats huge!!

      Well said. It's a very interesting and unique approach, and it sounds almost too good to be true. We will see what happens for monetization for PoE 2. We've heard next to nothing about that yet.

  • @Frey_64
    @Frey_64 Před rokem +1

    the best thing its that we get to keep PoE1 as a "maybe" more of a zoomer game, and PoE2 for the slowpaced/methodical gamers . I'm gonna be playing both for sure ! sadly we still need to wait at least 1.2 years for and open beta to be able to try it.

    With GGG, "I'll believe it when I see it" has become my motto. Given the utter neglect (100% of melee, and 90% of the other skills being utterly unusable) and stubborness (the Archnemesis Era), we're now going to have twice the problems in 2 separate games.

    • @dakotacoffey3676
      @dakotacoffey3676 Před rokem +3

      I definitely agree Gumlass. All the new bells and whistles that POE2 contains will be overshadowed if they don't fix the route issues the player base has voiced for years now.

    • @thomasjay2694
      @thomasjay2694 Před rokem

      You do realise that poe2 allows for fixing these issues at its core. The current issues are due to inexperience in game development. I urge you to watch the most recent subtractem video. Some systems in the game create interactions with eachother which could not be foreseen when first implemented. Taking stuff away or changing something mechanically has huge consequences, it is not easy to change an insanely complex system. The fact the game is even working pretty well in its current state is nothing less than mind blowing. I am a software engineer and I appreciate the immense scale of this game and the amount of times my jaw dropped on season start are countless. I see what my medium size team achieves in 3 months and then compare it what ggg is doing 4 times a year and it is nuts. Saying they are not listening to the players is not fair if you vaguely understand a little bit about software development.

    • @Gumlass1
      @Gumlass1 Před rokem

      @@thomasjay2694 I am also a software engineer with 20 years experience. If you recall the Ziggy D interview after a previous league announcement, Chris asked "there's a problem with melee?". He was either ignorant of the issue, or misleading his customers intentionally... I'm not sure which is worse. To say nothing could be done to improve melee in POE 1 is laughable. It was quite playable In the past, and isn't now due largely to design and balance issues GGG have made, and refusal to give it a niche. Further, they implemented Archnemesis, and REFUSED to back down for 12 months, despite it being awful. There is no chance that was based on any technological limitation.

    • @thomasjay2694
      @thomasjay2694 Před rokem

      @@Gumlass1 I am not questioning anything you said I am simply pointing out that what you think is a simple task (balance Poe) is actually magic ;). In all seriousness though i would love to see melee coming back into the meta but I don’t have any good suggestions how to do it. Perhaps you have some good ideas and can use your platform to spread them instead making comments which achieve not much ?

    • @Gumlass1
      @Gumlass1 Před rokem

      @@thomasjay2694 here are a couple: massively increase the damage of all single target strike skills, but also the melee splash (and similar) penalty. This would allow melee to have a niche (good at bossing, bad at clear), and help offset the perpetually melee unfriendly boss design. Also, stop designing bosses that are strictly worse for melee builds. Additionally, change fortify to track total melee damage across multiple attacks, so it works on builds that hit fast rather than just slams. None of these need new technology, and I'm certain people could tolerate janky animations if it meant something was playable that otherwise wasn't... Look at Headhunter since soul eater was a thing.

    This will split the community even further probably into 60% / 40% . As starter . Then due to unfinished product and bad leagues even.further . Of poe1 doesnt get the good treatment any more or even as bad as most of last 4 years problems ... poe 1 probably suffers more loss of its base players and i dnt see poe1 play style lovers will not be playing poe2 ... what kind of mess ggg is creating ... i dnt get them turning from game lovers to money oriented decisions

    Zero faith in anything GGG touches right now. I dont think there makong good decisions lately. But man i hope and wish a lot of stuff like. Since poe2 is their hard mode. Then poe1 can have full harvest. Full ultimatum. Tons more skills. Like they just treat poe1 like a playground and see how ridiculous they can make it! I know they wont. But i hope they do.
