I'm jealous of you saying it's cold where you are. I live in Texas in the US and it's been about 110 degrees fahrenheit, which I think is about 43 celsius. And since it's Texas we have HIGH humidity as well so we are roasting! I want cold weather!!!!

Tandemaus is cute, but I agree that it doesn't feel very "ultra unlock" especially cause it isn't shiny possible. Previously we'd get a chance to get some of the regionals for ultra unlock along side Unown and something new that was all shiny potential.

It does. There's a separate evolution line with a different silhouette in the pokedex, so if you get a family of three it will have a different evolution option just like the dusk rockruff.

Tandemaus is one of my fav Pokémon's so excited for it's release - really would love to best buddy the hundo for this, so will be party-ing hard with the kids for this even if they don't want to party...! :-D I'll report back if my evolution dex is family of 3, or like my real life family, a family of 4...
I run a local town PoGo group in New York, and the vast majority of our players are not yet level 50. The 4x catch XP really is a wonderful bonus for them. It might even encourage them to get out more than usual to catch. Unfortunately, for our players that are already over level 50...and for some of us it has been almost 3-1/2 years... the ultra unlock is underwhelming. Sure many of us are piling up XP in case the level cap gets increased, but it's not really enough to get us out there this week to grind. Overall I think the XP bonus is great for the majority of players, but with nothing else really special about this event, this will definitely leave higher level players bored. Niantic really needs to raise the level cap or give us 50s some kind of badges, medals or a prestige system to keep us busy and give us something motivate us. Half of my group's level 50 players have dramatically cut back the amount of their playing or have stopped playing altogether out of boredom.
Party Play trick: if you start a party with one other person, the second person can sign out and you can play without being distance-locked to another player. So if Zoe started a party with Alan, he could then log out and go back to work and she could play how/where she wanted. (Works great with an alt or child account)
They might as well stop calling these events Ultra Unlocks. They missed releasing more Gen 8 Pokemon and shiny legendaries during their 8th anniversary, and they’ve gone with small “events” as this year’s Ultra Unlock. But this just doesn’t feel ultra to me. I remember shiny Deoxys, Zacian and Zamazenta, big things that felt exciting. Now that we’ve had so many chances to hatch shiny Riolu, the Lucario mega raid day just feels like another normal fun raid day. They could have said a Mega Ray normal raid day, shiny Gen 8 legends, or maybe even Gen 9 legendary duo and that would have been exciting. Instead we still don’t have the Gen 8 starters, but here’s some mice you have to use party play to get or do a bunch of research. I don’t have time to do a lot of this event probably. Good luck for those going for the fam of 3 though!
I wanted to utilize com day for party play maus chances. I did 18 during the 3 hours, had only 6 times with the reward of a Pokémon encounter, and 3 were tandemaus. We even tried leaving and someone else hosting the group. There seemed to be fewer mon rewards during com than there have been the last couple of days. Oh well, 3 more than I had before.

But random evolutions like wurmple and eevee have a question mark. I would assume that you could see the evolution like you can for dusk form lycanroc.

a new pokemon with a collection based evolve that doesn't do anything specifically and being in every research is actually a very fun grind! something thats just able to be grinded easily and keep gambling for the 3 family. i like this event!!!

yea, you get it in a research task. I'm honestly fine with family of two because i'm to old to have kids. I can't do "party tasks" cause i have no friends. maybe this weekend i'll do some, but i just don't have friends who play anymore i have one but i dont see her much anymore. I agree with you. I also think the lack of ledgonaries in the spawn pool for go fest was very disapointing. I don't mind being a chill time though because I don't mind chill time. I would trade the cold winter you are having down in Australia for the awfully hot summer I am dealing with in the southern US. I don't know why they put Go Fest during the most extreme weather seasons, but w/e. I agree these Ultra Unlocks seem like we'd have gotten them either way and they just added the ultra unlock title to them to make them seem exciting. Though I am happy for Mega Lucario. Hoping for Mega Gallade soon, I think that's what is holding them back from finally doing a Ralts Community Day Classic
I feel like if they released what events were after Go Fest before the weekend of then updated them based off the ultra unlock or not, then we would have a better idea if it was an ultra unlock or just back to the scheduled program
As someone who doesn't do party play or routes I probably won't be getting it because I don't know that I'm going to be doing much today so for me this ultra unlock is very exciting

From what I've seen the evolution is random so I don't think the shadow will show (similar to Eevee with the first 3 Eeveeloutions). But still too early to know. As more people catch more we might get a better idea on if it shows the shadow.
This year Pokemon Festival only biggest win is we had Beast Ball to catch Necrozma after raid wins even though Necrozma is not belong to Ultra Beast. Others are lousy and most expensive Pokemon Festival. We need to raid almost twenty times and required another 17-19 premium passes in order to get enough 1000 each type of fusion energies for Necrozma fusion. By the way an average 100 fusion energies for each Dusk Mane and Dawn Wing raid wins. Pokemon wild spawn is lousy too. Really so BAD!!!
Its unfortunate that its not as good as it is in the main games as it cant effectively use Population-bomb but fair easier to find a shiny so that's a positive. I wonder if they will ever rework the move sets that heavily rely on mechanics that just don't exist in Pokémon go so that more Pokémon have viability. Also you dismount the bike from a little step in the back similarly to how you get on the bike, but it has to be still in motion so definitely takes some skill.
Imagine if they made it so that you needed 400 candies every time you wanted to evolve a Tandemous.

Does the silhouette not show on evolution of 3 family to check after first evolve?
Doesn't appear so at this stage (I could be wrong, but seems to be random like Eeevee with Flareon/Jolteon/Vaporeon not having a shadow).
