10km Train Journey in Minecraft (Sun Valley to Forthspen Junction, Freebuild Railway)

- A run of an all-stopping service between Sun Valley, the terminus of the line, to Forthspen Junction. You can get away with passing by Fewkstone, Silplea, Telraine, Mon Lagoon and Mayley (and Shirelm in this direction) without stopping, but the other stops are essential because of entering or leaving the single-track line. The line is controlled by a working signalling system and 7 lineside signal boxes: Sun Valley, Shirelm, Kilmount Junction, Furrisall, Rylestone, Forthspen South and Forthspen Junction.
There's a flyover video of the route here, which also has much more background context about the project in the description: • Freebuild Railway sect...
I made this video a bit differently to the last journey video (the Delstat Metro local stopper on that other MC world): instead of making an on-train information screen, I've added pop-up captions - maybe that's because there's more for me to say about the scenery?
This 10km route took about 12 months to build (with a couple of those months being spent inactive, so maybe more like 10). Sun Valley was completed on 24 December 2022, and Forthspen Junction was completed on 2 December 2023. The Freebuild Railway project was originally started in December 2022, and it was created as part of a follow-along video series (which I've not continued since): • Freebuild Railway
(Trivia: the single-track automatic level crossing tutorial I did last year was filmed near the start of the line, at Sands Road crossing!)
Intermediate stations list:
- 00:00 Sun Valley (departure at 00:39)
- 03:52 Fewkstone
- 06:50 Shirelm
- 10:43 Silplea
- 17:19 Furrisall
- 19:47 Telraine
- 21:58 Rylestone
- 24:02 Mon Lagoon
- 26:56 Mayley
- 27:57 Forthspen Junction
Thank you very much, this is very inspiring. Recently I've been looking for more content and ideas about rails and it's refreshing to see that there's still community interest in this forgotten item from Mojang.
there is something so pure and amazing about these kinds of projects. I love rail networks in Minecraft and I hope you make more! Maybe you could add metro maps to help people get some idea of how the tracks are laid out?
Also, congrats on your biggest video yet! A tip from someone who's been here before: don't obsess over it too much. When I got a bit of success on CZcams, I focused so hard on it that I forgot how to not be depressed, and I didn't even get the success I was chasing.
That won't be a problem for me - I'm not a content creator as such, I just post videos I feel like making and don't think about the reception or anything too much. The same goes for my level crossings channel too - literally everything I make online is for my own benefit and I couldn't really care much who watches them. Though I'm surprised that this video got so many views ngl
this video makes me feel like I swallowed a whole bottle of benadryl
Thank You so much! Earned new sub :D
Good work! 👌
This is absolutely wonderful. I am somebody who enjoys engine PoV cameras, and a Minecraft re-creation was a fun detour.
Likewise, respect. I have been building in my own hobby world on Java since 2012. I admire your attention to detail at player scale. :)
Thank you! And 2012 is far longer than me; the MRB's first project was 2019 lol
@@minecraft.rail.officialTime and place, is all. haha
Nice One!
Wow, how do y'all make this stuff?
Years of experience ;)
@@minecraft.rail.official is this just singleplayer or are there other dudes in here?
@@tapgames3465 Nah, I did it all by myself - I'm extremely particular about the way I want it done and wouldn't trust others to do it properly 😂
It does take a while, though, and I've got a job and a main hobby to do in my life besides Minecraft so I don't always get time to play haha
@@minecraft.rail.official dang that's cool
Now this is wholesome ❤❤
Good work! love the bridges and differnt biomes the rails go through!
Aww, thanks! I'm very impressed with this project, it's certainly my best one to date!
wow nice, I enjoyed this ride
>Has teleporters to travel instantaneously to any point
>Dedicates dozens of hours to build a slow railway
Life's not about the destination, it's about the journey :)
Also, couple of corrections: the teleporters don't just go anywhere, the command blocks specifically go between each signal box (so that the rail movements can be controlled). Also, it took most of a year to make so a little bit more than a dozen hours 😂
@@minecraft.rail.official hmm okay so I correct my statement: hundreds of hours.
I'm just joking btw, maybe the real travel is the -friends we made- blocks we crafted along the way
thanks man, this made me happy
Wow this is soon good I'm trying this tooo

Really appreciated your hard work, btw I'm using this video for my sleep, the rail track sound is so calming and feels like asmr 😂, may i know how much time you spend to build this ??
Everything you need to know about the video, including that, is in the description. Description boxes are very important on this channel, as there's a lot of context and stuff I can't put in the video itself!
@@minecraft.rail.official ahh sry, i doesn't read it hehe, good work man!, still using this for my sleep :v
Get this man a pc and create mod 😳
Awesome work especially for vanilla pocket edition
I don't really agree with mods; too complicated and kinda lessen the meaning of Minecraft if you ask me
you should use create mod if you can build this kind of stations! Create mod let you makes very cool trains
Unfortunately this world is in pocket edition and Create is only for java... If they want to use the Create mod theyd have to make a new world because i don't think you can export worlds on your phone
Actually, I'm more than happy using plain vanilla Minecraft, mods won't really change anything in my opinion :)
Is this a multi-player or ur just yourself?
Just me :)
Ohh well im building this too but im not done yet and theres no village only 1 😅 ima post it when im donee@@minecraft.rail.official
Oh then why someone is here?
BTW mine only is about 9km away [WAMDA to LANDRO
@@angel._.544 There's nobody else here, the player you see with the username is me on my tablet, and the player with the camera riding the cart is me on my phone, not signed into any account as I only have 1. The same applies for when I'm making my timelapses.
