I bought my T7i with an EFS 35mm F2.8 IS Macro lense as an introduction to apsc to do flower and leaf macros. It turns out the 35mm lense is excellent for a walk around camera. When I saw your T7i tutorial on video digital zoom I tried it and it's insane how much zoomed in a macro lense can zoom. Thanks for all your T7i videos. They helped alot.
If you buy a camera for video only you should buy a camcorder, if you buy a camera for video & pictures, choose full frame and/or mirrorless and choose the one with best value for the money, the one you can use and afford, and the one with a feature set you will use. I see no one upgrading from the T7i to the T8i. Seriously, Canon upgraded the video quality and downgraded the picture quality, then merely provided a different way of doing some of the same things, albeit maybe more conveniently. For that, Canon wants $100 more for the T8i over the T7i. To me, the duel pixel AF of the T7i is more important than this version of 4K video, because I buy cameras to mainly take pictures.
I'm surprised they excluded dual pixel from the 4k. The 90D is $400 more, but so packed with usable features that they seem to be forcing customers who need working 4k up to that model. I don't think it's worth upgrading if you own a T7i.
Can you please tell me Which lens are you using for this video and what kind of microphone you using for audio recording? I clearly hear your voice without noise. I really wanted to know the gears you using and setting on the camera. Thank you.
Hi Aaron, nice video. You did mention this video was taken by 90D..what lens did you use? I am interested in T8i but i am skeptical it is not dual pixel auto focus on 4K? I would prefer this 90D the video looks like 2.7K buy its only 1080P.
Hey! I’m struggling on what camera I’m wanting to buy to start my photography business. This will be my first camera I’m stuck on if I should buy the T7i or the canon 5D mark IV . My photography style I want it to be natural light with blurr background nice clean photos
I don't know if I am mad, but I just got T7i in December, I needed it for our trip and I am happy with most of the pictures, but that eye detection in optical view finder would make a big difference for me, I am going to wait now till YOU get the R5 to see if it is worth maybe to splurge on that one, I have answer for you PAYPAL credit will help (that's what I am planning to use if I decide to get R5). I am just not sure if I want full frame camera
If the 4k had dual pixel autofocus the T8i would be pretty amazing. However the R5 is going to blow the doors off anything I own. Super excited to see that!!
I really love your channel and amazing useful videos please i need your advise am new in photography and planning to buy one DSLR camera am really confusing between Canon t7i and Canon SL3/250d , I heard soon Canon will release T8i so please need your advice which one to buy ?!! thank you in advance
I would avoid the SL3 for photography, I'd say it's the weakest of the 3. The T7i has been a great learning camera for me and produces great images. The T8i will definitely be the best option only because of the newest, but the launch is uncertain at the moment. Not sure when it'll be available. But if you look around you may be able to find some excellent package bundles on the T7i.
I'd wait to see some real world reviews on the T8i. (If it ever gets released). It looks like Canon made some pretty significant improvements, might be well worth the wait. Plus the T7i should drop in price a few hundred.
No Dual Pixel autofocus with 4K lol. Canon always missing something, i have a Canon 77D for 2 years now and still happy with it. I might get a Canon 90D
Hi Aaron thanks so much for this video and insight. I think I'm already passed the upgrade part from t7i to t8i at this point. but what would you recommend/suggest between the Rebel SL3 DSLR (4k) vs the EOS T7i which one would you recommend? the sl3 I would want to try out for the 4k (knowing there will be no dual pixel autofocus with 4K then full hd option) but I also see that the SL3 is much less $ than the t7i, I am having a hard time comparing and been doing so for about 7 hours now lol. please help! also what camera are you using for this video? it looks amazing. any other suggestion on camera for cinematic film feel videos and photography?.. I am still trying to purchase the best option.
I'm using the 90D for this video, the best all around camera I've ever used for CZcams and photography. I haven't used the SL3, had zero interest in it due to the 9af points in the view finder vs the 45af points in the T7i. Since photography was equally important to me, I wanted the better viewfinder. However the 4k is getting to more and more important for video so that is a tough choice in 2020. Ultimately if it is at all possible I'd recommend getting the 90D. It is well worth every penny. Second choice would be sl3 if video is your priority, the T7i is photography is your priority. And the bundles available on both now are pretty massive deals, on Amazon.
I know this is an older video and I may not get a reply but I wanted to ask what you would recommend for product photography. I never use any of the video features and would love to really nice camera that will take good product photos when paired with a nice lens. With that said what camera and lens would you recommend? My items are mostly on the smaller side (jewelry, cutting boards, apparel, candles, etc... small gift able items) I have a canon T7i and after dropping it I have been having a lot of issues with it hence needing a new camera.
These are still great options. The newer Mirrorless lineup has a few very inexpensive options as well, and add some excellent features for photography, especially eye tracking on people and animals. So practically every photo is perfectly focused on the subject.
@@FitsandFun I haven't looked into the mirrorless yet because I have some lens from my T7i that I would love to be able to use with whatever I do end up getting. So would you recommend one over the other with the EF mount?
I am upgrading from a Rebel T3i what canon body do you recommend the T8i? Mostly for filming youtube video/vlogs/beauty and vertical videos for IG/IGTV.
@@FitsandFun For anyone else interested just checked the Canon U.K website the 850d will be available from 30th April 2020. Body only price £819.99 and with kit lens £899.99. Pretty expensive with the 4k still having a crop factor and no dual pixel cmos AutoFocus on the 4k.
Hey Aaron I wonder if you heard about Lumoid and Borrow Lens for renting camera body, lenses, and equipment. Hopefully you'll check them out sometime if you have the time.
It's an older technology that is slower and not as accurate as Canons newer Dual Pixel Autofocus. Dual Pixel Autofocus is considered the industry's best autofocus system by the majority of professional's.
Personally not too concerned with the video aspects of these cameras....I wish they had models that sacrificed video for more still photography upgrades. Like in camera stabilization and weather proofing and dual card slots etc. What do you think....a camera with those kind of features for $ 700ish ??
I personally use my 6DMKII as basically a photography camera only, and the 90D for a video camera. The R5 will have all the things you've just mentioned. But at $3500+ or more it probably should.
@@FitsandFun yes...the models with those features are high priced....and I realize Canon is trying to not give it all away and hurt sales of particular models.....but it would be cool to see a camera dedicated to still photography again....then they could put the tech money into features only offered in high price models...call it the SPi ?
I didn't see a bump in image quality worth the $1600. Not on my T7i. However on my full frame 6dMKii I absolutely saw a huge bump in image quality. I think the crop softens the image. The Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 is extremely sharp on the T7i, I think it's much sharper and is over 1k cheaper.
I would, neither has image stabilization, and the Sigma is designed for a crop sensor. I was very disappointed with the results of the Canon 24-70mm f2.8 on the T7i. Especially since it is amazing on the 6dMKii.
Aarons Practical Reviews one more thing im stuck on getting a 24-70 but i read that the tokima 24-70mm is actually better than the canon 24-70mm because its not a full frame and its a crop camera... perfect for the t7i .. whats ur opinion
Which one is better for canon t7i rebol eso and other one t7i whats the difference? I want to be able take pictures and take videos I’m a mom soon to be of 5 I want to be able to record my birth in July and take pictures thanks so much
I believe the T8i release date has been delayed anyway. But I can positively say that the T7i is a great camera for both video and photography. The key is to upgrade your lens or lenses. I'd recommend the Canon 24mm f2.8 for video and the Canon 50mm f1.8 for photography. As a start up kit. Both lenses are very affordable for beginners.
Yeah, doesn't make sense to exclude arguably the best auto focusing system in the business. If nothing else it should make the T7i owners a bit less anxious to upgrade.
Just buy a video camera then...jeez ! I wish they stopped catering to video on some of these models all together and give still photographers more features for the money. In camera stabilization...dual cards and weather proofing etc. It would be nice to have a $700 camera with those features !!....

do you know when this is coming out ?
