  • In this video I shine a lot on Lyme Disease. This is an incredibly misunderstood bacterial infection that can persist for years or even decades. It can trigger Meningitis, PANS, POTS, Encephalitis, Neuropathy and more.

Great video! Chronic Lyme is 100% linked to PANS/PANDAS, ME/CFS/Post exertional malaise, Hypermobility, Tourette’s, Long COVID, EBV, POTS, EDS, ADHD, ASD, asthma, allergies, fibromyalgia, food sensitivities, migraines, mood, autoimmune conditions, cognitive disorders, psychiatric disorders, highly sensitive personality traits and even some vaccine reactions etc.
The thing that seems to unite all of these conditions and any mysterious chronic illness/symptoms that can’t be detected on standard blood tests is mast cell activation. I would highly recommend looking into this.
Lyme can trigger or worsen mast cell activation as can stress (physical and emotional), other viral or bacterial infections eg. EBV and Covid-19 (many cases of Long covid are mast cell activation), vaccines (I’m not anti-vaccine, just something to be aware of), certain foods, smells, chemicals, surgeries, chemotherapy etc.
Estrogen enhances mast cell activation and testosterone suppresses it which is why onset or worsening of the above conditions are most common during and after puberty in teen girls and fertile women/AFAB, especially during parts of the menstrual cycle when Estrogen peaks. Before puberty, boys are most likely to experience onset of these conditions.
Mast cells are a type of immune cell that reacts to foreign invaders or threats like viruses, bacteria, foods, allergens etc. and release inflammatory chemicals into the body. Symptoms depend largely on where in the body they have this effect (seems to be influenced by genetics) and to what degree. I don’t know if you’ve looked into mast cells or not but definitely something I would recommend looking into. Also, have you been tested and/or treated for SIBO? This can be a huge contributor to mast cell activation.
Things that can calm mast cell activation include low dose naltrexone, IVIG, certain antibiotics, ozone therapy, vagus nerve stimulation, upper cervical chiropractic work and neck curve correction (helps vagus nerve) etc. which have frequently improved and sometimes completely cured Chronic Lyme, PANS/PANDAS patients amongst others. The vagus nerve links the gut and brain and dampens the inflammatory response in the body, including of mast cells.
Sorry for infodumping, just thought I’d share what I’ve learnt over many years of researching and battling my own chronic illnesses. Hope this information can be of some use to you!

By the looks of it I likely have Lyme. I have an another appointment with a specialist in a few months and I'm pretty sure they will think it is Lyme as I had a typical response to Lyme treatment, antibodies to the bacteria that cause Lyme, and classic Lyme symptoms.

Great video. Do you think you’ve actually got Lyme or is it just antibodies stirred up by the immune disfunction that is PANS?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Lyme as my symptoms do look like it. I'm going to be trialled on Antibiotics specific to Lyme I think and possibly Low Dose Naltrexone to see if there is any difference. ♡
