Celeste A-side soundtrack: Wow, so peaceful/triumphant! Lena did a great job setting an atmosphere
Celeste B-side soundtrack: Now it's time to get *Funky*
pizza tower existed beyond the initial release date
Seen some people recommend the Hades OST, I couldn't agree more. It's mainly guitar, and it doesn't miss, trust me!
I second this.
Celeste pfp gang
why did i hear this on madelines dialogue voice
I love how each B side captures a COMPLETELY different mood and they are all so divergent, not just from their respective A sides but from each other. Love the quick dub steppy type beats of the 1st, the dark ominous bell/dulcimer gongs of the 2nd, the absolute SLAPS of the 3rd, the warm electrotrance embrace of the 4th, the bittersweet jazz of the 5th, the feral wild 6th, the austere, rhythmic discipline of the 7th.
Your vocab goes hard in this
@@OuaisAmeliewhy thank you :)
@@StewNWTwhere is the eighth! its so underrated
Mirror Temple (Mirror Magic Mix) is probably one of my favorite songs I've heard in a game. Such a funky beat.
The middle of the Celestial Resort mix immediately made me feel like I was playing FZero. I have all the super colorful limited edition Lena Raine Celeste vinyl and it's glorious
My personal most memorable ones were Mirror temple and Celestial Resort probably because they are complete opposites in a way. And Golden ridge but thats more about the fact how long it took me there. Like your reaction, keep it going. I kind of wish of reaction to Rain world ost but Mario games Ost would be cool.
didn't expect someone to recommend rain world. seriously underappreciated ost. probably cause of how rarely you hear it.
Mix Master Theo
Golden Ridge feels sooo good to listen to. It gives me like this feeling of staring out a car window as a kid, watching the clouds fly by and making shapes with them. Like looking into the memories of the past. Only for the drums (anxiety) to kick in. but yet... I still feel happy with my past. Its such a good song for the point in the game that its remixing.
I agree it has this warm, late or night or rainy indoor day nostalgic feel to it, my fave track in the whole game
People in chat were saying 4B is the weakest track and I'm here losing my goddamn mind
@@ClancyNimbus Couldnât agree with the chat more
1b - 1:40 Forsaken city (Sever the Skyline Mix)
2b - 4:10 Old Site (Black Moonrise Mix)
3b - 7:34 Celestial Resort (Good Karma Mix)
4b - 11:20 Golden Ridge (Golden Feather Mix)
5b - 16:14 Mirror Temple (Mirror Magic Mix)
6b - 20:09 Reflection (Center of the Earth Mix)
7b - 23:04 Summit (No More Running Mix)
8b - 31:41 The Core (Say Goodbye Mix)
35:28 Area 1 Demo (Bonus Track) (this one is not used in the game)
I love this game, i've got 201 strawberries and the only one left is golden on 8b
Used. Official thank you!
â@@MusicTheoryforGamers oh, sorry i typed "Sever" incorrectly (and i also did some changes to 7b and bonus track names)
i do not believe that you got farewell golden before 8b
@@__archermaster__8790 well, for me 8bg seem much harder than fwg, but now when im trying 8bg, i might prove myself wrong
@@__archermaster__8790 agreed
Your comments on the Golden Ridge remix are so legit. It's the most lowkey track of the B-sides but it's somehow my favorite. đđ
And fun fact, that bonus track at the end was the first provisional piece of music to go with Celeste's first level during testing (which would later be replaced by First Steps)
Thank you for your support and thank you for watching!
4B is my favourite in the entire game, and that is saying something. I like that it stands alone as completely unlike anything else in the game. You could see from chat that it's a 50 50 split - no one dislikes it but it's either people's top or bottom track. It has such a warm, nostalgic and soothing feel - reminds me of playing SNES late at night when I was young just discovering new worlds. So beautiful. I'm a doctor and whenever I have a rude or frustrating patient encounter I play 4B on youtube and it just soothes my whole vibe before I go see my next patient
2 mello's work on Mirror Temple B-Side is phenomenal, its my fav track from the game.
I wonder if you could check out his album called 'Memories of Tokyo-to'.
It's a tribute to the classic game series Jet Set Radio which had a very funky hiphop soundtrack. Love your videos, keep them coming!
yes pls
I'd recommend getting around to the A Hat in Time OST sometime. AHiT is a 3D platformer game that has some great characters and fantastic music.
AHiT is now added! Thank you!
Yess!! AHIT has an insanely good OST
yooo ahit ost good :o
There is still a little bit of the Celeste ost that you haven't heard yet which is the dlc music. Try to search for chapter 9 ost if you are planning to listen more from Celeste
He's already doing it
I'd like to recommend a few soundtracks! I saw someone recommend Chicory, which is a personal favorite of mine, same composer as Celeste, much more acoustic. Then there's Outer Wilds, which is super atmospheric, as it's for a game about space exploration, very satisfying layering of instruments in a number of the songs. Outer Wilds has a DLC called Echoes of the Eye with its own soundtrack too. And then finally, Friday night Funkin is super interesting as it bounces from genre to genre like a pinball machine, it's a rhythm game where you rap/sing battle a bunch of different people that each have their own sound.
Oooooh! Thank you! Adding these to the list for voting!
@@MusicTheoryforGamers I can't wait! Though I would heavily recommend not listening to the Outer Wilds OST if you plan on playing it on stream, as it contains a lot of spoilers for the game.
I'd suggest against Outer Wilds, as its soundtrack spoils a lot of things and it's the kind of game where knowing things about it ruins the experience
Trine (1 and 2) and Ori and the Blind Forest also have amazing soundtracks and so far no music teacher has reacted to them, so I'd suggest those as well. ^^
You should definitely consider listening to Risk of Rain and its sequel's soundtracks in the future. Some of the best ever.
hard agree! risk of rain 1's amazing songs and motifs and how they get reincarnated in risk of rain 2 is amazing, especially when you see how Chris Christodoulou's style evolved over the years
YESSS, I am a huge fan of Christodoulou. He and Ben Prunty are easily two of my favorite artists.
It would be a pleasure to see you reacting to Outer wilds and Outer Wilds: call of the eye.
love listening to these kind of videos while studying. Very relaxing, and bopping... Keep it up!
Thank you for your support!
Your commentary is getting better fast! I really liked the analysis on 4B :)
I can't wait to see the Omori and Celeste Farewell streams :D
There is so much more to come! Still finding my stride and pacing. Thank you for watching
Either the Dead Cells OST or the A Hat In Time OST would be amazing if you could react to them!
Adding AHIT to a future vote!
@@MusicTheoryforGamers Yoooooooo! Thanks a lot!
I know this one may be a more niche one, but the Ultrakill soundtrack has all bangers. They, similar to toby fox's soundtrack, were made by the creator themselves, hakita! I would highly recommend it.
Terraria calamity OST and subnautica OST definitely.
4:10 Ben Prunty is mostly known for his work on the FTL soundtrack, which I would definitely recommend checking out if you you enjoyed this.
I havenât played Faster Than Light but I love what Iâve heard of itâs OST.
Told you it was amazing! Great reactions man, Always always love and apreciate your input and toughts in these, fantastic.
Wow, I was watching your first reaction to the Celeste OST as you were streaming this video apparently. Glad I discovered your channel, you gave some great insights into how the music is used and made me realize the correlations that were being made with the characters and music in the game lol.
Didn't see anyone recommend the Doom,The Last of Us, Terraria, Fez, Into the Breach, Hyper Light Drifter or Oxenfree soundtracks much to my surprise so I will (even though some people probably did).
Another really fun reaction stream! Couldnât be there live today, but Iâm always still happy to see them after as VODs. Hope to see you play Celeste one day - one of my favorite games of all time. Still gotta 100% it one day - itâs definitely tough.
Hyperlight Drifter has a pretty cool OST. Also the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask OST is very good.
Absolutely LOVED your reaction to the celestial resort B side mix!! I love really energetic music so it was definitely my favorite B side track!
Keep up the great work!
heck yeah Celeste, love it man. Might I recommend some Mario games to react to? I would suggest both Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 3D World. The first of which uses a live orchestra and the later soundtrack centers on jazz with a big band feel. Love your reactions to all of these amazing soundtracks man keep it up.
Chris, YES I want to do the Mario games!
@@MusicTheoryforGamers I'd defo also recommend the mario kart 8 deluxe OST, was also recorded via life orchestra and I am a huge fan of its soundtrack and everything it has to offer!
Galaxy is just a orchestrated masterpiece, whatâcha waiting for!! XD
@@MusicTheoryforGamers galaxy's soundtrack is absolutely amazing
@@MusicTheoryforGamers galaxy and it's sequel have a really incredible soundtrack that changes dynamically with what's going on, I love it
Love your reaction and analysis of these soundtracks, man! Also, since I haven't seen you react to it yet, I'd almost insist that you have to listen to the Hades soundtrack. I have a feeling you'll love it!
would love to see a PvZ ost reaction, it's great
Celestial Resort is my favorite song from the game. So good. Thanks for reacting to it :)
The reaction to 3B was perfect. Absolute FUNK
The cool thing about Jukio Callio is that they made the whole soundtrack of fall guys, which is absolutely amazing
An amazing OST with not enough recognition is the Starbound OST!
If you do ever end up checking it out, though, you'll have to go digging a bit.
I can link a playlist with the most accurate soundtrack, since the only other one (I think) is the steam one, and that costs $0.99 plus is missing certain tracks
I can feel the FTL instruments in Old Site.
Ben Prunty is the composer of the FTL soundtrack.
I must recommend to listen to the soundtracks of Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Gareth Coker's ability to tell a story and evoke emotion through music is just insane
He put it on the list of upcoming reactions, but there are many soundtracks coming before Ori. I'm really excited for that reaction though, both the game and the soundtrack are absolute masterpieces
I love watching you. watching you dissect each piece is great! since it's hard for me to get to the livestreams and i can't put them in chat, so I'll put some soundtracks that i would like you to listen to here!
Chrono Trigger from Snes
Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2
Hades
Team Fortress 2
Skullgirls 2nd Encore
I wanna recommend the Rabi-Ribi OST. An underrated game with an amazing OST that even received a whole official orchestral arrangement that, iirc, got completely implemented in the game via DLC.
I'll never forget getting to talk to 2 Mello online while playing Yu-Gi-Oh, what an experience
He seems like such a genuinely kind person. He doesn't just give away that kindness, hes a boundary setter. I think people like that are the kindest of all, because boundary within and without.
And of course, just super duper talented. The man eats shits and breathes music.
I'm so glad you liked the good karma mix. That's my second favourite video game theme, second to futabas Palace in p5
I would recommend reacting to the ace attorney (possibly the entire trilogy) ost! It is great.
I would recommend Sonic, but there's so many games with great music I wouldn't know where to start! It would probably have to be Unleashed, Colors, or Lost World
Howdy there, discovered your channel recently and immediately fell in love with your content!
It's a bit of a wild shot, as it is not.. quite.. video game music, but actually yes, I think you could find interesting tracks from the (many) Homestuck albums.
In case you do not know, Homestuck is a webcomic composed of mspaint art, lots of dialogues, videos, video game sections... And lots of music.
Some like 'Time on my side', 'cascade', 'Crystalmethequins', 'Honestuck', or yet again... 'Megalovania'.
Indeed, Toby Fox has worked on many music's for that web comic (him and Homestuck's author are buddies), and this would be the second version of Megalovania (the third being the one we know from undertale.)
I think there's lot to find there if you are interested, many artists and musics of all kinds, from electronic, chiptune, wave, to rock and metal, classic and some weirder ones like palindromic music.
As for the glassy/metallic sound in Black Moonrise Mix (most prominent around 5:10-5:20), I believe those are handbells.
I glad I got to listen to this, I tried the B sides in the game but got frustrated because of how hard they were, so I only ever heard the first song on the B sides.
7;36 good karma is the music that constantly says to you "no, that was not whats folowing" and its deceptivly good.
I'd love to see a reaction to the night in the woods ost! It's probably one of my absouksye favorites
Have to recommend the Shovel Knight, Super Meat Boy, and Outer Wilds OSTs. All phenomenal in their own ways and would love to hear your takes on any of them!
I canât wait for farewell and Iâd like to make some suggestions. I donât know if you have done these already, but Subnautica has some really immersive, and sometimes even scary music. And maybe you could react to some old PokĂ©mon game music such as diamond/pearl, that game personally has my favourite music in the series.
Hey, you should react to the chapter 9 (farewell) ost of celeste. It's really good!
Day 2 of asking for a reaction of the "Ori and the Will of the Wisps" soundtrack...
3B is fucking incredible though. Slaps so hard. Totally Mega man vibes
Ah, the sound of pain and suffering
So, the artist that remixed "Reflection", Jukio Kallio, is one I knew beforehand because of another game OST he made that I really like: Nuclear Throne
Just another note to scribble onto the list, for whenever you feel like tackling a bit of Post-Apocalyptic-Western-Style!
And of course, I take the opportunity to say, I've been really enjoying these Lives: found you thanks to NieR: Automata (also, yes, DO take a listen to the other works from Okabe like everyone's tellng you, there's so much good stuff) and I'm catching up with all the other OST I love! Keep up this amazing work!
gotta highly recommend you listen to the OneShot ost
the game is underrated but the soundtracks can be beautiful (they aren't on Spotify but they can be found on youtube!) its kinda like teh 4th wall breaking aspect of undertale at full force
but the music is beautiful sad and sometimes creepy its great
Oneshot just makes me sad, but like, in a good way
I cri every day you forget to include the Farewell ost of this game
Mirror magic mix is my JAM
Hope you listen to Celeste Chapter 9 ost, it's so good!
This is how i learned what an SCC is
Thereâs a little more Celeste music after Farewell if you want to do Madelineâs Grab Bag. (Iâm not sure if itâs available anywhere other than bandcamp)
I highly recommend listening to the beautiful OneShot OST
A hat in time next :)
farewell is very soon. the entire album is great
The Ori games have beautiful soundtrack hope you can react to them
You should check out the crypt of the necrodancer OST. I think you'd really like it.
The part of the bum baba you recognize from Super Mario bros is definitely from Super Mario World on the SNES, it's a commonly used instrumental, esp the the stage finishing music once you cross the end gate before the screen winks out.
I recommend checking out the Ultrakill ost, all of it is really good and all but 2 songs are made by the lead developer of the game. A lot of the songs also lead into each other which I find cool
Can I make a suggestion for The Crypt Of The Necrodancer or Cadence Of Hyrule soundtracks? Danny Baranowsky did a wonderful job with those songs.
I've only realized it now. Is that the farewell theme played on the guitar at 20:24 - 20:32?
Hades OST reaction? That game has some really solid songs and I think you'd really like em.
4B is my favourite piece in the entire game. Not sure why as it sounds like nothing else. It just is. It's so soothing and warm but in an old school SNES type way.
Lena raine is amazing but these tracks are some of my favorites in the soundtrack as well
Sever the Skyline, Good Karma and Mirror Magic are easily my favorites. Love seeing your reactions! I strongly recommend the Sonic Mania ost, bangers all around!
Awesome thank you!
czcams.com/video/J_j1Pbk_8lk/video.html
Love the reactions! Iâd love to see a reaction of the Terraria Calamity Mod soundtrack, made by DM Dokuro, probably my favourite soundtrack ever.
I think you should check out Terraria OST, it is really good.
Also I can reccomend Terraria Calamity Mod OST, one of the best OST's, even though it isn't a game on it's own.
Calamity OST is the best :D
You totally should react to to the Umineko No Naku Koro Ni soundtrack, one of the best VN ost out there.
bro no way i saw thatotherandrew in the live chat â â â
yes please do super mario galaxy.
Will do!
@@MusicTheoryforGamers itâs some of the greatest orchestral music youâll ever hear, so beautifully put together especially for something like Mario
Good recommendation
If you're looking for a jazz OST to react to I would definitely recommend Skullgirls ^-^
I really recommend the soundtracks of Risk of Rain and Risk of Rain 2 by Chris Christoudoulou
A rather underrated game soundtrack I'd recommend is Heart & Slash. It's very funky stuff
Suikoden I OST!! It's got the most incredible world music
May I request that you listen to the Terraria Calamity Mod Soundtrack? The whole thing was done by DM Dokuro, and it's the single greatest soundtrack I have ever heard. Especially since it was done almost entirely by one person. I would greatly appreciate it.
Ayo I got a nice recommendation, you should check out the Binding of Isaacs soundtracks. They are really good and a lot of the boss songs feature guitar
I might actually check out a let's play of this game just for the music
Try out Lisa the painful soundtrack. Its pretty iconic
I strongly recommend listening to the Wandersong OST. I think the game is a hidden gem that not many people know about, which is unfortunate because it's my favorite game alongside Celeste! I think you'll really like the music from Wandersong and I'd like to see what you think of it!
This music makes it so much easier to keep going after (tens of) thousands of fair deaths across the game.
The last track in here is the original track Lena proposed for the first chapter. It got replaced by First Steps.
You should try listening to the risk of rain 2 soundtrack because it is filled with bangers.
i can't do b-side and vibe to the music at the same time though (it's too good)
currently collecting all hearts for chapter 9 (too lazy to skip)
Interesting
hope you do omori next!
B-sides are very underated (except for mirror temple b-side cuz every one likes that banger of a song!)
It would be cool If you reacted to the binding of isaac repentance ost
it's not an OST, but you should definitely check out some work by Japanese producer Camellia, like his undertale/deltarune remixes or albums like "Tera I/0" or "U.U.F.O."
It's really great fast music, often around 260 bpm with genres like Speedcore or Metal, so not really for everyone, but it's just a piece of art
HEEEEEEEYAAA
I recommend the Guilty Gear Strive ost! It's really nice imo, I'd love to see you react to it!
I suggest you react to the ost from one of the danganronpa games, they are pretty good actually!
Seems I have too much trauma from 3B and 3C to appreciate good karma anymore.
Feels too samey and overbearingly high energy in a level that tests my patience
The side-b of mirror temple looks like a DK level
