Someone pointed out that when Jordan's past self in the memory accuses them, and they try to defend themselves initially, it matches the power set of each gender form-- the female form is the one accusing, on the offensive (her ability is to shoot energy pulses) and the male one is being defensive (his ability is being super durable)
Ooh I never knew they had different powers. I know that he is super durable and can shoot energy blasts from their fight scenes but I didn't know it's separated between their female form and male form.

Well, if you remember correctly, all they did was Grab him and refreeze him so I’m assuming we’ll see him again when he’s needed
Maybe they also give him more powers to make him more equal to Homelander
I love how the "Make them forget" scene shows how much influence Shetty has over Cate, even in her own mind!
It also shows how formative human connection is to a child. Kate's mother abandoned her and she type she'd her fear and showed Kate compassion...hate her all you want but she's a better person than Kate's mother
@@sosayweall2509 She showed Cate compassion in order to manipulate her. That's not better, it's waaaaay worse. Cate's mother is awful, no objection from me there, but at least the awful is honest. Shetty is awful, but making Cate believe she's not, in order to use her.

LOVE this episode! The moment when Golden Boy says "I miss you man" to Andre, and you realize that it's not just a passive replay of Cate's memories, hit me hard! Plus, the "imaginary friend" Soldier Boy was one of the funniest performances I've seen in a long time!

As a kid I watched the Jumanji animated series a lot. That show was pretty insane. It really made you feel like you were in a jungle with the weirdest possible things that could happen were possible. I really loved that style of animation too. Not necessarily the art style, but how MiB, Godzilla, and Parasyte the Maxim were animated. Those colors, that method, I really wish I knew more shows in that style. It was rough, gritty, tacky, visually impressive at times, enough, it was a lot. I liked the action. Anyone get what I'm saying?
This came out the same week as Ahsoka episode 5 with a VERY similar setup (going into memories to deal with past trauma) and it was shocking how much more impactful to me this episode was. Both episodes even had a cameo from a big name character from another series. The distinction for my taste was that I cared and feared for the stakes of these characters much more than I did for Ahsoka even though I’ve known her for years now. Sadly, the writing in this was just much better in my opinion

I like the story telling potential of the virus. Here we root for it being destroyed. But for the boys it's a way to get rid of Homelander. It's a very polarizing thing

Emma and Sam hooking up was nice - they are the two that really need the support of another person. The others are all damaged and turn to other people for relief, but they don't NEED a second person to make them function better. Emma is a genuinely compassionate character too, she's perfect for Sam, and Sam seeing all Emma's inherent qualities is just what she needs.
What Jordan did was awful but what brinks did it s even worse when you realize that he manipulated jordan so easily because he became exactly what Jordan needed, a father figure that actually see him for who she was.

Sometimes I hate seeing characters villainized and written off without given a chance to recover. Up to a certain point, I sympathized for Cate but her friends should have tried to help her. The moment she undid all her tampering was a moment she was showing that she wanted to make things right, suppose it was too late?

I have always thought that the augmenting Luke with Sam was thr Vought approved "ways to kill Homelander ". I don't know that the virus was necessarily Vought approved and thar us why it was so hush hush.

@@iampotsataja I don't know, my answer is kind of spoiler about what happens at the end of next episode and whether there has been a turnaround in a relationship on the Boys. But I think the virus is all Shetty and the doctor, he just science based and well, her reason.

@@iampotsataja ah, I think I recently had watched another reasction to it, but also, there have been a lot of articles on what is happening on the Boys this season and even though its a lot of, and oh yeah, it sticks out. The bigger other thing that I think might be relevant to season 2 of this show in the next episode is it makes it apparent that Jordan is..nevermind...
But a thought of this episode always brings me, the lady at Red River who just always seems harried, actually seems to be proving to be one of the parental figures on this show who actually helped and doesn't try to use the kids. So Marie can feel guilty and be upset and she can more quickly figure Shetty out because she has had a female mentor who has treated her like a person.
