The was a good bargain on the broccoli/cauliflower. I too am always looking for the bargains. Great idea on buying the bacon on sale and frying it up for bacon bits. This salad looks absolutely delicious. Will make it for sure.

Hi Bonita hi Raymond. Goodness the summer is going by so fast but it’s still summer so let’s enjoy. What a tasty looking salad. I love apples and I love broccoli and this is right up my alley. I like cumin I bet adds nice flavour to the salad. Great salad to bring to a bbq. You never disappoint Bonita. And I also love sesame seed oil. Make a little bigger helping there Bonita to taste. Raymond and I want a tasty pooh lol. Thank you for sharing 🤗
Hi Jerri-ellen, It's always so lovely to hear from you and we agree the summer is going to fast. We only started getting nice weather the first week in July. Before that it was cold and rainy. This looks much better than the other broccoli salads I’ve seen. Terrific ingredients, a bit different. I like that.
I’ve never been a big fan of raw broccoli and cauliflower . I’d like to blanch them and drain real well. And maybe mix my wet ingredients together before adding to the broccoli. What do you think?

I'm sure if you blanch them it would be nice but you will lose the crunch of the salad from those fresh veggies. I like to wash or rinse them well and sometimes I soak the two broccoli and cauliflower for a few hours. Then drain and make this salad. But give it a try you still got the crunch of the onions and apples. Thank you for stopping by and enjoy!! Bonita

I'm trying to lose weight, so this would be a good dish for me. And all sorts of other vegetables and even fruits could be added to it. Perhaps some sliced hard-boiled egg?

Any recipe that calls for lemon...you keep saying you can use bottled as well (as fresh lemon)...bottled lemon has quite a higher concentration of acidity. The two are really not interchangeable. Fresh lemon tastes one way and the acidic bottle of bottled lemon taste another way.
Sorry about that and it is indeed a force of habit. But with that said if someone don't have access to fresh lemon and they only have bottle lemon they will have to go by taste and not use so much. Bonita, I enjoy your videos and I decided to get the recipe for the Broccoli salad so I went to your website. I have to say it was very disappointing, so many popups constantly and your recipe is so disjointed with pictures of other advertisements, having to page down so much to get the whole recipe, I gave up. Why would anyone be forced to deal with those ads just to get the recipe, you click them off and they appear again and again.
