Hated it. By far the most dusty, musty, crusty elimination round in Produce/Planet history. Doah, Jia, Jiwon, Reina, Chiayi and Yeyoung deserved better
I hate this new voting system of only one person per group. I wish it was just 3 generally not sub divided. I've to divide my votes between Yujin, Yeseo and Seyeuon, Xiaoting & Suruiqi, Yurina, Shana and Mashiro this is painful
To be fair I was expecting this based on looking at the previous ranking. In no way I agree with, but not surprised and wished more people went by talent and teamwork over popularity. I am curious to see the next ranking. I think seeing how 50% of the ranking is based on the Korean vote will ensure there will be at least 4-5 Koreans. A GOOD explanation why the Chinese and Japanese trainees are doing so well is because China has the largest population size in the world and Japanese is one of the top 10 largest population sizes (Korea is so small compared to them). Makes sense to why there is 50% of the Korean votes. I will be upset if this turns out to be 7 Koreans, 1 Chinese, and 1 Japanese. Oh just heard the last part of your video. Hehe.
From what I hear, no-one in Korea is actually watching the show. The rating of the show is always below 1% (the highest was 0.8% or something), and most of Koreans don't even know who's on the show and quite frankly, they just couldn't care less about the upcoming new girl group or the show itself. I also hear that the people who's actually voting in Korea are mostly the Chinese people who's living in Korea at the moment - if you are voting in Korea, it still counts as K vote - regardless of who you are. I think that is the most likely reason why Shen Xiaoting got no. 1 votes in Korea, and there's only two K girls on top 9 - Koreans just don't care. This could become a bigger problem than many international fans might think, because in order to be a successful new K pop girl group, one needs an initial success within the Korean market first when they debut, but it seems that no-one in Korea will buy the upcoming new girl group's CDs or concert tickets. International fans will welcome the girls with open arms, but in order to achieve a commercial success, vast Korean fan base is essential. But this show is seriously lacking that.
This show is main vocalists’ hell. I still can't get over the fact that we put all of them together in the same team and we still ended up with just two left. tho I feel especially sad for Jiwon and Hyerim, not only they're perfect for any group (all-rounders with versatility) but they both got the benefits (and a lot of praise) in both missions and it did nothing for them.

Same, but mostly for Jia.. at lease Doah and Jiwon have groups to return to (hopefully the recognition they received on the show carries over to their groups)

I kinda hated how we had to wait another week for the other team’s performance i bet if all the performances were aired in a single episode and wasn’t in two, Jia, Doah and Jiwon would have gathered enough votes to survive, but since the episode of their performances was near the end of voting they couldn’t gain more votes.
i literally cannot believe jiwon didn't make it- she was so talented and pretty, she had good vocals, dance, and visuals. im so surprised she didn't get more votes and doah too
@@Marko50000 I feel like having some of them air in episode 6 had a lot better chance of passing compared to the ones who aired on episode 7 and it was strange because ALL of the winning teams were not aired on episode 6 so it kind of defeats the benefits purpose specifically because I think they closed the voting the day after episode 7 right? If so that is very sus. Jiwon was so good. :/
It's cuz the Mafia in the morning performance was aired 1 day before the voting closed 😞😞 Fu yaning and jiwon would've gotten so much more votes if the performance had aired on the 6th episode Also I feel like jiwon should've gotten the planet pass instead of suyeon 😭😭
KIM HYERIM an all-rounder main vocalist with great leadership skills gone just like that, if it was up to me I would have planet passed her all the way to the debuting group cause clearly people don't know how to vote, thank god we still have Bora. This really was the elimination of the main vocalists and yes those planet pass saves were really questionable.
THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING MY GIRL HYERIM, I feel like she was so overlooked, she was such a good leader and her vocals were amazing and i can't believe she got no screen time during the elimination round. Imma be blunt when I say Bora is the only main vocalist left, no one else is even close, and there are only like 2 lead vocalists. Im so disappointed i would drop the show but I stay for Bora and Shana :'(
but again bora is danger she ranked 21 overall now. and only top 17 will go through. she's the only main vocalist left after ziyin left due to health reasons
There just isn’t the voting power for the people who are actually looking for a balanced group. The group as of now is looking like a bunch of center positions and maybe a couple of decent vocalist.
I hope in the future they will make survival show but the trainee will be divided into some position. Like they can apply for vocal, dance, rap or center. So the debut line up will balance, and the competition will balance too

I feel like this time the focus was on star quality. I know that’s what I look for, in contrast to literally this whole comment section. The show is even like “just pick your favorite.”
Episode 8 was painfully shocking. So unhappy to see Doah, Jia, and Reina going home. The first elimination took out many talented girls (Sein, Seunguen, etc.) before they really got to prove themselves. This second vote is painful because many of these people HAVE proved why they need to stay and were still taken out. Like Reina CARRIED the Missing You performance with her highnotes and this is what she got for it. Jia did excellent in Kick It, HYLT, and Salute and we are still losing her. Doah's killing part in YoY is still one of my favorite parts of that performance and she has consistently had excellent aura and energy on stage and yet she's being sent home (and no shade to Bahiyyih but I definitely do not feel like she deserved to stay longer than Doah did). There are still many talented girls left but man did this voting round hurt and the planet passes were poorly given out imo
Doah had two shots and you guys failed her both times. There skill levels are around the same, so why are you surprised that Bahiyyih got through. It's your faults not ours.
this is the second survival show for doah, doah won benifits, doah was one ranked above bahiyyih, it’s not about bahiyyih having more fans, it’s about the fans being so complacent to vote, because some were very confident doah would survive, bahiyyih’s rank went low as well and survived from the edge of the border, won with 8000 more points than doah, this is not bahiyyih’s fault, fan should blame themselves they did not vote harder for doah, because she had more chances of surviving if people worked a bit harder .. people really forgot survival show is about SURVIVING, if you don’t vote, don’t expect your pick to SURVIVE !
I’m actually pretty happy that Kotone got saved because she killed the Pretty U performance and carried the VVS performance, but I also wish that Reina was saved. But at the same time I was hoping for Kotone
I just noticed that Yaning is slowly losing motivation. Like she already knew that her ranking will not get her to debut thats why she's just going with the flow. Yes, she's still giving her all during performances and practices but the Yaning who really works hard, speaks her mind and even voluntered to do this and that, we can rarely see it anymore. Thats why mnet already stop focusing on her because she already drop the drama and just waiting for her time. She also became kinda quiet (even though she still goofy at times) you can really see the difference before and after. Maybe also because the haters already affected her (idk if they have access to social media) but its surely a waste for Yaning and Ruiqi to not be included in the final line up cuz they are hella talented and full of personality.
I agree that’s what I’ve been noticing as well. Especially when applying for the leader part, she didn’t raise her hand anymore. Knowing Yaning, She is a straightforward person and used to speak up but nowadays she’s quiet during practice and just go with the flow
yeah she's a gem like god tier taeyeon level in vocal. and what i dont understand is why xingciao survived she's obviously made a mistake miu is even better and she's in the top 9 too like wth VOTE:TALENT

She wouldn't have debuted as a soloist in China/Japan if she wasn't a great vocalist Btw, love Yeyoung too: She was my main pick in K-group along with Jeongmin and Bora/Jiwon, and Y Dayeon (before elimination ;_;)
the votes for koreans are more spread out because there are so many great trainees who've had lots of screentime, whilst everyone's voting for the same 8-10 japanese & chinese girls (inclusive). so there's no real conspiracy about people preferring the japanese & chinese trainees in the top 10.
To be honest I feel that if mnet would’ve released all the performances at once and not give a whole ass week for the first half of the performances to get votes the elimination would’ve been different. I hope they actually do this for next episode since it’s just like 4 or 5 groups so voting can be fair
I 100% agree. I feel like it was intentional. Not sure why. I think they are trying their best to keep who they want they may not have a chance to stay due to not enough people supporting them. I am confident they know what they are doing. Huge waste of talent this elimination.
Agreed! To be honest, I am not that committed to actually vote in these shows so I wasnt aware of the voting schedule. But upon learning the schedule, i think it was really weird and unfair. But perhaps the show is designed to be manipulated subtly like this to begin with. I don't think there is any other explanation.
Also I have to say that I am an American who has lived in Korea for a few years and I am a university student at a Korean university and it is totally true that Koreans are not voting that much. It seems like this show is just popular because of international viewers. Compared to the Produce series this show hasn't gotten that much advertisement and frankly a lot of Koreans are just not interested. One of my Korean friends told me it's cause there are just so many survival shows in Korea that a lot of Koreans feel sick of watching them. It's not as popular as it used to be.
The ratings for produce started dropping after the 2nd season because people started to feel that it's rigged. Produce 48 wasn't even that popular too like u could just see how IOI and Wanna One did so well compared to Izone but still, it kinda did well. Most people lost interest and stopped supporting after that because of Gaeun and Chawon controversy as they both were hella talented and at the top still Mnet eliminated them. So, the reason this survival show is doing so bad in Korea is also because of what happened and Mnet rigging it. Honestly, now it all depends on the international fanbase.
Kubo Reina in the thumbnail! Yes! She deserved to get more screentime and compliments on the show. She was such a well-rounded, talented contestant who aced every performance of hers
We need Bora to make it. Don’t get me wrong Chaehyun is an amazing vocalist! But I’m not sure if she’s capable enough to be a main vocalist. Then again I could always be wrong, who knows!

@@maude9423 Same thought. Some people on Twitter are pushing Chaehyun as a main vocal material. While she is good, I noticed in Ep. 8 that she is not keen on getting the position. I mean, she rarely volunteered to be a main vocalist and it gives me the impression that she isn't confident for the main vocalist job the way Bora, Reina, Yeyoung and Hyerim were. But I think she is great enough as a lead vocalist.
Hey just to let you know- it wasn’t the judges that chose which songs the girls would do, it was *us* as voters who decided. after episode 6 ended, there was a 24 hour voting period on the universe app where you chose who you wanted to do each song.
I really thought Doah would have made it into the cut off. She was pretty popular at first few episodes, I was so sure she would have made it. I like Jia too, I wonder why she wasn’t given the planet pass.

Youngeun is currently in 16th place I am going to be absolutely devastated if she doesn't debut with Xiaorina after consistently performing well in every performance.

After the voting scandal Mnet promised the viewers that they will never make audition shows again... and they made girls planet 999 with the rules that's 90% same with produce 101. it's really sad that Doah already knows that even if she is a popular contestant in the show, if she gets eliminated everyone will forget about her in few month. She was already a popular contestant in produce48 but nobody supported her after fanatics debuted. it will be the same again. This really was her last chance to succeed as an idol.
I don’t think they promised that they would not make survival show again. If I’m not mistaken, they just stated that they would not continue the produce series, not the survival show in generL. But yeah I might be wrong.
I do not like the wording used in 8:05 to compare Doah and Bahiyyiy. Is there a difference in experience, skill level and confidence? Of course there is. You are comparing a girl with a lot of experience with a girl with minimal training. But both are talented and when I see how much Bahiyyiy improved during the episodes this speaks about the amount of talent she has.
I'm also sad that Reina was eliminated but I'm happy Kotone got the planet pass. While Reina could have been the best main vocalist for the final line up, there are still main vocalist potentials left like Bora, Shana, Mashiro, and Chaehyun. Meanwhile, there is a huge lack of good rappers on the show so it was a good move to give Kotone the planet pass especially that she was ranked 9th, which shows more people support her than Reina and she has a better chance of getting into the lineup.
This i love reina too but kotone is my top pick and she's like my favorite rapper in the show, some notable rappers are manami(shockih tbh she's good), jia and tammy. I kinda like youngeun too but she's an ace and prefer her to sing. Doah and dayeon too. So sad that a lot got eliminated, should have done top 10 at least for KJC

The main vocalist potentials you mentioned have the typical girl group sound (sweet and clear) which is fine but I was so excited to possibly see more refreshing main vocals like reina and hyerim but I guess that hope is now gone :(

Doah's elimination was the most shocking tbh considering how famous she was. Like I was so sure she was going to make it to the finals. I feel like the only reason why she got eliminated was because everyone was so confident she was going to make it. She was my #1 Korean pick, but I voted for my other picks who I felt like where the most in danger, like Bora Jia and Jiwon. If only I knew😭😭😭

For the shoot team, my first thought about the members giving Yujin silence as a response was maybe because they lacked confidence in doing so and was (somewhat) intimidated by her position, and then I came across a comment from another video that made me think for another reason: maybe they were too occupied of the fear of getting eliminated right after, like, they didn't want to expect too much and were constantly overthinking about the elimination round. I do hope they'll do well nonetheless! But still, there are some problems I could see for some of the members. With the high ranking members (KCJ8+), they should've at least taken a role or stepped in to be a candidate for a certain position such as the main vocalist or the killing part. Exposure and screentime are basically the things that will get you up since it is most likely to widen your fanbase internationally and locally. With Yujin taking the role of the leader and the main vocalist, she will surely and easily overshadow everyone despite no intention of doing so. I really hope the best for this team. They still have a huge advantage because the leader herself is in her comfort zone. Keep voting for Yujin!💜 She likes the purple jacket (vest). (+ Or anyone you like!)
I actually feel that Yujin has more of a presence that “blends” a group together, not overshadow it (I hope this makes sense, it’s difficult to explain). She has such a nice personality and is supportive, so if she can make the team feel confident I think she actually can make all girls shine and rise above themselves. As we saw with ICE CREAM, which a large part of the team performed, having a good atmosphere makes for a phenomenal performance. Can you tell that ICE CREAM was my favorite performance of the entire show 😉?
I do think that having the eliminations after having the team formed is really messed up, but that was the same process that happened in Produce lol. I am really worried about who the main vocal will be in the final group (Hopefully Bora🤞🏾). I am shocked that a lot of really talented trainees were eliminated, especially Doah. I do think that even though Jia is a phenomenal performer, she still doesn’t carry enough supporters to be kept in the competition, which is really upsetting because I loved her since the kick it performance. I really happy that Suyeon got saved because she is essential for the final group. Suyeon is an all rounder that can really help the group!! She can sing, rap, dance, compose, and write lyrics. I’m really excited to see what the performances are going to be like next week, but I’m also really worried about how the final line will turn out since a lot of main vocalists are eliminated. Lastly, even though a lot of people think that a K-group trainee will be first, but I have a strong feeling that Xiaoting will be the center for the final group. She is heavily loved by both Korean and international fans, and she really carries herself as a phenomenal performer.
Other fandoms strategy is to just vote Xiaoting and Yurina in C and J, since they're most likely had a higher chance to debut, it's hard for them to go down. And to avoid competition in lower ranks. And maybe, if more fanbases will do this, more Koreans will make it.
I can't believe Ya Ning ranked that low. She's so talented. She has mostly turned it around when it comes to her confrontational attitude since episode one. Proving that she can be a team player and an open-minded leader. Her ideas to make the Itzy song rock harmonized well with Mashiro's leadership and Ji Won's strength as a vocalist. I sincerely hope more people support Ya Ning.
Yes! Definitely. Honestly I never thought she would be my pick but only she impressed the hell outta me from C-group. Others are very overhyped for me tbh.

No so it normal that not everyone is accepting of her apology racism is a very touchy subject and when you mess with it people are not going to easily forgive you for a certain comment or slur you said this is not hard to understand at all so I don’t blame people for not accepting her apology if they felt like it wasn’t genuine
Jiwon's original cell members Chiayi and Moana (who coincidentally met again together in U+Me=LOVE team) also got sent home even though they all won the benefit.
Omg, I didn't realize o: Someone said they may have purposely chosen different categories (I mean Jiwon chose the three member team, Moana six and Chiayi nine) that they could all win and it worked. So they first won together, then met again in the same team, but in the end got eliminated together. Kinda amazing yet sad bcs they deserved to stay. Chiayi and Jiwon were even one of my faves in their groups ;_;
In my opinion, mnet should have given more time to these trainees. I mean there were 99 trainees, so not everyone can shine and i think that is the biggest disadvantage for having 99 trainees. Iland is the great example of fairness. They didn't have sooo many trainees (there were around 21-23 i forgot lol) and every trainee had many chances to shine and gave all of their skills and talents. It is ABSOLUTELY unnecessary to have sooo many trainees just for publicity.
From episode to episode Mnet was giving screen time to the same 8-10 girls, so no wonder that contestants like Reina (had no screen time at all) got eliminated. Mnet - scumbag

They need to realize that this is a survival show and every trainee is working very hard. I just dont get the idea of hating those trainess who survived. I think it's fone to have a lot of trainees, but they should have given more time before eliminations and have more elimination rounds with less eliminated trainees at the time. But I guess they don't want to make more episodes.
im actually worried for the k girls now since there’s no nationality restriction on eliminations. we clearly see how dedicated j and c girls’ fanbases are. i feel like could get pushed out easily w/o mnet intervening somehow.
The strategy for the ones who want their underrated/underappreciated k group to pass the elimination is that they need to vote only the popular/top ranks from the c and j group like Xiaoting and Yurina. So that they can lessen the competition between middle ranks. Yeah it seems childish and all but that’s what they need to do if they desperately want more k group to survive.
K fans think they don't need to care that much because 6 international votes = 1 kr vote. So they think they can relax. Honestly upsetting to see them underestimate intl fan dedication to voting
you know how powerful XiaoRina is? a certain fanbase change their strategy from voting lesser rank trainees to just XiaoRina + their fave. their reasoning is XiaoRina will not move from the top 2 spots.
Honestly Bora is the only main vocalist material left in the show as Ziyin left the show and Jiyoon, Reina, Yeyoung getting eliminated. All the others left are rappers, dancers, and lead vocal materials only. And the three that were saved in planet pass weren't main vocal materials at all as well

There are undeniably a lot of rappers, who can actually RAP, like Dayeon, Hikaru, Xiaoting, Youngeun, Yaning and Kotone, it is just that they are more passionate and confidence towards dancing (while Youngeun and Yaning used the previous chance to showcase their vocal skills), that’s why it seems like they have no solid rapper in the previous combination mission.
Ye Young not getting the Planet Pass hurts. Don't get me wrong, there was many great choices for the K-pick Masters could of chosen from... but since she was one of my picks, I'm super sad she didn't get it.
A lot of my picks were eliminated so I was kind of expecting Jia or Yeyoung to get the planet pass (despite seeing a lot of rumors saying Suyeon got it), but to be honest when the mentors explained why they choose Suyeon it made a lot of sense to me. Sunmi said Suyeon tried different types of concepts throughout the show and proved to adapt to all of them pretty well...so I realized Jia always rooks the stage but we have been constantly seeing the same concept over and over again. Kick it, How You Like That, Salute, Snake...they are all quite similar and didn't prove her versatility. The vocal mentor also mentioned Suyeon being able to stand out in every song despite the amount of lines she gets......Yeyoung made me cry in All about you and i completely agree with all the praises she got from the mentors, but where was she before that mission? she was center in Fiesta team but was completely overshadowed by Mashiro, Sunwoo, and Reina. People didn't talk about her at all before the Creation Mission and even after the KDA performance she didn't stick into people's minds, unfortunately. I thought Doah could get it too but i don't think Mnet would give a pass to someone that has a group already. idk. So that's why i accepted the planet pass now! It looks like Suyeon was kicked out of Snake so I'm curious about what will happen to her now!

I don’t agree with yeyoung being transparent in her kda and fiesta performances. She cought my eyes quickly and was my number one pick since the early episodes she was impressive in all these performances that were also of really different genres. It’s just that every time the focus and screentime was on her teammates. That’s why for me the planet pass should have been given to here, also considering that she is main vocalist material
personally I feel that cai bing was pretty mean and selfish spirited in that episode as well.. really didn’t help build a better image for herself there. It’s upsetting.. I used to vote for her before but I wouldn’t again at least until she shows a better side of herself and a better attitude. Until then I do not support her. Talent is important but so is the personality and attitude of an idol/trainee.
this mission is exactly like how it was for produce 48. the viewers chose who gets what song and the teams were formed prior to elimination and then after the elimination the teams get reshuffled and from next week's teaser seems like who gets moved over to songs with not enough members is based on a team vote just like p48. i thought it would be interesting to note for anyone who didn't watch produce 48
See, this is why I wish they changed the whole produce-like voting and give a percentage to the masters/experts (maybe not these particular judges lol.) If we get a group of everyone’s favorites, there’s almost no guarantee that it will be balanced (such as having no main vocals, members who suit different concepts, teamwork, etc.) We were lucky with IOI, but it makes sense why Mnet had to rig their following groups (aside from them taking bribes from the companies)
I agree. As much as I hate rigging when Mnet pulled Iz*one together they honestly did a good job because they were a well-balanced group. I am worried about this final lineup because from what it looks like we may not be so lucky.

Also reina and yurina both were good at missing you and yurina got in top9 yet reina didnt even pass? They're the real judges and theyre the ones who saw everything even behind cams (yk hm mnet does evil editing) and theyre proffesionals at it.
For the U+Me=LOVE Team, that is the most disturbing thing to see. To know that most of the girls who were suppose to perform with the ones that survived got eliminated. Also there is only 4 members in that group they have a huge disadvantage.

Not just people getting comfortable, you just don’t have the number of votes to do anything about it. Bahiyyih has a set number of votes, which isn’t that much all in all, that’s not the problem. The problem is people are being misled into voting for popular flashy contestants. The contestants with the fan favorite looks or concept favoring stage presence. So a small number of people really looking at vocal/dance/rap skills are doing their best to vote up the contestants that would better carry a group. That’s why, despite not having a great performance, a lot of the ‘The Eve’ performers, all-rounders, are still there and ranking well, even though we can all see that they needed better balance within the group. Too many people picked a favorite all rounder and have stuck to voting for them and their amount of screen time, because they are popular contestants, gives them the floating votes too. It’s sad, but if the other contestants don’t get a fair opportunity to show off their skills and have them judged in their best field instead of against each other for screen time, we are going to end up with a lot of center position members > balanced group.
@@Avi.joyyy12 not really? Doah isn't among the best rappers in the show. Her vocals never heard them. Her dancing is average. Everyone said earlier that her expressions were too much during Yes or Yes killing part. Her and Bahiyyih are pretty much at the same level. Most people only started noticing Doah during Salute cuz of the Cai Bing situation not cuz of her performance.

There was someone like yale who has amazing vocals that could have gotten the planet pass. @jielly jam Also she was really good during the stage where she was with Jeongmin, Reina and Yurina. Really surprised me with her rapping, but mostly vocals! And the reason why she got the pass was that she has the presence/visual of an idol which I agree with. However, I would have preferred them to save the other candidate (Cheukying, who was also part of that vocal stage) or preferably Ya Le.
I actually appreciate that the judges praised kotone's rap abilities by giving her a planet pass, she definitely improved a lot and her team had struggled the most in the last mission (plus the fact that she shaded mnet for not giving enough screen time in a korean rap written by her) but i do agree that reina was robbed. Huening Bahiyyih ranking definitely bothers me, i think she has time and popularity to improve and debut in a company but at this point she haven't show enough for being almost a finalist in Girls Planet, I think she's an average vocalist and dancer but lacks confidence and charisma. I mean, it's not like she's untalented or so but some other girls that really have amazing skills were done dirty (jiwon, do ah, jeongmin, jia etc). I do not agree with the backlash she's been getting btw
so sad for the main vocals. kim bora is the only one left standing after ziyin withdrew but once again on the verge of being eliminated as she currently ranked #21, only top 17 will continue. Chaeyun and Shana are good vocalists, but there is a difference between main vocal and lead vocal.
After years of hearing int’l fans criticized Knetz for voting visual over talent in the Produce series, I’m gonna call out int’l fans for doing the same exact thing with Yurina, keeping her #1 despite not being in the top 20 in talent. She is beautiful though - and I’m fine with her making the final group as a top visual. I’m just calling out the hypocrisy.
i agree. Having an aura and visuals is not enough to rank 1 and 2. I hope she can prove herself worthy of these ranks next week. My J group pick is still Shana!
5:40 i am so excited for next ep mostly because of the situation yujin is in. like its her first time being a main vocalist and leading a team, so i really want her to do well and even if she doesn't win i hope she can gain the confidence to improve her vocal ability. best scenario is if she wins and if she does im gonna be so hyped up when it happens.
There is something wrong with the voting process when so many on winning teams seem not to be rewarded for actually winning their competition. I thought this in round 1 as well. I realize this is essentially a popularity and not a talent contest and I know they're not all going to get in because of limited spots. but just heart breaking that good work seems not to be rewarded....
2:23 pretty sure every season so far has done it this way. They go to their group, practice a few days, a bunch get eliminated, any groups that ended up having more members than the song required would vote the appropriate amount of members out of the group and they would go to a group that had fewer than the required amount.
I think they're just using bahiyyih to get more attention because we barely even see her existence on the show because they don't give her enough screentime like other trainees that's why many people is doubting her skills. When they're dropping teasers and thumbnail she's always there but can't get enough screentime on the actual show. Mnet u ok?

I said this on the server too, but a lot of Koreans do not support this survival show, because it has Chinese contestants in it that made anti-America or anti South-Korea comments on their socials in their past and they also don't support mnet anymore after they rigged Produce 101. This is why Koreans are CHOOSING not to support the program and give it any attention. This is South-Korea rejecting mnet's choices of choosing to rig their survivals and go with Chinese contestants now as well. They're done. For this reason I am scared for the final group that will come out of this and they'll likely not be as big/loved as IZ*ONE nationally. So all the hope comes down to international fans to purchase their albums.

Not the first time Mnet has made contestants practice a song they’ll never perform. This happened in I-land when Taki was eliminated and Sunghoon had to be pulled from Flame On to Chamber 5. Also, we voted for which girl should be in which song, so idk why that’s surprising.

I think we're too far along to not have Xiao Ting and Yurina in the final group, unless Mnet does some Gaeun levels of last minute rigging, which won't happen this season.
Some people forget that getting a lot of the gps attention is also a talent. The most popular members are mostly not the ones who are the best vocalists or rappers…
The reason why there are more trainees from the J and C group in the top9 is because the votes for the koreans are being split up way too much. The Japanese and Chinese contestants shown since the beginning of the program are the same 3. on the other hand the number of talented korean trainees is much higher. If there wasn't the obligation to vote for 3 trainees for each group the koreans would definetely be higher and we would still have Jia, Doah and Yeyoung
I feel like heuning bahiyyih has ALOT of potential and talent. but she lacks confidence which is pretty sad to see. because if she had a little more confidence she could have been the main vocalist of the fiesta team 2. her vocals very stable and her body control as she dances as well. but if she doesn't step up her game and gain confidence she might lose alot of fans and support
I really hope Myah will be a part of the finale line up, we need also cute trainee not only badass, she has good facials expressions, she's a good rapper and can be a lead rapper, shes fit the visual position, shes a really good dancer, she's the baby of sunmi

The masters are literally so terrible at giving planet passes. I'm pretty sure they're only saving who the Mnet producers want them to save. Like no "professional veterans in the industry" are going to refuse the chance to save the most talented/famous trainees like Xia Yan, You Dayeon, Doah and Reina. Sh*t is just not adding up. They keep saving the girls that we *know* are never going to make it anyways (aside from Suyeon I guess). I bet the producers prevented them from saving trainees like Xia Yan and Doah because those girls posed the most threat to the lineup they wanted from the start🙄
I hope this wasn’t meant to be worded the way it was- all the contestants in the show are hardworking are really good. They all deserve it, some just seemed better on stage than others

Have you guys never watched produce? I've watched everyone comment on this so astounded and confused by the structure when this is exactly identical to Produce's structure. It's called the concept eval and it's been verbatim like this for all 4 seasons??

i really didn't want to judge cai bing. But it was dissappointing as she was one of my picks before(ofc she doesn't owe me anything tho lol). But the thing is, cai bing let dayeon lead not because she thought she was suitable, but because the members didn't like her. After dayeon officially became the leader, she said something along the lines of "i'm upset no one wants me as a leader" its natural to be upset but i felt like she didn't get the point why her members didn't want her to lead? I feel like if she understood why she is bad at leading i would've understood her more but it wasn't really the case based on her statements. I really doubt mistranslation for now because moka and jia also spoke up. To be a leader, you need to be understanding. She didn't really exemplify that yet she kept insisting on being a leader. Gurl really needs to read the room, like A LOT.
I never really saw what the hype was about Doah. She never really stood out to me at all. Even in Produce 48. Her skills IMO aren’t that well developed. Her stage presence was okay but never outstanding. Although I think she should’ve stayed instead of Bahiyyih, it wasn’t something that I was angry over.
To me Doah has this natural swagger that I rarely see in the existing pool of contestants, she’s just effortlessly cool and charismatic, not to mention that her rapping is great (if you haven’t seen her rap then please refrain from criticizing) and is an all around great performer. Doah’s visuals are also very interesting to look at, definitely not the conventional beauty, but more doll-like with her pouty lips, toothy grin and big and animated eyes. I think the highlight of it all is her personality, she’s not a people pleaser, would always speak up when the time calls for it, is very independent with her thought process and is creative ( you can see this from her quirky performance at PD 48, I still couldn’t forget about it till this day), and I guess I also love that she never appears to be desperate, which may be to her detriment, cause she rarely gets the center position, and thus any screen time. I can go on and on about what I love about Doah lol but I guess that I’ll stop here. Doah is awesome really, a great leader material too.
After the third elimination, ONLY 1 Planet Pass will be given to one of the eliminated contestants. Also, please save Kim Bora. We need a main vocalist.

I have a theory about the whole Cai Bing drama: I don’t doubt that she is a bad leader due to the comments of the girls and the overall frustration from everyone but I don’t think that equates to being a bad person. Anyways. Mnet probs noticed how the ratio of top 9 is 3:4:2 with K group only having two trainees. I think the reason they’re really aggressively pushing the villain narrative for her is to kick her out of top nine since Cai Bing is ranked in 8th making her the first viable non Korean trainee to be able to kick out from the ranks. I’m honestly not a big fan of Cai Bing since I personally feel like she hasn’t shown much growth and flexibility in concept in general but she has a big fan base and it wouldn’t make sense for them to shower her in so much love and attention and then suddenly make sure to pinpoint all her mistakes, idk just a theory ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cai Bing got into top9 because she had a lot of fans she only lost fans after ep7 and voting was already closed that time she probably wont be in the top9 anymore after what happened
Im still trying to understand it. Out of all the top 9, im really not getting why Cai Bing is still there and what does she offer other than being a decent dancer. The next round will probably change this
this is coming from the perspective of someone who has experienced being an audience for survival shows in Korea in the past but after the vote rigging controversy with produce, less and less people are interested in audition shows. not to mention they’re a dime a dozen, almost every network has at least one competition program... along with the fact that idol groups that are also a dime a dozen nowadays and multi-stans are not looked upon favourably in the k-stan community due to the fact that big group stans (when there were live audiences for shows) used smaller groups to get in the shows and see the group they actually liked. also do note that it can also be attributed to the fact that mnet / tvn is a paid network in Korea, and not a cable network so not everyone has access to it (especially those who live in share homes or gosiwons) therefore not everyone is exposed to the show
just my two cents on why the k-votes and international votes have such a huge disparity. koreans also only have one number to vote from, they can’t buy cheap SIM cards to use to vote multiple times
dude most of the people in these comments are clearly not used to the produce series, y'all wouldn't have survived all the ACTUAL injustices in past produces. Gp999 is actually pretty balanced in terms of talent and potential to be in the final lineup, compared to the other produce when there was an obvious gap between participants' talent and many amazing vocals/rappers were wiped out to leave just the dancers who can sing and MAYBE rap. It's been like that always. Plus the one thing I really hate is how 50% of the votes are korean and the rest of the world 50% specially since 2/3 of the participants are from Japan and China, rather than having the votes be 50% Korea, Japan and China and the rest international. I will never trust Knetz judgment lol.

For now, the plot twist that we can expect is Caibing gets eliminated or at least out of the top 9. Other than that, it is probably because Mnet rigs the votes like how they always do before. Except if there is one or two girls who get the sudden spotlight because of the angel editing or the concept song fits them SO much to the point the voters are willing to change their picks. I’m also sure Mnet change the voting system to be 1 from each group so that there will be some changes.
@@suniel4610 it was but i was pretty shocked by the ranking. like sunoo heeseung and sunghoon were always in the top 3 when fans voted and heeseung was 5th sunghoon 6th and sunoo wasn't even 7th. I honestly didn't think the judges would need to choose between K and Sunoo. the lineup was predictable but niki and jake ranking pretty high was surprising. But yeah i already predicted that jay, jungwon, hee, sunghoon, sunoo at least would be in the group and that they would pick jake to save
I feel like since only the audience is determining who moves on and the performances are so dance heavy, the vocalist barely get any time to shine and I’m afraid the final lineup will lack any strong vocalist let alone any main vocalists at all

This part of the show always had viewers vote for the songs they wanted a particular trainee to be in for only 24 hours. This is the same case in P48 and PX101. I don't think you actually actively voted cos if you did, you would see the voting for the songs in the universe app right after episode 7. The part with Cai Bing, even though Salute team reconciled in the end, it didn't mean Cai Bing was a good leader. The trainees who objected to her were members of the Salute team so that says a lot.
That’s exactly how I felt when mnet made them practice the songs for days and that was really a waste of their time. But They’re just doing what happened in pd101 so gp999 is basically pd101 season 5 but mnet didn’t want the heat so they changed the name.
I still can't process that PEOPLE chose yurina over reina? When reina was the one who carried the whole performance? Yurina can't dance as good as let's say Hikaru neither can she sing good. She's just here for sitting and looking pretty 🙃🖐️💜.
I don't think Yurina is just there to sit and look pretty, she is talented but I agree that everything she's done is underwhelming in comparison to Hikaru, Reina and other J contestants.

I think Yurina has the idol aura, and that's a fact. She might not be the most talented trainee out there, but she has something in her. She's a decent vocalist and not a bad dancer. She'll improve for sure but I agree I would prefer Reina to be there.... Reina is a Main Vocalist, a Lead Dancer and a truly performer. I was voting for her since the first day because I fell in love with her Gogobebe performance... The way she danced? She was enjoying herself and enjoying the stage, there are very few performers that know how to make you see that.

After looking at the excel sheet of the votes from knets vs international, I came to the shocking realisation that the top 9 would've been slightly different if only Koreans could vote like in Produce. 1: Xiaoting 2: Yurina 3: Mashiro 4: Hikaru 5: Xingqiao 6: Dayeon 7: Yujin 8: Chaehyun 9: Ririka No Ruiqi in the top 9, and Ririka actually made it through? Also, Bahhiyyih being 24th out of 27 (cause the planet passes aren't in the sheet) shows that international fans can only get you so far... Really wanna know what Suyeon's Korean votes were like, after she got so much backlash for being a feminist, which is seen as an even worse thing than racist in Korea (and Yaning also got very few Korean votes, I predict Suyeon also got very little)

I hate this new voting system of only one person per group. I wish it was just 3 generally not sub divided. I've to divide my votes between Yujin, Yeseo and Seyeuon, Xiaoting & Suruiqi, Yurina, Shana and Mashiro this is painful
To be fair I was expecting this based on looking at the previous ranking. In no way I agree with, but not surprised and wished more people went by talent and teamwork over popularity. I am curious to see the next ranking. I think seeing how 50% of the ranking is based on the Korean vote will ensure there will be at least 4-5 Koreans. A GOOD explanation why the Chinese and Japanese trainees are doing so well is because China has the largest population size in the world and Japanese is one of the top 10 largest population sizes (Korea is so small compared to them). Makes sense to why there is 50% of the Korean votes. I will be upset if this turns out to be 7 Koreans, 1 Chinese, and 1 Japanese. Oh just heard the last part of your video. Hehe.
From what I hear, no-one in Korea is actually watching the show. The rating of the show is always below 1% (the highest was 0.8% or something), and most of Koreans don't even know who's on the show and quite frankly, they just couldn't care less about the upcoming new girl group or the show itself.
I also hear that the people who's actually voting in Korea are mostly the Chinese people who's living in Korea at the moment - if you are voting in Korea, it still counts as K vote - regardless of who you are. I think that is the most likely reason why Shen Xiaoting got no. 1 votes in Korea, and there's only two K girls on top 9 - Koreans just don't care.
This could become a bigger problem than many international fans might think, because in order to be a successful new K pop girl group, one needs an initial success within the Korean market first when they debut, but it seems that no-one in Korea will buy the upcoming new girl group's CDs or concert tickets. International fans will welcome the girls with open arms, but in order to achieve a commercial success, vast Korean fan base is essential. But this show is seriously lacking that.
This show is main vocalists’ hell. I still can't get over the fact that we put all of them together in the same team and we still ended up with just two left. tho I feel especially sad for Jiwon and Hyerim, not only they're perfect for any group (all-rounders with versatility) but they both got the benefits (and a lot of praise) in both missions and it did nothing for them.
final lineup is in desperate need of Shana and Bora and Yongeun and current rank 2 and 7 gotta go cuz they never stood out to me, they just visuals :(

I kinda hated how we had to wait another week for the other team’s performance i bet if all the performances were aired in a single episode and wasn’t in two, Jia, Doah and Jiwon would have gathered enough votes to survive, but since the episode of their performances was near the end of voting they couldn’t gain more votes.

There just isn’t the voting power for the people who are actually looking for a balanced group. The group as of now is looking like a bunch of center positions and maybe a couple of decent vocalist.
I hope in the future they will make survival show but the trainee will be divided into some position. Like they can apply for vocal, dance, rap or center. So the debut line up will balance, and the competition will balance too

I feel like this time the focus was on star quality. I know that’s what I look for, in contrast to literally this whole comment section. The show is even like “just pick your favorite.”
Episode 8 was painfully shocking. So unhappy to see Doah, Jia, and Reina going home. The first elimination took out many talented girls (Sein, Seunguen, etc.) before they really got to prove themselves. This second vote is painful because many of these people HAVE proved why they need to stay and were still taken out. Like Reina CARRIED the Missing You performance with her highnotes and this is what she got for it. Jia did excellent in Kick It, HYLT, and Salute and we are still losing her. Doah's killing part in YoY is still one of my favorite parts of that performance and she has consistently had excellent aura and energy on stage and yet she's being sent home (and no shade to Bahiyyih but I definitely do not feel like she deserved to stay longer than Doah did). There are still many talented girls left but man did this voting round hurt and the planet passes were poorly given out imo

I just noticed that Yaning is slowly losing motivation. Like she already knew that her ranking will not get her to debut thats why she's just going with the flow. Yes, she's still giving her all during performances and practices but the Yaning who really works hard, speaks her mind and even voluntered to do this and that, we can rarely see it anymore. Thats why mnet already stop focusing on her because she already drop the drama and just waiting for her time. She also became kinda quiet (even though she still goofy at times) you can really see the difference before and after. Maybe also because the haters already affected her (idk if they have access to social media) but its surely a waste for Yaning and Ruiqi to not be included in the final line up cuz they are hella talented and full of personality.
I agree that’s what I’ve been noticing as well. Especially when applying for the leader part, she didn’t raise her hand anymore. Knowing Yaning, She is a straightforward person and used to speak up but nowadays she’s quiet during practice and just go with the flow

the votes for koreans are more spread out because there are so many great trainees who've had lots of screentime, whilst everyone's voting for the same 8-10 japanese & chinese girls (inclusive). so there's no real conspiracy about people preferring the japanese & chinese trainees in the top 10.
To be honest I feel that if mnet would’ve released all the performances at once and not give a whole ass week for the first half of the performances to get votes the elimination would’ve been different. I hope they actually do this for next episode since it’s just like 4 or 5 groups so voting can be fair

Agreed! To be honest, I am not that committed to actually vote in these shows so I wasnt aware of the voting schedule. But upon learning the schedule, i think it was really weird and unfair. But perhaps the show is designed to be manipulated subtly like this to begin with. I don't think there is any other explanation.

Also I have to say that I am an American who has lived in Korea for a few years and I am a university student at a Korean university and it is totally true that Koreans are not voting that much. It seems like this show is just popular because of international viewers. Compared to the Produce series this show hasn't gotten that much advertisement and frankly a lot of Koreans are just not interested. One of my Korean friends told me it's cause there are just so many survival shows in Korea that a lot of Koreans feel sick of watching them. It's not as popular as it used to be.
The ratings for produce started dropping after the 2nd season because people started to feel that it's rigged. Produce 48 wasn't even that popular too like u could just see how IOI and Wanna One did so well compared to Izone but still, it kinda did well. Most people lost interest and stopped supporting after that because of Gaeun and Chawon controversy as they both were hella talented and at the top still Mnet eliminated them. So, the reason this survival show is doing so bad in Korea is also because of what happened and Mnet rigging it. Honestly, now it all depends on the international fanbase.

But I think she is great enough as a lead vocalist.

After the voting scandal Mnet promised the viewers that they will never make audition shows again... and they made girls planet 999 with the rules that's 90% same with produce 101. it's really sad that Doah already knows that even if she is a popular contestant in the show, if she gets eliminated everyone will forget about her in few month. She was already a popular contestant in produce48 but nobody supported her after fanatics debuted. it will be the same again. This really was her last chance to succeed as an idol.
I don’t think they promised that they would not make survival show again. If I’m not mistaken, they just stated that they would not continue the produce series, not the survival show in generL. But yeah I might be wrong.
I do not like the wording used in 8:05 to compare Doah and Bahiyyiy. Is there a difference in experience, skill level and confidence? Of course there is. You are comparing a girl with a lot of experience with a girl with minimal training. But both are talented and when I see how much Bahiyyiy improved during the episodes this speaks about the amount of talent she has.
I'm also sad that Reina was eliminated but I'm happy Kotone got the planet pass. While Reina could have been the best main vocalist for the final line up, there are still main vocalist potentials left like Bora, Shana, Mashiro, and Chaehyun. Meanwhile, there is a huge lack of good rappers on the show so it was a good move to give Kotone the planet pass especially that she was ranked 9th, which shows more people support her than Reina and she has a better chance of getting into the lineup.

The main vocalist potentials you mentioned have the typical girl group sound (sweet and clear) which is fine but I was so excited to possibly see more refreshing main vocals like reina and hyerim but I guess that hope is now gone :(

Doah's elimination was the most shocking tbh considering how famous she was. Like I was so sure she was going to make it to the finals. For the shoot team, my first thought about the members giving Yujin silence as a response was maybe because they lacked confidence in doing so and was (somewhat) intimidated by her position, and then I came across a comment from another video that made me think for another reason: maybe they were too occupied of the fear of getting eliminated right after, like, they didn't want to expect too much and were constantly overthinking about the elimination round.
I do hope they'll do well nonetheless! But still, there are some problems I could see for some of the members. With the high ranking members (KCJ8+), they should've at least taken a role or stepped in to be a candidate for a certain position such as the main vocalist or the killing part. Exposure and screentime are basically the things that will get you up since it is most likely to widen your fanbase internationally and locally.
With Yujin taking the role of the leader and the main vocalist, she will surely and easily overshadow everyone despite no intention of doing so.
I really hope the best for this team. They still have a huge advantage because the leader herself is in her comfort zone.

I actually feel that Yujin has more of a presence that “blends” a group together, not overshadow it (I hope this makes sense, it’s difficult to explain). She has such a nice personality and is supportive, so if she can make the team feel confident I think she actually can make all girls shine and rise above themselves. As we saw with ICE CREAM, which a large part of the team performed, having a good atmosphere makes for a phenomenal performance. Can you tell that ICE CREAM was my favorite performance of the entire show 😉?
I do think that having the eliminations after having the team formed is really messed up, but that was the same process that happened in Produce lol. I am really worried about who the main vocal will be in the final group (Hopefully Bora🤞🏾). I am shocked that a lot of really talented trainees were eliminated, especially Doah. I do think that even though Jia is a phenomenal performer, she still doesn’t carry enough supporters to be kept in the competition, which is really upsetting because I loved her since the kick it performance. I really happy that Suyeon got saved because she is essential for the final group. Suyeon is an all rounder that can really help the group!! She can sing, rap, dance, compose, and write lyrics. I’m really excited to see what the performances are going to be like next week, but I’m also really worried about how the final line will turn out since a lot of main vocalists are eliminated. Lastly, even though a lot of people think that a K-group trainee will be first, but I have a strong feeling that Xiaoting will be the center for the final group. She is heavily loved by both Korean and international fans, and she really carries herself as a phenomenal performer.
Other fandoms strategy is to just vote Xiaoting and Yurina in C and J, since they're most likely had a higher chance to debut, it's hard for them to go down. And to avoid competition in lower ranks. And maybe, if more fanbases will do this, more Koreans will make it.
I can't believe Ya Ning ranked that low. She's so talented. She has mostly turned it around when it comes to her confrontational attitude since episode one. Proving that she can be a team player and an open-minded leader. Her ideas to make the Itzy song rock harmonized well with Mashiro's leadership and Ji Won's strength as a vocalist. I sincerely hope more people support Ya Ning.

Jiwon's original cell members Chiayi and Moana (who coincidentally met again together in U+Me=LOVE team) also got sent home even though they all won the benefit.
Omg, I didn't realize o: Someone said they may have purposely chosen different categories (I mean Jiwon chose the three member team, Moana six and Chiayi nine) that they could all win and it worked. So they first won together, then met again in the same team, but in the end got eliminated together. Kinda amazing yet sad bcs they deserved to stay. Chiayi and Jiwon were even one of my faves in their groups ;_;
In my opinion, mnet should have given more time to these trainees. I mean there were 99 trainees, so not everyone can shine and i think that is the biggest disadvantage for having 99 trainees. Iland is the great example of fairness. They didn't have sooo many trainees (there were around 21-23 i forgot lol) and every trainee had many chances to shine and gave all of their skills and talents. It is ABSOLUTELY unnecessary to have sooo many trainees just for publicity.
The existence of Mnet itself is unnecessary, what more can we expect.
From episode to episode Mnet was giving screen time to the same 8-10 girls, so no wonder that contestants like Reina (had no screen time at all) got eliminated. Mnet - scumbag

im actually worried for the k girls now since there’s no nationality restriction on eliminations. we clearly see how dedicated j and c girls’ fanbases are. i feel like could get pushed out easily w/o mnet intervening somehow.
The strategy for the ones who want their underrated/underappreciated k group to pass the elimination is that they need to vote only the popular/top ranks from the c and j group like Xiaoting and Yurina. So that they can lessen the competition between middle ranks. Yeah it seems childish and all but that’s what they need to do if they desperately want more k group to survive.

Honestly Bora is the only main vocalist material left in the show as Ziyin left the show and Jiyoon, Reina, Yeyoung getting eliminated. All the others left are rappers, dancers, and lead vocal materials only. And the three that were saved in planet pass weren't main vocal materials at all as well

Seriously, Reina is experienced and went though a lot. She is one of the best all rounder in the show
A lot of my picks were eliminated so I was kind of expecting Jia or Yeyoung to get the planet pass (despite seeing a lot of rumors saying Suyeon got it), but to be honest when the mentors explained why they choose Suyeon it made a lot of sense to me.
Sunmi said Suyeon tried different types of concepts throughout the show and proved to adapt to all of them pretty well...so I realized Jia always rooks the stage but we have been constantly seeing the same concept over and over again. Kick it, How You Like That, Salute, Snake...they are all quite similar and didn't prove her versatility.
The vocal mentor also mentioned Suyeon being able to stand out in every song despite the amount of lines she gets......Yeyoung made me cry in All about you and i completely agree with all the praises she got from the mentors, but where was she before that mission? she was center in Fiesta team but was completely overshadowed by Mashiro, Sunwoo, and Reina. People didn't talk about her at all before the Creation Mission and even after the KDA performance she didn't stick into people's minds, unfortunately.
I thought Doah could get it too but i don't think Mnet would give a pass to someone that has a group already. idk.

I don’t agree with yeyoung being transparent in her kda and fiesta performances. She cought my eyes quickly and was my number one pick since the early episodes she was impressive in all these performances that were also of really different genres. It’s just that every time the focus and screentime was on her teammates. That’s why for me the planet pass should have been given to here, also considering that she is main vocalist material
personally I feel that cai bing was pretty mean and selfish spirited in that episode as well.. really didn’t help build a better image for herself there. It’s upsetting.. I used to vote for her before but I wouldn’t again at least until she shows a better side of herself and a better attitude. Until then I do not support her. Talent is important but so is the personality and attitude of an idol/trainee.

See, this is why I wish they changed the whole produce-like voting and give a percentage to the masters/experts (maybe not these particular judges lol.) If we get a group of everyone’s favorites, there’s almost no guarantee that it will be balanced (such as having no main vocals, members who suit different concepts, teamwork, etc.) We were lucky with IOI, but it makes sense why Mnet had to rig their following groups (aside from them taking bribes from the companies)
I agree. As much as I hate rigging when Mnet pulled Iz*one together they honestly did a good job because they were a well-balanced group. I am worried about this final lineup because from what it looks like we may not be so lucky.

For the U+Me=LOVE Team, that is the most disturbing thing to see. To know that most of the girls who were suppose to perform with the ones that survived got eliminated. Also there is only 4 members in that group they have a huge disadvantage.

SAME!!! Even though Bahiyyih is talented, Doah is on a whole different level of talented!!! Not only is she an experienced idol, but she also grabs the audiences attention. I’m really upset that she got eliminated.
Not just people getting comfortable, you just don’t have the number of votes to do anything about it. Bahiyyih has a set number of votes, which isn’t that much all in all, that’s not the problem. The problem is people are being misled into voting for popular flashy contestants. The contestants with the fan favorite looks or concept favoring stage presence. So a small number of people really looking at vocal/dance/rap skills are doing their best to vote up the contestants that would better carry a group. That’s why, despite not having a great performance, a lot of the ‘The Eve’ performers, all-rounders, are still there and ranking well, even though we can all see that they needed better balance within the group. Too many people picked a favorite all rounder and have stuck to voting for them and their amount of screen time, because they are popular contestants, gives them the floating votes too. It’s sad, but if the other contestants don’t get a fair opportunity to show off their skills and have them judged in their best field instead of against each other for screen time, we are going to end up with a lot of center position members > balanced group.

@jielly jam Also she was really good during the stage where she was with Jeongmin, Reina and Yurina. Really surprised me with her rapping, but mostly vocals! And the reason why she got the pass was that she has the presence/visual of an idol which I agree with. However, I would have preferred them to save the other candidate (Cheukying, who was also part of that vocal stage) or preferably Ya Le.
I actually appreciate that the judges praised kotone's rap abilities by giving her a planet pass, she definitely improved a lot and her team had struggled the most in the last mission (plus the fact that she shaded mnet for not giving enough screen time in a korean rap written by her) but i do agree that reina was robbed. Huening Bahiyyih ranking definitely bothers me, i think she has time and popularity to improve and debut in a company but at this point she haven't show enough for being almost a finalist in Girls Planet, I think she's an average vocalist and dancer but lacks confidence and charisma. I mean, it's not like she's untalented or so but some other girls that really have amazing skills were done dirty (jiwon, do ah, jeongmin, jia etc). I do not agree with the backlash she's been getting btw

After years of hearing int’l fans criticized Knetz for voting visual over talent in the Produce series, I’m gonna call out int’l fans for doing the same exact thing with Yurina, keeping her #1 despite not being in the top 20 in talent. She is beautiful though - and I’m fine with her making the final group as a top visual. I’m just calling out the hypocrisy.

There is something wrong with the voting process when so many on winning teams seem not to be rewarded for actually winning their competition. I thought this in round 1 as well. I realize this is essentially a popularity and not a talent contest and I know they're not all going to get in because of limited spots. but just heart breaking that good work seems not to be rewarded....
2:23 pretty sure every season so far has done it this way. They go to their group, practice a few days, a bunch get eliminated, any groups that ended up having more members than the song required would vote the appropriate amount of members out of the group and they would go to a group that had fewer than the required amount.
I think they're just using bahiyyih to get more attention because we barely even see her existence on the show because they don't give her enough screentime like other trainees that's why many people is doubting her skills. I said this on the server too, but a lot of Koreans do not support this survival show, because it has Chinese contestants in it that made anti-America or anti South-Korea comments on their socials in their past and they also don't support mnet anymore after they rigged Produce 101. This is why Koreans are CHOOSING not to support the program and give it any attention. This is South-Korea rejecting mnet's choices of choosing to rig their survivals and go with Chinese contestants now as well. They're done. For this reason I am scared for the final group that will come out of this and they'll likely not be as big/loved as IZ*ONE nationally. So all the hope comes down to international fans to purchase their albums.

The reason why there are more trainees from the J and C group in the top9 is because the votes for the koreans are being split up way too much. The Japanese and Chinese contestants shown since the beginning of the program are the same 3. on the other hand the number of talented korean trainees is much higher. If there wasn't the obligation to vote for 3 trainees for each group the koreans would definetely be higher and we would still have Jia, Doah and Yeyoung
I feel like heuning bahiyyih has ALOT of potential and talent. but she lacks confidence which is pretty sad to see. because if she had a little more confidence she could have been the main vocalist of the fiesta team 2. her vocals very stable and her body control as she dances as well. but if she doesn't step up her game and gain confidence she might lose alot of fans and support

The masters are literally so terrible at giving planet passes. I'm pretty sure they're only saving who the Mnet producers want them to save. Like no "professional veterans in the industry" are going to refuse the chance to save the most talented/famous trainees like Xia Yan, You Dayeon, Doah and Reina. Sh*t is just not adding up. They keep saving the girls that we *know* are never going to make it anyways (aside from Suyeon I guess). I bet the producers prevented them from saving trainees like Xia Yan and Doah because those girls posed the most threat to the lineup they wanted from the start🙄
I hope this wasn’t meant to be worded the way it was- all the contestants in the show are hardworking are really good. They all deserve it, some just seemed better on stage than others

i really didn't want to judge cai bing. But it was dissappointing as she was one of my picks before(ofc she doesn't owe me anything tho lol). But the thing is, cai bing let dayeon lead not because she thought she was suitable, but because the members didn't like her. After dayeon officially became the leader, she said something along the lines of "i'm upset no one wants me as a leader" its natural to be upset but i felt like she didn't get the point why her members didn't want her to lead? I feel like if she understood why she is bad at leading i would've understood her more but it wasn't really the case based on her statements. I really doubt mistranslation for now because moka and jia also spoke up.
To be a leader, you need to be understanding. She didn't really exemplify that yet she kept insisting on being a leader. Gurl really needs to read the room, like A LOT.
I never really saw what the hype was about Doah. She never really stood out to me at all. Even in Produce 48. Her skills IMO aren’t that well developed. Her stage presence was okay but never outstanding. Although I think she should’ve stayed instead of Bahiyyih, it wasn’t something that I was angry over.
To me Doah has this natural swagger that I rarely see in the existing pool of contestants, she’s just effortlessly cool and charismatic, not to mention that her rapping is great (if you haven’t seen her rap then please refrain from criticizing) and is an all around great performer.
Doah’s visuals are also very interesting to look at, definitely not the conventional beauty, but more doll-like with her pouty lips, toothy grin and big and animated eyes.
I think the highlight of it all is her personality, she’s not a people pleaser, would always speak up when the time calls for it, is very independent with her thought process and is creative ( you can see this from her quirky performance at PD 48, I still couldn’t forget about it till this day), and I guess I also love that she never appears to be desperate, which may be to her detriment, cause she rarely gets the center position, and thus any screen time. I can go on and on about what I love about Doah lol but I guess that I’ll stop here. Doah is awesome really, a great leader material too.

I have a theory about the whole Cai Bing drama: I don’t doubt that she is a bad leader due to the comments of the girls and the overall frustration from everyone but I don’t think that equates to being a bad person. Anyways. Mnet probs noticed how the ratio of top 9 is 3:4:2 with K group only having two trainees. I think the reason they’re really aggressively pushing the villain narrative for her is to kick her out of top nine since Cai Bing is ranked in 8th making her the first viable non Korean trainee to be able to kick out from the ranks. I’m honestly not a big fan of Cai Bing since I personally feel like she hasn’t shown much growth and flexibility in concept in general but she has a big fan base and it wouldn’t make sense for them to shower her in so much love and attention and then suddenly make sure to pinpoint all her mistakes, idk just a theory ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

this is coming from the perspective of someone who has experienced being an audience for survival shows in Korea in the past but after the vote rigging controversy with produce, less and less people are interested in audition shows.
not to mention they’re a dime a dozen, almost every network has at least one competition program... along with the fact that idol groups that are also a dime a dozen nowadays and multi-stans are not looked upon favourably in the k-stan community due to the fact that big group stans (when there were live audiences for shows) used smaller groups to get in the shows and see the group they actually liked.
also do note that it can also be attributed to the fact that mnet / tvn is a paid network in Korea, and not a cable network so not everyone has access to it (especially those who live in share homes or gosiwons) therefore not everyone is exposed to the show
just my two cents on why the k-votes and international votes have such a huge disparity. koreans also only have one number to vote from, they can’t buy cheap SIM cards to use to vote multiple times

dude most of the people in these comments are clearly not used to the produce series, y'all wouldn't have survived all the ACTUAL injustices in past produces. Gp999 is actually pretty balanced in terms of talent and potential to be in the final lineup, compared to the other produce when there was an obvious gap between participants' talent and many amazing vocals/rappers were wiped out to leave just the dancers who can sing and MAYBE rap. It's been like that always. Plus the one thing I really hate is how 50% of the votes are korean and the rest of the world 50% specially since 2/3 of the participants are from Japan and China, rather than having the votes be 50% Korea, Japan and China and the rest international. I will never trust Knetz judgment lol.

@@suniel4610 it was but i was pretty shocked by the ranking. like sunoo heeseung and sunghoon were always in the top 3 when fans voted and heeseung was 5th sunghoon 6th and sunoo wasn't even 7th. I honestly didn't think the judges would need to choose between K and Sunoo. the lineup was predictable but niki and jake ranking pretty high was surprising. But yeah i already predicted that jay, jungwon, hee, sunghoon, sunoo at least would be in the group and that they would pick jake to save
I feel like since only the audience is determining who moves on and the performances are so dance heavy, the vocalist barely get any time to shine and I’m afraid the final lineup will lack any strong vocalist let alone any main vocalists at all

Reina is the Miyu of this show. Among the best vocalists, not the Japanese look the showrunners were looking for, close to zero screen time.

This part of the show always had viewers vote for the songs they wanted a particular trainee to be in for only 24 hours. This is the same case in P48 and PX101. I don't think you actually actively voted cos if you did, you would see the voting for the songs in the universe app right after episode 7.
The part with Cai Bing, even though Salute team reconciled in the end, it didn't mean Cai Bing was a good leader. The trainees who objected to her were members of the Salute team so that says a lot.
That’s exactly how I felt when mnet made them practice the songs for days and that was really a waste of their time. But They’re just doing what happened in pd101 so gp999 is basically pd101 season 5 but mnet didn’t want the heat so they changed the name.
I still can't process that PEOPLE chose yurina over reina? When reina was the one who carried the whole performance? Yurina can't dance as good as let's say Hikaru neither can she sing good. She's just here for sitting and looking pretty 🙃🖐️💜.

I don't think Yurina is just there to sit and look pretty, she is talented but I agree that everything she's done is underwhelming in comparison to Hikaru, Reina and other J contestants.
@@neo.aenergy if we're being honest here, if Mnet didn't give her the whole sob story on how her previous group disbanded, screen time and edited her fancy performance, no one would notice her. She's mediocre in everything.
I think Yurina has the idol aura, and that's a fact. She might not be the most talented trainee out there, but she has something in her. She's a decent vocalist and not a bad dancer. She'll improve for sure but I agree I would prefer Reina to be there.... Reina is a Main Vocalist, a Lead Dancer and a truly performer. I was voting for her since the first day because I fell in love with her Gogobebe performance... The way she danced? She was enjoying herself and enjoying the stage, there are very few performers that know how to make you see that.

Also thanks for that info about knetz low votes, wasn't aware the votes from Korea were THAT low. If this keeps up Yujin (currently 5th) might become the only K member left in the final lineup (the other K trainee is 9th place an could lose her spot to a C or J trainee). And if that happens this looks like they are about to become an international favorite group and might kinda flop in Korea because I don't think Knetz will much support or be interested in a group that has so few K members, it kinda shows uninterest on their part already when they don't vote much. International success might be great though
After looking at the excel sheet of the votes from knets vs international, I came to the shocking realisation that the top 9 would've been slightly different if only Koreans could vote like in Produce.

Really wanna know what Suyeon's Korean votes were like, after she got so much backlash for being a feminist, which is seen as an even worse thing than racist in Korea (and Yaning also got very few Korean votes, I predict Suyeon also got very little)

I hope that the 3rd elimination is 50% mentors votes 25% korean votes and 25% international votes
