- Hi Everyone! Today I am sharing with you how to make some simple cornstarch ornaments to hang on your tree. It's such a fun, easy project that I for sure will be making more of in the future.

Cornstarch Ornament Recipe:
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 cup baking soda
3/4 cup water
Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan and heat over medium low heat, stiring often until mixture thicken. Takes about three minutes. The dough should look like play dough or very thick mashed potatoes.
Remove from heat, transfer to a clean bowl and cover with damp cloth. Let sit for 30 minutes.
Knead lightly, then roll dough out to a 1/4" thickness before cutting shapes with cookie cutters.
Place ornaments on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake at 175 for 50 minutes.
Flip ornaments over, and bake an additional 50 minutes.

This is my fave dough recipe ever. I still have ornaments I made in the 80's from it. Glad you are sharing it.
LittleWillie1000 I was going to ask how strong this dough is, but if you have ornaments from the 80s, that a good testament to their strength
ok
Can u please share the measurements in writing
I'm using this for my baby's first Christmas ornament, I'm using their little foot instead of a cookie cutter :)
Just a random NoName what an excellent idea. Maybe make a few spares ( breakage or grandparents wanting some ) ❤️🇨🇦❤️
That’s a great idea.
Just be careful and keep them in a safe place! 😊 Water will melt them almost instantly unless they're thoroughly sealed!!
Such a beautiful idea
Cute idea!! Congratulations on your little one!!!🤗🤩😊
I've done salt dough and cinnamon dough, but not cornstarch. I like the smooth finish of these! Thank you for the tute.
Just made these and we made extra one's for each of our pets. We stamped their paw prints in them! I'm so excited to decorate and hang them up! Thank you for the amazing tutorial!
These look so much better than salt dough! Making my baby’s handprint ornaments for family members this year. Can’t wait! Thank you!
I have made these for years for classroom Christmas projects
Works every time and we just air dry them versus baking
How much time does it take approximately to air-dry them?
About a day
I do not use a fan, that can cause cracking
Excellent! Finally someone who put the exact easy steps in the notes area with the bake time and oven temp! Thank you!
You could paint them as well or glue some glitter on them.
