Keep in mind that if you replace the climate control bulbs with the LED ones you’ll have to do it with the controls connected and the dash circuit on. Otherwise you can’t get the polarity of the LEDs correct.
In this case, I went with OEM as the form factor is pretty specific, but definitely worth noting anytime changing out incandescent bulbs to LED things like polarity and even resistance/current draw can be a consideration worth tracking
Tried in my 11 element have the same “small metal clips “ but it will not release darn it. Update after using a tad more elbow grease it released! Thanks heaps
@johnthegreen yea sometimes they can be stubborn, there is definitely some finesse required between enough force to remove it vs. Enough force to break it
@jedi_knight_tm I am actually thinking of making the change so I will make a video on it, but in short, source a fuse to tap off that is switched on and off with ignition as the source, or run a relay triggered by an ignition signal
I need to do that to paint that piece by my shifter and my air conditioning knobs. I want to spray paint that piece. Any suggestions on how to paint the circles around the speedometer/gas gages, etc? Thanks!
There is definitely some degree of disassembly... I had been contemplating this myself, but ultimately a good masking job with tape, paper, plastic etc. Then scuff the paint that's on there to get a good surface to adhere to.
@@BILLT_YT it would be one of a kind as far as I can tell. Element stuck in park unless override is pushed. Disassembled as far as I could get and couldn't get close to seeing it, I think I could see the plug for it but it seems like its really buried in the shifter pack.
Added to my Element playlist for things to do this spring / summer
Excellent! Thank you. 👍🏼
Wow, great content. I always wondered how to wire those things and you provided exceptionally. Thank You.
Great, hope it helps, this can easily be done on any vehicle with the right supply voltage

Great video! How do you install it to the ignition as opposed to it always being on? Thanks.

Can you make a video on replacing the shifter interlock solenoid in the center console?
I can look into it, hasn't been an issue for me but if it's not too crazy I can dig into it

Found this video on removing the Center dash cover without removing the radio

Yea, I would love to take a look, may be a bit, since I have a pretty busy travel schedule with work but I'll def keep you posted if I do
