2 great movies to do next would be Bebe's Kids and Who Framed Roger Rabbit😁!!!! They are great classic movies 😮!!! Please I beg you!!!!!
I loved that Shen was practicing his greeting for Po, and Po just says "Hey". You can hear the disdain in Shen's voice when he says "...Hey..."
like when he tells kai chit chat or needed his breathe when he met tai.....po don't mess around vs villains..he is rude to them
polished thesbian meets jack black
@@razkable Spoilers go brrrrrrrrr
True
I didn't read that as disdain, I read it as being thrown completely off his game.
"there's death in this? this is a kid's movie"
movie: literally starts with a genocide
😂
Lol true 😂
Not to mention Tai Lung clearly killed a bunch of prison guards in the first one.

One small detail that I adore is that Po’s father said in the first film that his dream was to make tofu but that he put it aside to run the noodle shop. In the second film he’s running the noodle shop but he’s also selling tofu dishes- Po following his dreams and becoming the dragon warrior inspired his dad to follow his dreams too :)
14:12 Funny story.
"Your dad... the goose?? That... must have been quite a shock."
Angelina Jolie actually broke down laughing for several minutes in the recording booth when she had to say that line. Oh she nailed it and the delivery of it, flawlessly. But she thought it was written so well for such a serious character like Tigress that after that, she had to take a quick break because being all serious to say that one line made her have a fit of giggles. Then she could go back to continue recording the other lines.
I’d legitimately love to hear that laughing fit.
oh my god i love that, makes the scene even funnier knowing this now
Omg
Love Angie ❤️😂
Lol nice 😂
i just realized that Shen's family never had to worry about the stairs because *THEY CAN FLY* so it's such a power move to make their guests climb all those stairs HAHAHA
I never thought about that and now I can't stop thinking about it!! 🤣😂
Shen accepted his death because he knew he had gone too far. I dont believe he truly wanted to continue his "take over the world ploy" he was broken, and he was past the point of no return. Death was his only way out. when he saw his death coming, he accepted it...in a way welcomed it. It was his peace.
"Welp, this might as well happen"
Sad
You can also see him intentionally cutting the ropes that held up the canon with his sword during his last moments fighting Po. He wanted it to fall on him because he wanted a way out
@@thatonegirlyouprobablyhate thats the saddest thing ive read
Shen not being able to hear Po's dramatic re-entrance speech from so far away is probably my favorite joke in the series 😂
Po was too focused on the past. Where he came from, what happened to his parents. He forgot about the family and the home he already had.
And Shen was too focused on the future. His destiny to rule, to be more powerful. He forgot that his family wanted what was best for him.
I’m not downplaying the third movie by any means, but the second movie is definitely the most powerful out of the three 👌❤️
Wait until you see my reaction to the third movie. Or check it out right now on my Patreon
Third just feels way more childish and commercial than the second. It felt like it was there just because it had to be there (Kai being irrelevant as a running gag kind of reflects that). It’s not bad, but definitely doesn’t live up to the standards that the second set up.
The 3rd movie is a huge downgrade in terms of tone. Feels like they were mandated to make it as carefree and Saturday morning cartoonish as possible because the 2nd movie was so dark and intense. It ended up really hurting the experience.
“I know who I am.... I’m your son.” THE WRITERS DIDNT HAVE TO GO THIS HARD
His mama leaving him scene will always make me tear up 🥺✨✨✨
Shen could actually be the warrior of black and white that would stop him. This movie reflects to what oogway said. "One often meets his destiny in the path he takes to avoid it."
Everyone gangsta until Master Shifu joins the battle.
Hahaha yeah
First movie is about the body, this one is about the mind, and then the last one is about the spirit.
That makes so much sense
Yes
I actually wouldn't have blamed her. The parents got wary by their son's actions and asked her to tell of their son's future.
If you want to point the finger Shen CHOSE to massacre an entire village.
Yep. The danger of prophecies isn’t the prophecy itself but how people react to it.
Moses, Voldemort, Oedipus’s father, Cronus, plenty of fictional and nonfictional people tend to bring their downfalls into themselves when they let the power of prophecy get the best of them.
"One often meets his destiny on the road he's taken to avoid it."
You can tell he's a really good dad from how genuinely he reacts to all the parent-child moments in this movie
Hey thanks for noticing that! Im trying to be the best dad I can be
bro these "kids movies" really knows how to play on feelings, like when Po's mother leave him in the basket while crying before giving him a last hug and kiss is one of the most emotional scenes in any of these types of movies i've ever seen. I have the same reaction as you had every time i see it. other than that i really love the kung fu panda franchise, and i hope it's true that there are 3 more movies coming out, but if not, i'm still happy to have seen the trilogy that is out right now. keep up the reactions too man! love these videos
this is one of the most underrated movies ever, I rarely see anyone talk about it but it's my favorite animated movie.
the old goat was actually telling the parents of shen about the black and white warrior, shen wasj just eavesdropping on them hence why he immediately set out to destroy/kill all the pandas(a black and white animal). And shen was actually projecting his family problems to Po, when he thinks that his parents didn't love him cuz they banish him for what he did to the pandas
There's a DreamWorks short called Secrets of the Furious Five, where we get their backstories.
Secrets of the Scroll shows their origin, and how they came together as a team!
What!!! Ok I'm definitely reaching to this. Thanks!
@@JVsGalacticAdventures Make sure you watch "Secrets Of The Five" first! "Secrets of the Scroll" is the sequel to it!
@@JVsGalacticAdventures do you mean reacting you said reaching
@@JVsGalacticAdventures There’s also Secrets of the Masters, which shows the origins of Rhino, Croc, and Ox, and a Holiday Special that builds up Po and Mr. Ping’s relationship (which at the time when only the first movie was out, I think was really needed)
Did he ever end up doing a video on these?
The first time I watched this I wasn't expecting to feel so many emotions from this and yet the part with Po discovering what really happened to him left me in tears. Who says cartoon movies can't have solid stories? Awesome movie trilogy.
This is why i hate the 'its just a kids movie' augment as a way to dismiss any legitimate criticism.
Kids movies can be and should be just as well written as the great movies intended for adults.
Its an augment i found people use because they dont have a constructive counter to the criticism.
@@shadowphoenix1696It feels like it's kind of a double edge to sort argument. When people complain something for is too childish in an animated movie and yet they complain when something that's animated is too mature for kids. What do people want
I like how, in that first fight sequence in the Village of Musicians, Po is literally living out the dream sequence that started the first movie. He's made it. This movie is about him taking the next step in his journey.
So if you watch the beginning part again, you'll see that it was Shen's parents who asked for the Soothsayer to tell his fortune, and Shen was listening from the shadows. It's an easy detail to miss!
Shen, in my opinion, is just the best villian ever. I felt bad for him instead and man theres a lot of stuff I wanted to say but all I could say is that he's just the best villain ive seen
Monkey was a thief
Crane was a cleaning boy
Viper didn't have fings or venom
Tigeress was a rough and powerful orphan nobody likes to hang out
The true meaning of the movie:
It's all about the radishes.
"there's death in this? This is the kids movie" that's literally the reason they had to tone down the next movie cause many parents complained that it was too dark for a kid's movie. By the way I really would like you to react Brother Bear and Treasure Planet.

What a heartfelt reaction, the second KFP really did the first movie justice, if not more. Loved it!
10:59 they said “he’s dead” at the same time lol
Yes Master Croc was voiced by Jean-Claude Van Damme. They even had his character do his signature splits
"I'm your son"
Me: TEARS
Actually, the Goat Lady predicts that Shen will be his own undoing. He is also black and white and he is a warrior too. In the end, he chooses to be bad and it kills him
The only part in this movie that left me a little annoyed was when Tigress never got to talk to Po about her story. They never got around to letting her speak her mind, and I think it would've really progressed her as a main character. Either way, I still think she's one of the best characters in the trilogy.

Chinese cannons were invented and developed in the 12th and 13th centuries. So, yeah, WAAAAY before cars and stuff. The closest thing to a car we get in Kung Fu Panda universe is a ricksaw, which are those carts that people pull around as a taxi service of some kind.
This movie is definitely one of the best animated movies of all time imo
Po turning into the yin & yang was symbolic it was the prophecy coming to conclusion.
This is one of my all-time favourite movies, and now this might be of my favourite movie reactions I've seen for it. I'm so glad you were able to experience this masterpiece dude 🔥🔥 I've seen and analyzed this movie countless times, and yet the flashback scene, the final fight, and the ending still wreck me every time.
Po still would've been defeating him now even without the parents asking the soothsayer. But because he did kill the pandas, it made sure that Po would've absolutely been a kung fu warrior
Honestly, I think how he tries to be serious and cool...but still tends to be a little dorky and nerdy...is what makes Po such a charming protagonist. Also, I feel like Shen is my favorite of the three movie villains. He's so complex compared to the other two.
You are so good at noticing plot points and predicting things from them.
the "a part of you here a part of you there" line is so cold
He reminds me so much of Griffith. A childish and prideful person, with an elegant and deadly skill of combat, and disturbly obsessed with perfection and his ambitions.
But foremost, the common ground between them are their motivations. They both desire to obtain everything that can be taken even if it means to cross the line and push it further, but it's not because they don't care how many people will die. It's because they feel responsible of everyone who died because of them.
They both did awful things and feel shame for it, but they already went too far and there is no way to undo it. Worst part is: they aren't even sure that achieving what they want will bring them peace, but they don't know what else to do. Shen says "It's a start", and Griffith just stays emotionless all the time.
The only thing they can do is continue the path they started and succeed no matter the cost. In the end, their biggest fear is that everything they did to that point would be meaningless. That all the sacrifices will be for nothing. I can't help but pity both.
Such a good reaction, subscribing now! I’ve watched a couple of your reactions before but I really appreciate this reaction to Kung Fu Panda, this movie out of all three was sooooo amazing and deep itll always be a top tier animated movie for me and always in my memories of how heartfelt and good this story of Po and the five and all the villains, oogrey and shifu, it was so glorious for its time it came out in the movies! Tigris's parents abandoned her at an orphanage, growing up, the other kids were afraid of her because of her claws & teeth, no body wanted to adopt her & any time she asks a question, they'd tell her it's a stupid question, it developed her to be harden & ( half) bitter, shifu adopted her & trained her
This movie is enough to make a grown man cry… 🥲
The third movie is much 'brigher' than KFP2 and is better animated. Personally, I don't like the 3rd that much, but still, it's a good movie tbh.

Keep up good work, man!
i think it closes off the trilogy really well, even if some of its parts dont quite equal the previous movies. still one of the best animated trilogies of all time
@@DazsdWTP You're right.
I've heard rumours about KFP franchise being planned to have 6 parts, when it was early in production. There is no confirmation though, so I guess that yes, at this moment it could be the ending to the franchise, orrrr... the beginning of something whole lot different. Guess we'll see 🤷
i like the 3 most
3rd is great its just not as impactful as 2 i feel...the villain is less interesting and po's dad's entire story basically comes down to a forced short liar reveal plot for no reason really and thats not fun...its been done...and po feels less complex in that film more comedic like in the first film which worked before he became a warrior but by movie 3 he should be smarter and cooler and less like he was in the first film..he feels like he regressed mentally slightly...i hate when characters do not change much over time..its so lame..and he is more cocky/egocentric in the 3rd film in a way.....

There's a miniseries for all of the character's backstories. Including master Shifu and the furious five.
The third movie isnt as good as the first two but its still better than most movies, it has some amazing moments and is a fantastic conclusion to the kung fu panda trilogy.
Mantis past: he was a strong hero but completely impatient until he got captured by crocs, after he escaped, he became a doctor with acupuncture
Crane past: his mother was extremely overprotective, she'd make him wear armor as a chick & cover everything with pillows, when he got interested in kung fu which broke his mother's weak heart so he kept it secret & lied to her that he'd run an inn, he became a janitor at a kung fu class until he was taken into the jade palace
Monkey past: he & his brother got into many mischief, but while monkey was happy playing harmless pranks & tell jokes, his brother went deeper into a life of crime, claiming himself the king of thievs, his brother was arrested which brought shame to the family, a bit later, oogway🐢took him into the jade palace & trained him, by that time, his brother escaped & continue his criminal ways, he attempted to rob his own mother but monkey stopped him & fought him, the fight broke their mother's heart so bad that it killed her, his criminal brother than left leaving monkey devastated & vowed to protect the family
Viper past: her father was a warrior hero, but because she was born without fangs or venom, he couldn't let her fight so she did a ribbon dance to make him smile
Shifu's past: growing up, shifu's conman father would scam people with amulets that'll cure the sick, shifu would stay up all night to make the amulets look old & sometimes he & his father would leave before the village realise the amulets were fake, when shifu was 12, he sat him down by the jade palace & told him he'd be back 5 minutes but didn't, oogway adopted shifu, 1year old years later, his father came back & traded them a "golden" sword for food & supplies but the sword turned out to be wood
If you’re still interested in the rest of the furious 5’s backstories there are a couple of shorts that show them. Tigress has a lot in common with Po.
Keep doing what youre doing man :D I love these videos!!!!

That is Jean-Claude Van Damme as Master Croc. I wonder what happened to Shen's feet since he has prosthetic feet.
There’s a show where they go back on almost all the characters back stories when they were little.
Fun fact: Jean Claude Van Dame voices Croc 🐊…. Gary Oldman voices: Lord Shen
The first one is my favorite because it has the most Oogway in it. The first half of the third one is less good but the second half almost makes up for it. It's amazing.
You can see the past of the 5 furious in Netflix, it's name is "The Secret of the Scroll" even in that short movie you can see the past of the master Rino, Cocodrile and Bufalo (i think that his name xd)
@GalacticJV Actually, the soothsayer meant that if Shen were to fall into corruption and evil, he would be stop by this said warrior to cease his dark path.
It has stated in the opening scene that the young Shen has found a way to weaponise the fireworks and his parents worried that if Shen were to succeed their throne, they feared their son would ruled with brute force, an iron fist military general kind of rule thing, and what's worse is with the weaponised fireworks that the parents created only to bring beauty and happiness, as we have seen how he get the idea for the canons.
So in desperation and hoping for a way to change their sons ways, the peacock rulers sought the soothsayer for advice if Shen can still be changed. Though it doesn't say it in the movie, it may be possible for Shen to rule like a good and peaceful ruler as an alternative if I were good but if Shen were bad and keep pursuing on this dark path, then his bad deeds has to be stopped if China were to be at peace. That's what the soothsayer meant if Shen were to be stopped by the said warrior if he continued on to this dark path.
Unfortunately though, Shen, who was eavesdropping, misheard about the prophecy. He thinks this black and white warrior would come and usurped him of his throne and heritage as he wanted to succeed as ruler as his parents. This misinformation and obsession for pursuing his destiny is what led Shen to massacre the Panda village. What the young peacock did he thought was an act of triumph in securing his legacy and throne is actually an act of wrongdoing, to which his parents were horrified. They thought their son could be a good ruler and change but seeing as he go as far to massacre a village to secure his position, they know there's darkness in him and they let someone with an ambition like that to rule, even if its their own child. That's way they cast him out.
This is what the soothsayer meant about rather than changing his fate, he sealed it. A fate of evil.
Shen, feeling hurt, frustration and anger over this turn of events, now see that if he can no longer succeed to become a ruler of China, he might as well take it. This is kinda like the route of an outcast, corrupted young noble who has done a crime he doesn't know of, seeking to rule by force kind of thing.
So you see, it's not the goat soothsayer's fault, Shen's fault, his parents or anyone's. It was all a misunderstanding and false pursuit of destiny is what led Shen to be the way he is.
This is why we should always remember the saying, "Jump to conclusions could only lead to confusion". Meaning we must understand the whole thing cleary first before we make up a final decision.
30:30 I wish with my deep empathy that had never happened to you or to your loved ones. What life we ever finally created we can't afford on abandoning it, especially the children. Man, it's so dark.
33:28 Ah yes, my favorite kungfu fighter, Master Crap
In this sequel introducing Shen voiced by Gary Oldman as a white peacock and Po learns about his origin and how he was adopted
If it weren't for the Soothsayer tried to warn Shen's parents then Po wouldn't have such a tragic life as a baby, sadly alternatively he wouldn't able to meet Ping his adoptive father. I feel sorry for Shen, it's like no one in the world even share his love or passion all he did was revenge from keeping him in the darkness with solitude. I sometimes like that and what it's like to be a villain.
What an excellent video, JV! Honestly, while I still live the first film, from the action, to the messages, and things like that, I still felt like Kung Fu Panda 2 was superior in nearly every way. I thought the villain was better developed than Tai Lung (though Tai Lung is still a good villain), the action was amazing, the sequel pulls at the heartstrings more, and I liked how the film tackles the contrast between Po, and Lord Shen. I mean I liked how Po realized that even if his past was horrible, particularly when he was a baby, he was willing to move forward, and make his future better. Sadly, Shen stayed evil, and stuck to his evil ways, even when Po tried to reason with him in that regard. I wonder if a compare/contrast essay could be written between the two characters, you know? Still, part of me wishes that Shen had been willing to finally say no to trying to kill Po, especially since there’s been somewhat of a long history of heroes trying to save villains, and then refusing to change anyway when it comes to the world of animated films (i.e. Quasimodo trying to save Frollo, and him staying evil in Hunchback Of Notre Dame, or Kiara trying to save Zira, and her refusing to redeem herself, and committing suicide in Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride, and animated films like those). Well, regardless, I loved this sequel. In fact, I might like this one the best of the three. But I respect of anyone who feels otherwise. Well, thanks for reacting to this sequel. Now, for the third film!
By the way, the All State guy also voices a character in the 2003 DreamWorks film, Sinbad: Legend Of The Seven Seas. Speaking of which, I hope you react to that animated film sooner rather than later as well. Anyway, thanks!
You say this is a kids movie, but animation does not mean solely for kids. Take Avatar Last Airbender just because the main character is 12 years old doesn't mean the topics in the show are intended just for young audience. Both ATLA and Kung Fu Panda have genocide and kid killing because there had to be more baby pandas that were in Po's village, you have family and friends building and challenges.
Seeing Po and Tigress becoming friends makes me think of the characters who represent the astrology versions of them in Fruits Basket. Which is a series-manga and anime versions- you might want to check out. Great series.
That part where they killed Po's mother really hits me to the core.
It's ok to cry 💫
