The video attests to visions and Blueprints set out since the 1950's (by the Garvey-Ite, Dr Nkrumah) and only NOW, after nearly 70 years it seems, traction is being gained on ideas.....
I shall make it simpler for you.....!!
1: There are no weapons an African can get hold of that will supersede the Western Military Machine, unless developed by AFRICANS THEMSELVES !
2: The acquisition / development / customization of such weapons will provoke the SELLOUTS within Africa against their own (there is untold precedent to this) !
3: The preferred method of War to colonize/ neutralize the Africans (by whatever OUTSIDE FORCE) will be by disease and specially adapted viruses - EBOLA was deployed to TEST the African resolve and the capacity of Western Civilisation to respond to CONTAGION !!
To conclude, rather than give money to the Ruskies so Africans can kill OTHER Africans in even more BARBARIC (and evidently ELF-LOATHING) ways, Africans should prepare facilities at home to STUMP the BRAIN-DRAIN of SCIENTISTS and ENGINEERS - COUNTLESS "CREATIVES & GENIUS'S" to be discovered NOW, in Africa !!
Opportunity to arm (on WAKANDAN-LEVELS) will occur HOLISTICALLY, as a natural by-product of innovative success and scientific ACCOMPLISHMENT - The path to gaining RESPECT in the world...!!
Now let me see you respond with "Mmmm', that makes sense...."
I appeal to your good reason:

@Culture Freedom Hello.😊Based upon negative historical factors and the one-sided narrative that exists around African trade, it is understandable why one would be skeptical and even pose the question as to what, if any, benefits will the ACFTA produce in Africa? But by visiting the website below, one can get a comprehensive look at the variety of commodities that countries in Africa export to the U.S. therefore getting a better understanding of what the real possibility of inter-continental trade in Africa could look like. And, if we expand our search and look at African trade with other global regions outside the U.S., I'm quite sure we will get an even greater understanding of the measurable outcomes that African governments hope to gain by creating this ambitious inter-continental trade agreement. ustr.gov/countries-regions/africa

Addressing the mass migration. We can take smaller steps and not go straight to the same system as the EU.
    For example;
    1) Allow free TRADE of goods and services.
    2) Build the infrastructure, logistics means and other projects across the continent.
    3) Free Visa on arrival or e-visa for all African nationals.
    4) Than the free movement of people, without any passport control.
    5) Unifying the African currency sounds cool, but I don't think I would want it because of high inflation in many countries. Also, now there is crypto and digital currency, we should wait and see their potential.
I would be so happy, if during my life, I can travel from Cairo to Cape Town in a high speed train (or even hyper loop) where I would be able to stop in many cities without the hassle of borders and feel safe and welcomed in each country.

Same questions I have always asked myself... With the exception of South Africa, Nigeria and Morocco, what do African countries produce other than raw materials that is making the clueless leaders push for a free trade market so soon? Is it to freely export criminals across African borders?
This AfCFTA is nothing but the work of China that seeks to choke clueless African leaders with debt on sea or airports they don't need, take over those ports and use same to flood other African countries with Chinese products duty-free. But then, what can one expect from African leaders who accepted a Greek AU headquarters gift from China and are being spied on during AU meetings?
As a Nigerian, we haven't even fulfilled local demand for goods nor maximised export of goods in free Ecowas market, and now we're joining free trade with the rest of Africa despite the issues of porous borders? I am against us joining this Chinese-induced AfCFTA else Nigeria as a huge market will become a dumping ground for Chinese or European goods.

You don't speak and sound as Africa to me! No human being was born and begin to walk and run! A human child grows up in stages. He has to understand that fire burns. Has to learn that seating doesn't come without falling so is walking does not come without falling hard, let alone running. You don't fall and remain flat on the ground, the child does not remain down there, he gets up until he is strong to run a marathon. We did not know that one day Africa will be free politically from colonial rule. But our fathers had a vision, they knew that they can rule themselves. We are ruling ourselves politically though not fully! This is the same with economic freedom of this great continent! It won't be easy as nothing comes easy, as we take examples from a child. Africa is not running yet! She is walking. But very soon she will run a great marathon in which no one will compete with her.
Who can run as faster as her on a world platform where Olympics are concerned? is it not children of mother Africa? I can only imagine how she will take on on economic arena. Have faith my brother your Africa will reach where she belongs. "SHE IS THE LEADER" The mother of all humanity. Never mind She will be there. Africa would’ve fallen apart if we did it so long ago.
We are not ready to mimic the EU. Remember how many rebellions and wars were happening in Africa 5 decades ago? There were wars happening in most African countries. If we mimicked the EU and went full on free trade we would’ve seen catastrophe endue for Africa.
We can’t simply learn in the go as many people want. Some people say, let’s start Africa free trade right now, we’ll learn and make it work on the go. If we do that we’d hurt so many people’s lives. Remember The USSR? The USSR implemented full on communism without putting much thought into it. It sounded nice on paper so they said let’s do it, we’ll learn on the go. It’s because of that so many tens of millions of people died in the USSR and it eventually collapsed. Remember Somalia? They implemented full on Lassez faire capitalism saying they’d learn on the go. It’s because of that they suffered so greatly.
The EU was thought out for a long time before they decided to make it happen. The brightest minds in the AU say this is a bad idea and it is. They studied economics. Most people that want this Africa free trade are those who aren’t economists. We weren’t ready then and we aren’t ready now for Africa free trade.
We are many many decades or even a century away from a united Africa(don’t forget Africa is a continent and there isn’t a single continent in the world that’s united. Not even all European countries are part of EU)

The job lies essentially upon the shoulders of the African Union - who need to be firm in the implementation of the guidelines that all members of the 55 countries should abide to the agreement. First things to be done is to implement an African Union Passport to end with the joke of having visas to travel inter-Africa which was left by the former colonial rulers that must still be laughing that after 50 years the bureaucracy still exists and continues damaging the development of Mother Africa! It is High Time to wake up and mainly for the politicians to be made accountable for the continuous mistakes and greed that negates Africa to rise to its might! Once good measures are taken to effect the Africans that are living abroad and were looked down by the politicians that took over governance after independence will start returning with the knowledge and expertise that they gained abroad. This is one reason to praise Ghana's president who has become the pioneer to encourage the return of people of the various diasporas. The governments of all African countries have to be encouraged by the African Union to implement TV programs to make their citizens aware to join hands and forget about going abroad, to be killed in the Mediterranean, as it is happening every day.We need to fight to lift our MOTHERLAND to become THE CONTINENT OF THE FUTURE and that can only happen if the politicians throw away their allegiances with their cronies and to really start making a reality the promises that they make before being elected! To be strong African must look inside instead of looking out with opens hands begging for alms!!!

Sol Rhopalocera so I wanna ask you a simple question. Do you like the fact that Individual countries in the Africa zone trade with countries other than themselves? Is 19% of intra-trade between african countries what you want?
If America were able to unite, If China were able to unite, so shall we
I Do you know how long it will take the individual states to catch up with the rest of the world?
Let me give you a simple example: if Zimbabwe continues to grow at this current rate, it will take them 450 years to attain the status of a developed country
But if Africa had one currency and one central bank, Zimbabwe would have been cushioned by the single currency and not experienced the worse galloping inflation rates in decades.
So now tell me, how African countries are going to develop if they fail to trade among themselves.

    • @solrhopalocera5704
      @solrhopalocera5704 Před 4 lety +3

      arkorful kwaansa
Zimbabwe as a single nation was strong once but Mugabe destroyed it by making foolish decisions. Libya was a prosperous nation despite having to grow on its own but that was because it didn’t suffer what most other African countries suffered from and still do today -incompetence, corruption and lack of love for their countries. There were also other strong African nations like burkino faso who had leaders that were achieving lots of growth(Thomas sankara) but then his incompetent and corrupt subordinates betrayed and assassinated him. The proceeded to lead the country to ruin. (Once again Africans destroy their own countries opportunity, due to corruption and incompetence)
African countries can grow individually. Although an african bank and a central currency is something I can agree with, free trade is not. It would destroy countries with nothing to offer inside their own borders like Somalia which would cause serious brain drains for them. At the same time other countries with something to offer will become overcrowded with too many people coming to them to seek jobs. It is human nature to leave a country when there’s a better job in another country.
Also, China and America had completely different situations from us. America was united to fight a war against Britain and it’s not a continent that united. China was united by force and is being forcibly held together by force to this day and its not a continent. Africa is extremely diverse. The more diverse a country is the more impossible it becomes to keep it together with democracy. Africa would be impossible to hold together with democracy because we are the most diverse continent on earth. Look at how China isn’t even a continent and it isn’t even as diverse as us yet still has to work so hard to keep itself from losing its own provinces. It wouldn’t be able to do this if it were a democracy. How can we expect Africa to have a leader from somewhere like Somalia? Aren’t many Kenyans gonna dislike him and want to revolt? What about the people from somaliland? Aren’t they gonna wanna revolt and break free from our country too? What about people from South Africa, this president that was elected will be nothing like any of the South Africans so what makes you think much South Africans would wanna vote for him? Everyone’s just gonna vote for leaders in their country and if their votes leader isn’t the leader of Africa then they will simply want to revolt and leave our united Africa. If you want Africa to unite then your gonna have to completely reject democracy and prepare for many civil wars and rebellions. You can’t just make such a diverse *continent* come together like that and expect everything the work out. Most Africans will either simply vote against a united Africa because they don’t want to be led by someone they’ve never seen or someone they don’t understand and who doesn’t understand them. Even though Europe is only exercising an economic agreement it is still 100% incapable of ever coming together as a continent to form 1 country. Just look at how diverse it is and how much countries are feuding in it. So abandon democracy all in the name of a dream then prepare for many civil wars and rebellions for a united Africa.
Our problem in Africa is that we are trying too hard to grow with the same methods the west uses. The west has already developed and is using methods that are only good for developed nations. If Africa wants more developed nations its gonna have to stop trying to use western methods which are only geared towards small but sustainable growth. China realized this and that’s why they achieved growth. Because they used alternate methods that were perfect and radical enough for a developing or third world country.
Africa free trade would be bad because we’d just be trying to mimic the EU. The problem with that is most countries in the EU are developed and have strong local economies meaning most of their people wouldn’t leave to another country for jobs due to a free trade agreement like the EU. However if it happens in Africa you’ll see countries losing lots of people as they take advantage of the free movement to go to countries like South Africa, Namibia, Egypt and possibly Nigeria and some other African countries for jobs that will pay better than their local jobs.
African countries need to look at what they are best at and what resources they have that the world needs most. Then they need to do what countries like the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia did. They need make full use of these resources by selling them so they can build infrastructure.
Oh yes and free trade kills small businesses. The reason behind this is that free trade allows large corporations to go off and sell in other countries for free. Now since these corporations have superior productive capacity to these small businesses, they’ll be able to sell at a cheaper price. The concept of this is called economies of scale. Now since small businesses don’t have the same productive capacity they will not be able to sell their products at a cheap price like the large corporations. This is called diseconomies of scale. Now all the small businesses will die and each country of Africa participating in something like free trade will see high unemployment. All economists know that a country with no small businesses and just large corporations will only create high unemployment.
However even though I agree with the African central bank idea and a continental currency, we won’t be able to make full use of these until African countries stop electing incompetent and corrupt leaders. Or these leaders will just keep borrowing from the african central bank only worsening their debt while at the same time make poor use of the continental currency.

Afrika has experimented the Berlin Conference colonial train project for far too long and it has failed because it is incompatible with Africa's needs! All the economic and social issues of Africa today needs to be addressed at a continental scale. Tariffs should be put outside of Africa e.g. Europe, Asia, Americas. Because those low tariffs and opening of the continent to foreigners have destroyed Africa's economy and it's industries. Freedom of movement can be regulated with strong regional institutions. A continental scale of building Village industrialisation, large towns and mega cities to curb excessive migration flows by breaking the Berlin Conference structure. Gov backed Monopolies would need to be regulated, free trade is not free and that is the ugly truth. But the risk is worth taking for economic and political sovereignity.

The notion that it is easier for an outsider to enter our borders than it is for a neighbor speaks to a deeper issue of us hating our own image while worshipping the image of the other. Africans by far still have self-hate issues that need to be addressed before we can ever see each other as more deserving of prosperity than those who loot us.
The only thing I don't agree with is the idea of the "U.S. of Africa." The continent is too big and too ethnically diverse for a single government to ever work. I think removing VISA requirements and implementing regional currencies (ECOWAS, EAC, COMESA, SADC, etc) is a great place to start. But we can love and work with each other without becoming a single country.

Imagine, they could've had a good and functioning trading bloc 10-50 years into the future, but instead everybody is too scared to repeat the first failure that the said trading bloc is pushed 100 years into the futre :

Africa should do all of this free trade stuff, single currency and so on - but only within Africa itself. Since the continent is underdeveloped in contrast to the world, there needs to be some kind of protectionist policy against f.e. asian or european food and clothing. That stuff shouldn't be imported in Africa without some african-wide import duty on these goods.

Being the world's largest trading bloc for the greater benefit of non-Africans would be another example of buffoonery. It doesn't have to be that way.
AU member countries need to simultaneously take steps in an African Cultural Revolution (this was attempted by some of the Pan-Africanists (mentioned in the film ) after independence . . . but needs to be revived on a larger scale as was done in China).
At a minimum, the aims of such a revolution (as has occurred in nearly every successful country/continent) should be to:
    1. restore order to the African Paradigm . . . that is, replace self-destructive Euro-centric colonial aping (language, currency, religion, iconography, aspiration) with the kind of African thinking that built the world's first great civilizations, which the former plundered for their own greater benefit;
    2. pivot efforts and resources to internal African industrialization with measured FDI for self-beneficiation of African nations and the continent (the wealth of Africa should be for Africans first . . .others can benefit from buying Africa's surplus @ market prices); and
    3. stand up a coordinated security mechanism to protect and defend African peoples, wealth, and posterity from enemies (corruption, carpetbaggers, etc.); near and far, inside and outside, foreign and domestic. Be aware that there are no African military installations allowed in the US, UK, EU, China, et al. But each of these nations has military (and even Law Enforcement) facilities in Africa. Countries like the UK are recruiting Africans for their own national militaries. Who, in Africa, agreed to and negotiated such absurd arrangements?
Dependency on the beneficence of enemies is insane. And self-sufficiency requires self-reliance(and sometimes a little help from your friends, but definitely . . . not your enemy) for the ways and means of life, freedom, and a prosperous future.

Everyone is overlooking basic differences In African cultures that would make there be constant strife between leadership and the people of Africa....is a south african leader going to manage the people of northern Sudan the way they're ok with? Look what the ANC has done to south Africa politically, culturally and economically since the end of apartheid 25 years back....they took a thriving first world power playing country and have put the rand at near junk status with all around corrupt top leadership that has trickled down to local government. If those people were put in charge of unbordered africa we would not see stable or growing economies like Botswana and kenya

Free trade sounds good but there should still be more than one currency in Africa. Each country should also be self governing, not having the whole of Africa being ruled by just one person. Africa should not be like the US with one president, or like the EU with the fairly weak euro as its currency. Here in the UK, sterling is worth more than the euro and most of us are glad that we did not give up our currency. Here, the EU has become far too dominant and we are are now expected to obey laws that were not made in our own country. This is why more than half the UK voted for Brexit. A number of other European countries are also dissatisfied with the EU as one big superstate, dictating from Brussels. Individual countries should not give up their national identities, customs and culture. Borders can also be useful to protect people that are fleeing from some sort of persecution. A refugee or a victim of crime can be protected from harm if they flee to another country with different laws.

A union of nations is a double edged sword, not to dissuade the benefits of such a union, one must understand that sharing the benefits of each nation also mean the sharing of each other's problems. South Africa is struggling with violence against African immigrants by the local black populations, this issue will likely spread across all of Africa if a union was declared.

Free trade across all Africa states is a must! That's the first step. Then when all regions of Africa have stable economies and populations, only then will open borders will be possible. If borders are opened now, there will mass migration to developed areas and rural areas will stay as poor as ever. We need to build up those places first
And we need to divide Africa into southern, western, eastern and central zones of administration so that africa is controlled not by only one person, but many who will allocate funds together for the development of the whole of Africa! What if that one person turns out to be corrupt? The whole African continent is doomed

Will never happen unless we start small because this “African unity” will not end well.
Let’s start with West African unity and free movement, East African, Central African, Southern African. Maybe if we can all find unity in our respective regions, then perhaps we can start thinking about African unity.
Until then, African Unity will never happen.

The saying goes...the devil is in the detail...we need to scrutinize the terms for joining the union. This sounds like a great idea however there is just too many risks associated at this point to just go ahead. Security, external vested interest, internal vested interest, lack of transparency, in effective judiciary etc. We need to be very careful each nation needs to meet certain development criteria before this can prove viable everyone should not just be invited. A united Africa with weak infrastructure, legislation, security and economic principle in place makes easy picking for Westerns or other powers

Very well done and many thanks for the information. I would like to also to give praise to the leaders who are honest about making a change and who are committed to making this a reality. Greed and corruption will always play a role in any new trade agreement on the continent and yes, greed will be in the mix as well. Inspite of this, we cannot afford to stop and not keep moving towards the dream of having a prosperous Africa. After all I live in one of the most properous country in the world and also one of the most corrupt and it's still working. It can work if GREED is controlled, Hotep.

As a European, I think it's good to decouple African currencies from the Euro. But, I think Africans should be aware of the problems of a single currency. Don't make the mistakes that we Europeans have done. The euro has real structural problems. Countries within the eurozone, because they have different economies can't implement their own monetary policies to sort out their problems (hence Greece, Italy etc..) If your economies are similar, this single currency might deliver massive benefits. But it could also spell disaster trying to compete with more powerful economies like Nigeria. Also what I believe Africans should learn about is MMT, Modern Monetary Theory. If this theory is correct (and I believe this to be so), linking up your currencies, would mean you are giving up your monetary sovereignity and your ability to print/issue your own currencies which would limit your countries future. BE AWARE AFRICA!!!

You’re not wrong there. Set up regional free trade markets as well as regional manufacturing and logistic hubs.
People have been saying to watch out for the Chinese trying to build factories in Africa. I say use China as a catalyst for African industrialization because the Chinese already have a demand that Africans needs to fulfill. Being a part of the integrated Chinese manufacturing and logistic market is Africa’s golden ticket to industrialization, just like how the Industrial Revolution of the 1800s was tied to the European international market.
