If you are considering making the move to wireless tattooing, this episode is for you. Today, Jake (@pluguglyart) compares tattoo machine batteries from opposite ends of the spectrum. Although he completely botched the price comparison, (the cost of the Critical System is $500, not $600) we think this episode will provide all the info you need to make the best decision for your tattooing. Enjoy!

Is there a problem running the cheaper batteries in a bishop wand packer? I've read it could mess up the coreless motor but I can't find anything solid that it would damage it. What does the critical batteries have in them that the cheap ones don't?

Hey Brother, thanks for the Information about the choices of battery power supply for our Machines.. I have been using the same Battery Power supplies as you. And I do love them. I am looking at getting the one's you're talking about. Yes, there's a price diffeenace, but yet still good quality. I love the RCA Jack verses the 3.5MM Wireless Jack. But I aswell gave up clip cords years ago & I've been Tattooing since 1995. But Hells Yeah man. Awesome quality Battery Power supply, and way better than cord. I clipped the cord years ago. Hopefully I can network with other Professional Tattoo Artists. I can't get past working with anyone who didn't go through an Apprenticeship. When someone comes up to me-asks questions about the industry and how much it's changed, the words I hear are,
((((( "OH HELL YEA MAN I have a "GUN" I been playing around with it and Tattooing people who just want Tattoo's, So this is my way of learning how to use my "GUN", I'm not paying for an Apprenticeship and the way I will be spoken too, degrading me and shit- no I will learn on my own because If You can do it, I can do it too"!)))))
Lets just say I can't...I JUST CAN'T talk to any-one people. who believes they're going to learn what "Tattoo 101" is all about. I'm sure anyone reading this hopefully has been through an apprenticeship and earned their right to Tattoo knows what I'm talking about. If you earned your right to Tattoo & how you learned was through an Apprenticeship, then the same feelings are mutual knowing that there has to be one way to be in this industry. And anyone trying to reinvent the wheel of NOT going through an appreticeship should not be buying any Tattoo Machines-Equipment, or using these Tools-which Tattooing is sacred to me and to be apart of because I learned how to tattoo from my 3 Year Apprenticeship.
    Anyway.
I apppreciate the video, helped me out knowing a little more on these Powersupply Batteries I'm using for my Rotary Machines. I started using the ROCKET ROTARY MACHINE, WHICH IN MY OPINION IS TRULY A POWERFUL MACHINE. GREAT PERFORMANCE AND AMAZINGLY QUICK WHEN I'M TATTOOING.I use My Bishop Rotary Machines.- The,
    "BISHOP WAND LINER"-
    BISHOP WAND PACKER-
    BISHOP FANTOM ROTARY MACHINE-
    BISHOP MICROANGELO ROTARY MACHINE- MACHINES
And all are wireless, except for my Bishop "FANTOM" "MICROANGELO", BISHOP V6 ROTARY MACHINE. Can be set up for wireless, but besides that, I'm good. oF COURSE BEING AN OLD SCHOOL CAT I USE MY MICKY SHARPZ COIL MACHINES STILL BECAUSE THRY'RE SET CORRECT FOR INDIVIDUAL USE, LINING & SHADING. OF COURSE THIS IS A WHOLE OTHER TOPIC!
I appreciate your info again Thaks so much. Be safe. \m/

I think these battery packs are a money grab imo they don't last as long and when they die you have serious down time sending it in to the manufacturer . @lucasslomski8528 Před 3 lety +5

Couple of things left out, which is surprising as this should have been a more in depth review especially for a free product they got. 1. The weight for the Amazon battery is 2.4oz and the critical is 2 oz, I know they mentioned it but didn’t give specific numbers. 2. The critical battery is centered rca connection, so you don’t have the weight hanging behind you like a coil machine (personal preference of course. 3. The critical battery is a OLED display and shows remaining battery power and also beeps when you have a few minutes left to tattoo so you don’t just get a sudden cut out mid tattoo. 4. The dock isn’t required and you can just get one battery for $249.99 and the critical also has a 1 year warranty on it from a company that actually understands tattooing 4. The instant pause/resume feature on the critical is super cool especially if you’re someone like me who sets your machine down time to time, or likes the option to pause your machine when you dip in ink to avoid the dreaded bottom or side of ink cap splatter especially if you’re rocking a long stroke. Those are just a few things I thought as I watched this, yes it’s $249.99, but in my opinion you get what you pay for this time around. Love you fireside guys though! No hate! 👍🏻

I don't think I'm sold on this. At 500$ for a thing that is unavoidably disposable. "Lithium-ion batteries are, in essence, continuously degrading from the moment they are first used. This is as a result of the fundamental chemistry of the battery, which gives rise to unavoidable chemical reactions which take place inside the battery during runtime." Heat speeds that process up. Maybe if they will for a small fee replace the 18500 battery (most likely, just a guess) for a small fee(would have to be small). Then I might consider it. Actually it should just be a battery compartment that I can change out the batteries inside. At any rate $500 is too steep for a disposable product. For you, free is a great price.
