Tattooed Trucks of Nepal - Horn Please

Throughout Nepal, large freight trucks painted by artists provide special visual entertainment for travelers along the highways and dangerous mountain roads of the Himalayas. These creatively painted scenes and sayings can be clever, witty and even profound - offering food for thought to the viewer. Former Peace Corps volunteer and UC San Diego lecturer emeritus Ron Ranson, along with filmmaker Sudarson Karki, document the Nepali custom of painting trucks with icons of their country, spiritual life, European sports teams and even major movies like "Titanic." North: We used a notification in 2020 as our basis for this comment. "For more than 200 years a male bastion, the Brigade of Gurkhas of the British Army will now induct Nepalese women, with the first female recruits set to join the elite regiment in 2020." RR

Yes - we really struggled with that one, Margie. It's horrible what China has done to Tibetan culture. But from a geographic POV - we needed to locate the countries as such.
