I also had 2021 Ultimate which I used to make the first 13 or so videos here. Because the screen and menu layout was changed enough in the "2024 Versions" I had to make the hard choice to switch in order to keep these videos looking up-to-date in spite of the fact that when first released, this newer version was hated so much.
I will give Cyberlink some credit though because apparently they heard loud and clear what the users were upset about in the new version and they have made several updates that added back in most of what they eliminated. I'm still getting used to the new menu layout and at this point I will say that I think I like this 2024 - 365 version just as much if not more.

I cant find an answer anywhere. Wonder if you can help me. Is there a function in 365 that allows you to mark the video while recording? I sometimes record for several hours and I would like to be able to mark while I'm recording so parts that need edits can be found easily.
    Thanks in advance.

Your question is a little confusing to me. PowerDirector 365 is a video EDITOR and not a live recorder. There are timeline markers that you can manually input while editing a video in PD365 but once again those markers are inserted during the editing process and not during the recording process. Perhaps you are thinking of Cyberlink's Screen Recorder program that comes bundles with the editor. Unfortunately Screen Recorder does not offer any recording marker capability. Depending upon your hardware setup for recording, certain devices may offer that capability but the methods vary from device to device. There are many suggestions as to how you can obtain the same feature without having any special hardware other than Screen Recorder for gaming in Windows. The best suggestion I've heard is to run the Windows Clock app in Stopwatch mode. Whenever you see a video event that you want to mark, simply hit the lap button on the stopwatch. It creates a list of each event which you can use to find in your finished recording. HTH

May I ask which type did you purchase, the Perpetual License or the 365 Subscription? By the way, if this is your first venture into video editing, I think you'll like it and yes, it will be worth it. If you ever have any questions just leave a comment on one of the videos and I'll get back to you.

@@Baldy-1 I purchased the subscription. I hope I find it good enough to keep when the discount runs out. But that is a whole year. and yeah, it is my first time with actual editing software. I put up some videos on youtube with their studio, which is pretty limited for the beginner, just to test if my content was going to get views.
