    FANTASTIC, coherent overview, Maliek! While I had seen the “tags” icon, I never knew how/why they were used, and I had seen the “beat detection” option but never used it, either. I liked how you went through the steps of adding background music, sound effects, and color correction. Just an all around excellent tutorial! 😃👏👏👏👏👏😃

  • @scottbogfoot

    Trimming to the beat marker can be good but if you over use it someone like me will instantly pick up on it, the viewer should never have the video maker's process in mind when watching anything, it's a distraction. The best editing is when nobody even thinks about it. 😃 cheers from Newfoundland man, you have a great way of passing knowledge, very easy to follow along.

    Hi Maliek really appreciating your videos about powerd, many times they got me out of trouble. As another subject for a video it would be interesting to see your take on powerdirector workflow to do a youtube "normal " lenght video and use the same workflow to do a short 1minute or less youtube or tiktok style video. The idea is to work once and export in 2 types of media. Thanks for everything you are doing brother!

I didn't know about beat detection, and I have been splitting the audio track on every beat to make trimming clips to the beat easier. I am getting some fantastic pro looking videos thanks to your tutorials 👍
    I also am a semi.pro photographer, now adding videography.
    But......
    I am feeling pressurised to step up to premiere pro or da vinci
    I mostly do music videos and aiming g for small business promotions etc
    But videographers I know
    Never heard of PD and say i should learn Premier Pro
    Even though they like my work
    I dont really want ro learn a whole new software...
    Any feedback really appreciated 🙏

    • @PDU_Tutorials
      @PDU_Tutorials  Před 3 lety

      I would ask them, could you tell what software I used before I told you? It doesn’t matter what you use, what matters is the results you get and if you are satisfied with the software. People who are more concerned about what you use rather than the results of your work do not know what they are talking about.
      Don’t let peer pressure get you into a situation where you have to learn something new when you do not want to. If there is something that another program can offer that you can’t live without then I say go to the other program. But if you are satisfied with PD and get the results you want don’t change because of what someone else tells you.
      That’s my opinion.

      I would go with the highest frame rate. In the future try to film / use clips with the same frame rate unless you plan to slow down the speed using a frame rate that is divisible by the final frame rate.

    Great information Maliek. I have seen the beat detection but haven't used it. Always try to do it manually but this is so much better. Also the audio director I haven't seen. Will look for it now. Thanks for a great tutorial and enjoy your day.

    question: when i ass my transitions my audio falls off. do i prevent that by locking the audio tracks?

    • @PDU_Tutorials
      @PDU_Tutorials  Před 2 lety +1

      Your audio should not change when you add transitions. If this is happening and you are not using audio transitions you should contact CyberLink. The link is on my channel under the About section

      No I don’t. You can use the tutorial request form in the video description if you want to add it to my list. You’d be request 200 or so.

    As usual, your marvelous coaching method, putting attention to details and demonstrating accurate workflow how to create a short movie from start to finish. However, my latest power director 365 subscription doesn't have any LUTS, nor the color director or the audio director, I see your version has all these included.

    • @PDU_Tutorials
      @PDU_Tutorials  Před 3 lety +1

      You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
      I have Director Suite so they are all included. The only program outside of PowerDirector in this video was Audio Director. As stated in the video you can manually reduce the duration of the music if you don't have Audio Director.

    Per the usual, a great tutorial.
    I have a question that PD has not helped with.
    IMHO, PD Media room needs a sort by DATE. Date only. The original date of a file.
    I do videos of my church and mens club using multiple camera, iPhone, OsmoPocket, DJI Drone, etc. When you bring in JPG, MOV, MP4, and TIF from different cameras and sources, to tell a story, it would be easier in the media room lined up by DATE.
    Not everything has a DATE created.
    Date Modified is all different.
    DATE stays constant across platforms.
    The only solution I have to date (pun intended) is to Sort by date in Windows Explorer (WE), then global rename files for a sequencing result. But, then you have to manually change all files different than the first type in line to get a constant name ascending profile, as WE restarts naming in each file type.
    Any PDU Love to apply to this irritation?

      If you're looking for a solution or feature update it would be best to reach out to CyberLink. I can't do anything for you. 🤷🏾‍♂️
