  • Great Britain is misrepresented on Google Maps with a single picture of a rock in a field. We need to change that with a good old cup of tea. We took inspiration from GeoWizard and had our first attempt at a straight line mission to make things interesting for us! ‪@GeoWizard‬

I haven't laughed so much in ages. It was brilliant. I'm off to leave my review on Google. Hopefully, we get to see you both out on another adventure soon. Thanks for sharing ❤.

That was a fantastic stone wall at the beginning........like a miniature Hadian's Wall...here in the USA, our stone walls are not as high and are more rounded.........I have watched a few straight line missions on utube...so great job..thanks🐻🐻

There are loads of dry stone walls in Northern England, some of them are amazingly built on some extreme inclines. They obviously serve the purpose of keeping animals enclosed and marking boundaries, but they are also a by-product of removing stones from fields. I heard somewhere that in the 19th century, a government employment program was basically to take people to the fells and have them build dry stone walls. I've not done any research to validate this so I don't know for sure if it's true.
Considering the only thing holding them together is friction (no cement/mortar at all) they are very resilient and can last a few hundred years, although sometimes sections need to be rebuilt every now and then. There are various regional styles of construction, too, so someone who knows their stuff could tell you where a wall is just by looking at it. Well, strictly speaking I guess they could tell you where the person who built it was from.

Have you seen those things though that they have in George Fisher? Maps I think they call them. Really good, work without any data plan and if you mix it with a magnetic field pointing device you can find your way with no need for a battery :)

And lo and behold here you are! 😁 I really hope you guys had permission to be on that land because videoing yourself going by a sign that says "private" and then posting it to CZcams can be kind of silly if you don't. Good to be back Micah and thanks for stopping by again! Nah no permission to be there but the UK is a bit odd with this stuff. The area surrounding the centre is actually covered by the right to roam so for the most part we're all good. There was a few fields that were farmers land but we would of left if asked to! All good tho :)
