As you learn English you begin to realize how important grammar is. These 9 phrasal verbs are used often in English but they’re a bit tricky. I’ll help you build your vocabulary and speak fast by walking you through each of these words. You’ll learn English the way that native speakers learn: by doing it! These verbs will help you sound more like a native speaker as you learn English. I’ve included clips of native speakers using these verbs in all kinds of different contexts so that you can learn English vocabulary directly from Americans. Learning English from a book is important but it won’t help you talk like an American. For that, you need to learn English in the way it’s presented here: from a native speaker with a focus on pronunciation.

Better try a 12 week year.
Hangi düzeydesin
Great goal, keep going for it!
Each of Rachel‘s English videos can always boil down to the greatest pain points of English learners, and vividly address them, thereby encourage many learners to tag along with you. Thank you!
You're welcome @equipment8999!
The presentation was excellent. They all boiled down to learning English.
Have a happy new year! Ms. Rachel. For the last 3 months I have learned so much from you. It would've been greater if I had found your lessons on the U tube when I was younger.
I believe you are the best English teacher in terms of noticing where and why foreign students are having difficulties in improving our English ability, and helping us those needed areas . Thank you. God bless you.
Happy to hear that @user-xy8td6gw1u! Keep it up!
This is the best way to learn those phrasal expressions.
Thank you @arataka57!
Wow Rachel! That's something I've been waiting for for so long. That's even better than your advanced vocab videos. Personally, I guess this is the way vocabulary should be acquired by naturally varied review. Thank you sooo much. Keep rolling around these video not only with phrasal verbs but also with popular collocations.
You're very welcome and thanks for sharing @clandestine2701!
Wow. As a native speaker, I didn't realize just how difficult these phrasal verbs would be to figure out from their individual words.... YIKES! Just know that you can speak perfectly good and understandable English without these kinds of phrasal verbs, so be patient with yourself as you learn them!! You got this!!!!
😮😅
Wonderful lesson! Even though I I've been learning English for a long time, I didn't know half of the phrasal verbs you taught us in the video 😊
Glad to hear that Снежана!
There are so many vlogger to teach English, however I would like to glom onto your channel to learn english.
😊
I lovvvvve this type of videos.. when you use videos as examples.. and you teach us more advanced phrases ! I absolutely love this! I hope you keep making more like this !
Thanks a lot @roofy.1518!
Where I live, there are some people who use the Portuguese version for "tag along", but it's really informal and and I don't know how to describe, but I think it's something for teenagers or young adults. Well could be another, but I just remembered this exemple. "Vou colar" or "cola aqui mais tarde", "cola com a gente".
I glom onto Rachel and try immensely to speak as she speaks.
I don't know how you do it. Your videos are perfect.
Thanks .I glom onto your lessons.
I thought my English was pretty good until I saw this video. There are like 4 phrasal verbs I didn’t know what they meant, so now that I understand those phrasal verbs I can have a better comprehension of English. There is always something new to learn in any language!
Thanks for sharing @sebastianmontero7077!
Love these phrasal verbs videos!
Thank you @kulik03!

2. Yesterday there was a long discussion among my colleagues, but I didn't weigh in since the topic wasn't interesting.
3.Keep your speech shorter and precise, don't drone on, otherwise the public will get bore.
Thanks for sharing @shabanaanjum3316!

As always, Rachel shows us the diversity of the English language and debunks the myth of its simplicity. Although, knowing a basic set of words, you can say anything. But it is no longer easy to understand many things if you only know the basic words.
Hi Rachel
I hope you’re doing well
I have a suggestion that want to share with you. This kind of videos are so useful and helpful
Some of video are too long and boring sometimes. For example you talk about a verb or statement and its pronunciation for couple minutes . But this video for example is about 9 phrasal verbs with examples. It’s awesome.love it
I appreciate it @manamalekpoor3920!
Thank you very much Rachel for your work and energy keeping us, your students on the way of studying. I wouldn't like to drone on, and on about how good you and your team are, I just want to weigh in and say, that you have developed an interesting, maby unique methodology of teaching. That's why I'd like to glom onto your students making headway into new level of English.
You're very welcome @marselt811!

Happy New Year @user-xy2qh8tg1v!
@@rachelsenglish THANKS 🙏💞
When my son comes back home from school, he drones on and on .
Professor Rachel, I did make some New Year resolutions. These include continuing to be kind and generous, but without letting others take advantage of me. I have made it a point to do so tactfully, and not make it look that I have changed. The truth is, my dear professor, that the Bible fortold that in the last days of this wicked system of things, many people would be unthankful and unkind, among other things, and so we ought to excersise caution in our dealings with others. Yet we must continue to be peaceful and not repay evil for evil. Thus we do well to walk away from people who could harm us. It's best to hang around with friends who have proved to be loyal and who have earned our trust over the years by supporting us in good and bad times. I think all of this summarize my resolutions for this year. I would be delighted, professor Rachel, to hear about your vows for this year. I'm sure they would be encouraging and enlightening. I'm looking forward to hearing from you and taking in words of wisdom from your own resolutions. Warm greettings.
Your follower, Victor.
Thanks for sharing Victor!
My husband went for shopping I couldn't tag along since I had to complete my assignment.
Yesterday I had severe headache, I have to take medicine to water down this pain.
There are lots of things to do but it boils down to, if all they are essential for us.
I’ve been glommed onto REA since last year.
May I glom onto your English lessons channel?
You can't water down the issue, it just boils down to practice more.
Rachel, tell us which TV shows are best for developing English listening skills?
I think any TV show with native speakers can be great practice, but some suggestions with activities to practice are on my playlist here: czcams.com/play/PLrqHrGoMJdTSE_JJzynKLWx8he3CeL5IJ.html&si=2NrXw8YA02OK7_kL
I've been hearing the expression "do it justice" lately. Every so often and it always make sense in the context so I knew what it meant right away. This view is stunning I hope my camera can do it justice. The experience was befuddling, I know I'm not gonna do it justice but let me try and describe it in words
Thanks for sharing @uselessvad2444!

Hello there and thanks for watching!
What our communication boils down to is my boyfriend often drone on and on on certain subjects. While he does it, he sugar coats his stories and I have no choice but suck it up and hand tight while listening. I wish I could weigh in.
Most phrasal verbs seems to tag along more often with native English speakers.
QUESTION: Would you say the third syllable of the word UNDERSTAND is really an /æ/ in American English?
Yes, that would be the sound I'd use for this word, but because the vowel is followed by N, it will sound a bit different. Here's more on the AA+nasal sound: czcams.com/video/GxGWdoau7vc/video.htmlsi=OmcvmQmxrtadMB9-
@@rachelsenglish Thanks!
I don’t like my job but I should suck it up for my PR😅
3:28 I still don't understand the phrasal verb " water down " Could you explain more about this? And I'm about planning to take an IELT exam so could you give me some advices? Because I don't know where to start. I feel unconfident on my vocabulary and my accent 😢
Hi Khanh! "Water down" means to dilute something, or make it weaker or less intense. Good luck on your exam! Here's my playlist for vocabulary building: czcams.com/play/PLrqHrGoMJdTQSII_1SLk8a862w24hocVu.html&si=9nLn8hGmQYi_8S1H
Are sugarcoat and water down the synonyms?
Hi @Phoenix020! They're not the same, but they can both refer to the same thing but for different reasons.
@@rachelsenglish Hi Rachel thank you!
Start learning English with you and hope to reach native level as soon as possible
Keep it up Ada!
The sentence "I have to suck it up the situation" is grammatically correct, but it is less common and could be interpreted as "I have to suck the situation."
Isn't it better to use the phrasal verb "to suck it up" without the pronoun "it" to avoid ambiguity?
I would say the clearest options would be "suck it up" or "suck it up in this situation".
I need to learn more english please be guided me

I would like clarification on Active i Passive Voice grammar and idioms, I am learning English on my own with this difficulty, English is not my native language, and native speakers of my native language explain these topics very difficult to understand. If you can help me with my difficult task, master English tolerably I will be very grateful
This is a good idea for a future video! There's a lot to say about passive/active voice. I'll put this on my list for a future video explanation. For more idiom practice, check out my playlist here: czcams.com/play/PLrqHrGoMJdTQEjm6cv6ycFZdpcXczJBhy.html&si=GHwzBuII0CBwuNoR

Dear Rachel,
So ‘tag alongs’ has been used as a noun in one of the examples? Please confirm that it is okay to do so. Well, it sounds okay. Please comment.
Hi Igor! Yes, "tagalong" can be used as a noun. Examples here: youglish.com/pronounce/tagalong/english?
