That goalkeeper substitution at halftime was perfect timing. Gave the crowd a chance to acknowledge legend Lydia Williams and her contribution to Australian football. The passing of the baton from past generation to future. Such a special moment 🥹
The promoters really know how to hide these games, someone needs to do their job properly, good crowd, as always Melbourne delivers 👏 again

the double header thing was a set up, plenty of empty seats for newcastle as well. i’m sure most of the attendance only watched one of the two games
I went... for the Arsenal. The NUFC fans mucked off after the Newy Jets striker smashed 2 and got involved in 2 more goals. Ironic.
We arrived at h/t of the NUFC game.
But $159 for nose bleeds because you got 2 games was silly.
And they couldn't get all the ticket holders together at once.

Seeing Chelsea (my favorite team in England) play Gotham (my home city’s team) at Red Bull Arena in August and I’m HYPED. Don’t want fixture congestion but I love having chances to actually see my favorite international teams play in my neck of the woods.

Highlights are good but maybe not so many replays of minor incidents mens football highlights only last 3/4 minutes without 3/4 replays constantly. Why doesn't Australia use birds of prey to stop all the seagulls some stadiums have resident hawks to prevent swams of birds during matches

It was an end of season friendly, Newcastle Utd just lost 8-0 to the A- League men earlier.
A football extravaganza it was not! So what was the point of it? What’s more, Russo should have been in camp with the lionesses, as there is an important Euro qualifier against France coming up next Friday. I hope Sarina Wiegman drops her, she doesn’t deserve her place in the team!!
Why is it only Russo you mentioned? There’s other players who could also be with their national teams now. Arsenal is who they are contracted to play for
